With respect to the speculation above we sold out of Neptune's last night.

Can you post how many Neptunes are sold in all batches? Just trying to calculate PHs when they eventually come online.

If each batch is 1200 would that be about 1.5 billion difficulty added for all 3 shipped is that right?

Thanks for the update,

Will Jupiters or Upgrade modules be available soon?

I believe it's more likely to be upgrade module, there appears to be a bottleneck on acquiring controller boards.

Man what a downer. I have about 20btc stashed away to order more jupiters, held off on ordering 2 more neptunes. Seems like the gamble to wait for jups didnt pay off. Oohh well

Mr. Bitcoinorama said it should level off. My prediction is 0%.

It will level off eventually, but not for a good few months yet.

Looks like Cointerra isn't far from shipping the world's next "most powerful BTC miner".

Lots of folks in this thread said they'd never even have a chip in January.

Wink KNC will ship new Jupiters soon I'm sure Wink

At what price? $2995 or $3495 I'm guessing one of those. Surely less than $4K

I came so close to ordering from cointerra it's a bit of a regret

I wonder if they intend to keep rolling out neptune batches for sale month after month like cointerra have done or another network protection statement until other companies reach 3-4TH machines or 20nm machines?

Cool .Thanks for the clarification guys

Are the neptune 10k customer only batch and the 13k batch shipping at the same time and current batch ships out a month after those first lots have shipped. Is that right?

Makes more sense than the 13k batch shipping with the current batch as that would trigger refund requests probably.

Yep certainly wouldn't be a good idea or I thought maybe the customer only batch ships a month ahead of 13k batch so 3 batches in 3 months? But they most probably ship at the same time. So the 10k customer only batch and 13k are one batch and existing customers just got rewarded with a cheap price and first dibs?

edit:
IIRC the original $10K customers are receiving theirs first and the $13K customers Neptunes shipping second a couple of weeks later.

Ok Thanks

With all of this hash-power coming online -- when are we going to get an update on Neptune?

We are only 13 days into Q1. My son, you have a much longer wait. Months.

And 1.5 months since Neptune was announced, oh great genius of all that is bitcoin. It's time for a technical update, or people are going to start pulling orders.

I'm not going to pull my order in fact I will probably order another, but I must agree a technical update would be the way to go before the end of january.

how is the errors at new eligius pool???

The v2.srv.eligius.st:12234 seemed to fix the 10% hw error and cores disabling issues my hw errors were hovering between 2.5% - 3.5% been on the server since december without issue till the crash the other day but it was fixed. But as stated above wizkid patch may lower hw errors even more and increase ghs. The lowest I had seen my jups was 1.8% hw errors on ghash last year so 0.5% would be great.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 11, 2014, 06:49:54 PM
bfgminer should lower eligius hw errors to a minimum supposedly. Might give it a whirl
eligius already provided a new stratum address that supposedly remedies that issue:

stratum+tcp://v2.srv.eligius.st:12234

can someone give us an update on the status of that address?

So, we decided to compete with ourselves, and go on to the next generation."

Guess we have our answer.

Should be more jups in a few weeks go to 18:30
Hmmm, yes....he..."Thinks they will"  in late Jan, early Feb.....

Yeah it wasn't a definite.
But I'm confident they will, after seeing the video i'm quite content to wait it out now

Awesome, thanks for sharing that! That's our very own 'Orama getting interviewed for those of you new to the scene. Skip to ~8:30 for the relevant part:

"We're still waiting for competition..." -in regards to shipping more Jupiters.

Or skip to 18:30 for "we will be selling them if not february later this month"

Yay Grin Grin

Here is a new video where the guys guess is Jupiters MAY he seem hesitant that Jupiters may be released at the end of the month

was Friday (yesterday) at CES with KNC runs like 20min or some such

http://www.engadget.com/2014/01/10/KnCMiner-interview/

really good interview basically says what most of us guessed

lmao when he says on there certain companies did not follow thru on delivery and they we're frustrated like others and approached the chip mnfg for making KNC

heh LMAO they have to be talking about BFL what a hoot ......

anyway enjoy but now if his hesitant answer is correct ...price my man price...if we get them in say middle of Feb they will have to be dirt cheap imho

interesting times indeed..but really good interview

Thanks mate that's just what I needed some confirmation
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 10, 2014, 05:33:19 PM
Given the time-frame, It would be no surprise to me if they decided at this point NOT to do Jupiters...  or already have decided such.
But then again...  if that was the case, they'd have no reason to be silent about it.... so take your pick....lol.

That's what has started to frustrate me the not knowing what is going on. Other companies batches have closed I could have ordered. I would love some jups but if they don't do a batch that's fine I just don't want to be stuck in limbo till feb waiting for jups that won't come and miss out on more neptunes because of no announcement or order neptunes now and miss out on jups. So torn as to what to do
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: January 10, 2014, 01:27:27 PM
Well KNC staff posted in the KNC Forums that Neptunes 2nd batch they still have for sale are "going fast" ...so I'd safely assume NO CHANCE of any Jupiters being released into the wild before that batch of Neptunes are sold out.....imho

but yeah...if they are ahead of the timeline they set for themselves for selling Neptunes.....(whatever that is) it is unlikely we will see any more Jupiters at any price

*I'm unsure on how I feel on this me and 2 brothers have 2 Neptunes on order 1 batch one 1 batch 2....on the other hand have USD for Jupiters if priced right...hmmmm...I'm on the fence?"

add to that my current 555gh Jupiter to the best of my knowledge is mining .18 btc /day and difficulty is projected more or less 30 percent again ...so you run that out ways...say I get my Jupiter NEW batch er.....by 2nd week of Feb say....what I'd be looking at maybe .10 btc/day....then Neptunes come out by april 1st say?

anyway seems awful tight imho

so I too still think it is a no go (I do however have a corsair 1200i just in case and 30 days to send it back..i'm sooooooo conflicted"

confused ..this bitcoin stuff makes my head hurt......

I just wish we would get an update surely they have had a meeting about it. They just need to let us know what is going on people need to plan ahead to combat rising difficulty we cant do that with silence.

Curious whether there will be another batch of Jupiters 'coz there's a risk for KnCMiner that many might jump the Neptune ship and switch over to some Jupiters they get way earlier.

Some may do that though refund time would be an issue. Surely knc would realize though that the majority of the profits people would make from a jupiter batch would be reinvested in neptunes
