I just hope we get any announcement either way I have coin waiting for jupiter orders and if they announce no jups some coin will go on one or two more neptunes and some spread across other companies. I just want to hear anything from them.

Apologies for the late reply.
That is correct, all cables are rated 80 degrees Celsius for testing. You can withstand temparature up to 80 degrees Celsius with any issues.

Kind regards,

Michiel Bos

Thats handy to know, one would assume that most of the other big desktop brands Corsair, Antec, Seasonic etc would be roughly the same

Most probably yes, but I would not advise anyone to run their cables at above 50C.
Mine were reaching 48 during the day, so I just installed a fan to blow onto them which lowered the temp to 38C.

Yeah I swapped out my Corsair rm-850 with an Antec 1300w hcp 94% platinum on my oct jup when my nov jup arrived I bought one for each miner. Cables on both miners are cold to the touch and the oct jup power usage dropped by 30 watts compared to rm-850.

The Antec's also have oc link so you can link 2 psu's together for 2600w which still probably wouldnt be enough for a neptune Tongue

Looks like dedicated server for KNC november Jupiter is down (stratum+tcp://v2.srv.eligius.st:12234). Where all KNC miners with cgminer bug should be mining then? For now I switched to different pool.

Yeah I hope its back up soon. I am trying out slush at the moment seems to be working ok. I used to use ghash when eligius was down but who knows what is going on with them over this 51% uproar at the moment so I figure I'll just stay away.

fuck eligius why stop SERVER 2

i lost 1 day of shares

Thats unfortunate buddy, it will be back up soon hopefully. Just remember to be vigilant checking stats and this thread and knc thread I luckily caught it in about the first 30 mins

Edit: also dont forget backup pool

Any jup owners on v2.srv.eligius.st:12234 might need to change back to stratum for a while v2 seems to be down
86  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1300Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: January 08, 2014, 05:29:52 PM
Anyone elses stats not registering?

22.5 minutes   0.00 kh/s   0
256 seconds   0.00 kh/s   0
128 seconds   0.00 kh/s   0

Edit: Had both my miners on v2.srv.eligius.st:12234 switched one to stratum it seems to have fixed it. v2.srv.eligius.st must be down?

.............Hi ...... Ive got 2 Neptunes coming..................and there's No Way I'm going to let anyone else get them ...............(I would lose money) .............But if KNC wants to protect my existing hashing power ................then sell me a Jupiter .......pretty please

Pete

I concur
sell me a Jupiter .......pretty pretty please with sugar on top
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 08, 2014, 11:29:17 AM

.... Only a question of liquidity - Cash flow management is not a higher art....  Wink

I think KnC will exactly face that problem - The second they offer Jupiters (which I doubt they will do) - they are going to face significant amount of Neptune refund requests. At least me - I would dump all my "somewhen" in Q1/Q2 Neptunes for "in-hand" Jupiters.

Jupiter is a proven product - Neptune not.

This exactly what I mean, you think KNC will sell Jupiters now with a comment like this...  No chance...

If I were KNC I would reject anyone buying Jupiters that asked for refund of Neptunes.. full stop..  You think they are stupid and want to lose money

But also the more money people make in the short term off jupiters the more neptumes they will sell in the longterm. Also depending on how long they announced selling before opening orders it may be a futile exercise to get a neptune return if its going to take 4-5 days to see money jupiter orders may only last a few hours/days depending on stock level.

Edit: I do hope they make any announcement soon though AMT 1200ghs mid march delivery close jan 9. Without any jupiters that may be my earliest chance to get a decent amount of ghs to combat difficulty
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 07, 2014, 02:05:14 PM
I hope they announce if they are selling or not by the end of the week I have been holding off ordering any mining gear until I find out what knc are doing. I'm keen to get the wheels in motion to combat rising difficulty by ordering something. Grin

for those of you that have these, how noisy are they? and how much heat do the put out? my room while i am deployed is only 10x10, lol and the air conditionir is all ready loud enough

Noise wont be an issue they are not that loud you wouldn't hear it over your air conditioner you could always swap the fans our for some noctua ones if needed. Heat may be an issue depending on where you live or how good your air conditioning is my portable air con cant keep up since I added my nov jup to my oct one but thats on a hot day on a cold day they warm the rooms quite well. But I'll be watercooling at least one in the new year just to drop the heat output a little so that is always an option in a hot climate.

I just posted this in the eligius thread but thought I'd ask here as well:
My rejected shares on my oct jup are way higher than my nov jup can anyone enlighten me if the numbers are high/low good/bad or normal?

Quote
JupOct
12 Hours   530.05 Gh/s   5331392 (380)
3 Hours   555.76 Gh/s   1397504 (64)
22.5 Minutes   554.64 Gh/s   174336 (6)
JupNov
12 Hours   620.74 Gh/s   6243552 (102)
3 Hours   666.02 Gh/s   1674752 (9)
22.5 Minutes   662.96 Gh/s   208384 (0)
Are others getting similar numbers with oct jup on eligius or other pools?

