okay so betanet is live. what now? When will we be able to claim coins and trade them on exchanges?
http://tezosfoundation.ch/news/tezos-betanet-expectations/- During this experimental period, the intent is that transactions from the betanet will irreversibly persist into the mainnet This means Tezos is now tradable I don't think it is, exchanges have to add tezos for it to be tradable. at this moment there's only futures trading on hitbtc. we have to wait for stable version or mainnet of tezos to be able to trade on better/top exchanges. What I meant by saying it's tradeable is that you can now send XTZ on the network. That's all you need to trade it i.e. OTC. I'm sure we will have an exchange soon too.

It's annoying that there's no new news. We are almost at the end of June and there are no updates. It would be nice to have a countdown on the site.
http://tezosfoundation.ch/news/tezos-foundation-releases-activation-codes/20. June 2018 Activation codes are availableThe Tezos Foundation is pleased to announce that activation codes are now available to contributors who have completed the identity verification process at https://verification.tezos.com. Launch readiness items completed: ✓ Compute storage costs ✓ Correct Michelson calling-convention to issue operations instead of calls ✓ Enforce checkpointing in the shell for bootstrapping nodes ✓ Provide hardware signature capabilities ✓ Improve the reliability of the baking daemon ✓ Compute gas costs
Launch readiness Items in progress: - Tune gas constants - Test secure infrastructure for the Foundation’s recommended allocation - Propose genesis block

What should I do to start staking SEMUX? I just bought 200 SEMUX from Stocks exchange. Please help me with detailed guideline on SEMUX staking procedure.
You can vote for one of the open pools and you'll get paid usually once a day, minimum payout applies and with such a small amount you'll most likely be paid once every few days. http://semux.7u.org/A validator gets around 87 SEM a day, therefore if for example you would want 43 SEM a day then you need 50% votes in a validator, which currently is on average 26000 SEM.

So.... where is the link to a repo?
And I'm not talking about the repo that has not seen a single commit since January...
You Devs are claiming that you've been hard at work but so far there's no evidence of any work that involves writing code.
Please prove me wrong.

Has anyone with programming knowledge looked at the GitHub? Is development still going on?
Very good question but you don't need to be a programmer to see that the repo only has 15 (trivial) commits and that the last one was in January. Unless there are people working on this in complete isolation from the outside world I really don't see this coin going anywhere. https://github.com/siriuscore/sirius/commits/masterFor comparison, this is how an active coin's repo looks like (Semux) https://github.com/semuxproject/semux/tree/develop1960 commits, unique code base, last commit 20 hours ago, devs always on Discord....

Airdrop rate has been increased!
You will be able to receive 1 SEM for every ETH you signed.
P.S. For previous participants, you will receive the difference by June 5th, 2018.
Excellent

...However the beta is not the full release...
Are you sure about that? Also, this is an open-source project. The idea is that community members contribute additional coding / functionality as they feel needed...the project should continue to grow/evolve over time. The facts are you can use the computational part on the mainnet... and it looks pretty awesome

Is Semux resistant to the "nothing at stake" vulnerability?
Nothing at stake requires forking but Semux BFT doesn't fork.

Whre did you read that Elastic will have masternodes? I don't really think that you can label XEL as a security, it's an utility asset/coin/token whatever you wanna call it, used to buy computational power On a sidenote, this new 51% attack meme I'm sure as hell that will lead to a new wave of shitcoins with the sentence "51% attack resistant" in it, mark my words I think they mean main net not mssternode :p That would be a first for me to read about masternodes. There is some reward system by the usage of forging. Maybe they really meant main net in the original post. I can only advise everyone to watch the vimeo video posted above about the usage of the project. That is really great and gives a first look and feel for the capabilities of the project The video you've mentioned posted below for reference: XEL MINING DEMO - MAINNET https://vimeo.com/272336319This video actually blew my mind.

I've searched the last pages of this huge thread but I couldn't find any reference to Gridcoin or Boinc.
This project seems very similar to the Gridcoin which I'm currently supporting with my CPU while my GPUs are mining. Elastic seems to be built from the bottom for what it does though, while Gridcoin was just attached to another platform which was running before the blockchain technology (16 years now to be precise). Is there any other reason that Elastic is better than BOINC? Maybe the two of them are different in many ways and I'm just missing something?
https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/elastic-compared-to-other-competitors/30"The problem with this approach is the involvement of a central authority. The distribution of Gridcoins (GRC) can be tampered arbitrarily the moment an attacker gains access to the centralized service. Also, the existence of Gridcoin depends on the existence of BOINC. If the latter service dies, so does Gridcoin unless an update is rolled out which moves the Proof-of-Research mechanism to a different service. In Elastic, we do not have such problems: we do not rely on any other third party service and neither do we depend the payout process on any kind of external (not tamper proof) factors. Instead, the measurement of the amount of computational contribution as well as the payout process is done entirely in the protocol itself." Thanks for the info. I'm afraid of that exact issue with BOINC. However it's much easier to use than XEL is... or at least seems to be. I read the instructions today and though I understood what I had to do, it was a lot of trouble! Did you read this? https://github.com/xel-software/orientationLegacy Core ClientThe old legacy client should be used by all those who do not plan to get involved in either buying computational resources or by contributing their computational resources to the network. While still in experimental stage, this client is tested for quite a while now and is the safer choice: https://github.com/xel-software/Litewallet-MainnetExperimental Beta Client (With Computation)This is the new client. It allows you to interact with XEL's computation engine on the mainnet. It is less tested and may contain bugs. Please re-read the above disclaimer and never use more coins with it (or with Xeline) than you can afford to lose. https://github.com/xel-software/Computationwallet-MainnetFor an easier set-up, we strongly suggest that you use the Docker-based installation found here: https://github.com/xel-software/Computationwallet-Mainnet-Docker

Updates:
- Semux has been listed on Bisq and stocks.exchange; we're contacting other exchanges too. - The airdrop for ETH holder is undergoing and we plan to increase the airdrop ratio. - BitcoinTalk signature campaign will be re-opened soon so that more people get the chance to know us!
Great news! Are you going to allow people that already have participated in ETH airdrop to submit signatures again to get the increased ratio? Thanks

I was expecting a drop after listing stocks.exchange because it is not a good one
Could you explain a bit why you think SEMUX project is not a good one, please. I have intention to invest into SEMUX project but I am a newbie in crypto world and lack invaluable experiences to judge whether it is good or not. Based on the SEMUX team activities, I think they are actively, and keep working to make the project moving forward. Thanks. I think he meant the exchange not the project. Semux is awesome and work on smart contracts has already started (see github).