Edit:accepted then rejected shares in brackets

Was just browsing knc forum and just thought I'd mention to keep miners horizontal not vertical. Knc will not issue rma for damage done if used vertically.

http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/24251-can-you-place-the-miner-nov-jupiter-on-its-side-and-is-65c-hotter-than-normal?_=1387273529972

I had my oct jup on its side when I first received but it slotted in better in my room horizontally lucky for me I probably would have just assumed that like a PC I just could store it any which way

Anyone with an affected KnC device is welcome to switch to and try a copy of the dev server I put on one of the main IPs.

v2.srv.eligius.st:12234

Let me know if this helps/hurts/etc please.  I'll check back tomorrow to perhaps bug someone for remote access again to test.

Yep the dev server is working great low 1.4% - 2% rate on oct jup and 2% - 2.5% on nov jup & no cores disabling on nov jup so whatever the difference of the dev sever it has fixed the problem for me
95  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [875Th] Eligius: ASIC, no registration, no fee CPPSRB BTC + 105% PPS NMC, 877 # on: December 15, 2013, 01:20:56 PM
Still working on updates to the servers.

I applied the server-side patch to work around the KNC cgminer driver issue that should help KNC users.  I'm already seeing improvements across the board for KNC folks. Smiley

I moved my oct jup to ghash a fair few hours ago as hw errors were at about 4% from about 1.8% which was strange as it was nov jup that was having the hw error issue I dont know how long the oct jup errors were at 4% I hadn't checked in a day or 2. I just moved them both back to eligius now and within 5 - 10 mins oct jup climbs to 4% and nov jup to 10% hw errors and cores have started to turn off on nov jup but no cores off on oct jup. The only other pool I've used lately besides eligius is ghash and both jups stabilise at about 1.8% hw errors nov jup sometimes is at around 2% or a bit over.

Cant wait to get my jups back to eligius ghash payouts are woeful compared to eligius

edit:
jups now at 5% and 12% back to ghash while I sleep I think, I guess I'll see when I wake up if I'm the only one still with knc problems.

I too have had to take my November Jupiter to another pool. I got over 10% hardware errors and cores enabling/disabling constantly. After my 12hr avg @ Eligius dropped below 600, I switched to BTC Guild and now get 660-690 at the pool with 1.7% hardware errors and no cores goin on and off.

I noticed that my diff @ Eligius alternated between 512 and 1024 while I consistently get 256 @ BTC Guild, if that might have anything to do with it.

Yep same here. Oct jupiter works flawlessly on eligius but Nov jupiter has 8% hw errors and cores disabling like crazy but when I switch Nov jupiter to ghash pool it works fine errors drop back and no disabled cores

Does p2pool hinder your Gh/s mine went down to 480Gh/s when I connected to Elizium a while ago seems it was affecting others also:
http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/kncminer-hosting/kncminer-pool/4246-p2pool-public-node

My hashrate in cgminer goes down, but the rate seen by the pool is pretty close to my actual hashrate, sometimes more, sometimes less, just like any other pool.

The bottom line is the payout - and the payout is good Wink

If you plan to try P2Pool, I would recommend making your own node - it's not that complicated.  I don't know anything about Elizium, but most of the public p2pool nodes charge fees (I'm looking at you, p2pool.org).

Thanks for the info I think I'll look into creating my own node the more coin the better
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: December 05, 2013, 06:19:06 PM
I understand that the first batch of Jupiters had to make over 70 coins to break even in BTC and that was going to be tough...  but how can you look at a Neptune and say that it will produce less than 10 coins.    My two jupiters today still create 1 coin a day (combined).      The risk is very different than it was with purchasing Jupiters when BTC was at $100.

unless you've got 2 November Jupiters pushing 700GH/s each I find it had to believe you can mine 1 BTC a day.

please explain how you're doing this if it's true.
or is it a mistake and you're calculations are incorrect.

I have less than 200gh pointed to slush right now, and I'm making .25btc/day. I have no doubt he's making 1btc/day.

I've just checked slush pool luck:

so for the last week we had 103%, so you should have slightly more btc than whatsoever profit calculator will tell you, 3% more on avg to precise. So in the last week a 200GH/s machine should have minted 0.1422 * 1.03 = 0.1464 BTC a day.

My merc made 1.008 over that period. 142GH =/- a couple of GH constant. That's actual, not calculated. On Slush.

on a 7 days period? good for you.

142 GH/s eq 0.1010/day avg. so 0.1010 * 7 * 1.03 = 0.7282

so maybe slush pool luck calculation is not  as accurate as one might think.

ps: I've just noticed that slush is currently experiencing a very bad round 13.5hs without a solving block....

As long as we are comparing pool luck Cheesy, I switched to P2Pool about a week ago, and the luck has been awesome:

From http://p2pool.info/ :

Quote
Pool Luck (7 days, 30 days, 90 days): 174.9%137.5%123.1%

I have made 1 BTC +/- 0.1 BTC with a single Jupiter every day during this past week Cheesy

P2Pool rocks.
