1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are memecoins really important for the crypto market? on: January 31, 2024, 04:16:42 AM
I think meme coins were indeed meant to be a joke and for fun projects back then, far before the Dogecoin price soaring high because of Elon Musk's hype. It was created without a single bit of serious business and only as a joke. But now, I think the goals are already far deviated. Meme coins become a pump-and-dump mechanism that is used as a commodity to sell the belief that "people can get rich in one night." So now, people who make and jump into meme coin projects have a clear goal, which is far from only having fun.

I'm not a native speaker, so usually I use some grammar checker tools to help me before posting. I write it down there and let them check the spelling and misgrammar for me; that's why I don't need the notes. However, if it's used to probably write down the topic or something that you want to post but don't have the time yet, then it's useful, I think. You can just add the important points to elaborate later, when you have time to post in the forum.
3  Other / Off-topic / Re: Strong desire and integrity helps a man reach his goal on: January 31, 2024, 03:52:07 AM
I don't know why you're only mentioning a man, while I think both men and women should have those qualities too to reach their goals and become successful in life. I think if you only mention these three qualities, which are strong wishes, focus, and good integrity, to conquer any obstacles in life, these three are not enough. In my opinion, good IQ, EQ, and, for some people, even SQ (spiritual quotient) are the keys to gaining success in life.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Buy ideas on: January 30, 2024, 05:27:23 AM
I'm sorry, but I really have a difficult time understanding this thread. However, from some of the words, I can only guess that the OP is trying to deliver his thoughts in a metaphorical way. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Do you mean the "buying of ideas" is the exchange of knowledge between one person and another, affecting the growth of each other?. No one is really knowledgeable without collaborating with others' knowledge. I hope the OP could articulate his opinion better, thou.
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallets support 32 word seed phrases on: January 30, 2024, 05:00:09 AM
Hi there. I inherited a Bitcoin wallet seed phrase from my uncle, but he didn't capture all the details. It's a list of 32 words. However all the wallets I tried so far only use 12,18 and 24 words. The words also seem a bit different to the typical words I remember seeing in my own wallet phrases. Lastly the one word is hard to make out, but will cross that bridge once I know what type of wallet this is. Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if you need more detail.

Hmm, what an interesting case! First of all, I'm sorry for your loss of your uncle. Second,  it would probably be much help if you could explain all of the details since you seem to indicate that you have other details to be kept (not the sensitive and prohibited details, though). I tried to Google it too, but I couldn't find any significant information.

It’s definitely an added word by the owner of the seed phrase, right now you need to find how to gets those words and since you said some words are not familiar they might not be from BIP39 seed phrase. You can check the list here, maybe you can filter those words out that are not here. Then you might be facing a problem of whether the wallet is passphrase or not which is another problem aside the right arrangement of the words if gotten (although can be solved by bitarecover tool).

With the assumption that current wallets are using Bip39, you may consider Zaguru12's advice to check the dictionary list and eliminate the words that aren't suitable, then re-arrange the order using the tools he recommends. Or probably try the Electrum wallet, like most of our fellows recommend here.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is merit necessary for my survival here on: January 29, 2024, 11:32:12 AM
Instead of survival, it's more like a measurement to make sure you can keep growing in the ranks. I think your account will stay intact even if you don't get any merit. You can keep posting and hanging out with other fellows here, and don't mind about merits if you just want to merely discuss here. However, if you have other importance, for example, as a bounty hunter who wants to improve their earnings through signature campaigns, then merit is very important. There are some criteria for increasing your ranks, and one of them is to fulfill certain amounts of merit for certain ranks.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know why the exchange wallet are not safe on: January 29, 2024, 11:23:01 AM

2. Do  not keep bitcoin in an exchange wallet: This is also important to be aware of. A lot of people only think that after protecting their seed phrases, their coins are secured.

Not keeping your assets on the crypto exchange is absolutely an old, unwritten rule that has been echoed by almost all of the people in crypto communities. "Not your keys, not your crypto" is a slogan that makes me want to invest in a new project that claims to be a solution to how we trade nowadays. Both CEX and DEX have their own weaknesses, and these projects claim themselves as "the first shariah-compliant hybrid exchange," offering new ways to trade by keeping our assets and holding them in our own wallets (non-custodial) while trading in the CEX efficiencies. I hope it truly could solve the current issues since we've lost our money by trading in either CEXs or DEXs in the last few years. I hope HEXs will be popular in the next couple of years.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a crypto investor, the less app you install the better. on: January 29, 2024, 11:11:48 AM

This shows that all these apps are sensitive to everything we do on our smartphone, I will like to advice beginners to avoid non default keyboards, as they have the potential to collect every data on your phone, the sensitive ones and the less sensitive, even the words we type through them.

yes, absolutely! A non-default keyboard can get your typing recorded and pose a risk of scamming, which is called a keylogger. To be clear, according to Malewarebytes (click the  link), "keyloggers are a particularly insidious type of spyware that can record and steal consecutive keystrokes (and much more) that the user enters on a device. The term keylogger, or “keystroke logger,” is self-explanatory: software that logs what you type on your keyboard ".That's why you should just use the default ones, and the secure apps come from a legitimate source.
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A practical way to stop procrastinating and start your investment journey. on: January 28, 2024, 12:47:17 PM
IMHO somehow these "procrastinations" in your dictionary to postpone to buy some bitcoin relate not only to cognition (thoughts) but also affective (emotions) that affect the behavior later on. So, first, the individual should know what Bitcoin is, the technology behind it, why it is important for them, and why they need to invest in it to gather the initial knowledge that later on will influence their affective part, where they feel that investing in Bitcoin is necessary and gives them positive emotion, they believe the Bitcoin supremacy. When they know and feel that investing in Bitcoin is a good decision to make, then there won't be more procrastination because they have internal motivation to invest. Other people can't make us do things unless we ourselves do.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's the possibility of discovering a memecoin that could change your life? on: January 28, 2024, 12:26:45 PM
I don't know. I found it's more difficult to choose meme coin projects that could bring me massive profits compared to projects with utility. I mean, it's really difficult to find certain criteria to see that those meme coin projects are great (compared with projects with utility, which I know what to expect, like the working products or the utility itself). Additionally, I feel insecure about investing in meme coins because most of those projects have anonymous developers. I think meme coin projects are not suitable for my preferences in investing in general.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: January 28, 2024, 12:14:37 PM
I believe God gave us the brain to think. Just like when we receive and analyze other sources of information, like media outlets or social media, we can also follow some influencers as our other source of information. We can't just follow them and literally follow their steps, even when they're jumping off the cliff. We can cross-check it with the others and draw the best conclusion from it, so we can make the next decision. Always be vigilant, peeps.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your doing for now? on: January 27, 2024, 11:49:50 AM
I still have faith that the bull run is coming; it's getting nearer along with the BTC halving. So, what I do right now is, on one side, monitor the movement of BTC while adding my bags (DCA-ing) to some of my long-term projects (Altcoins). I know these projects have been working so hard in the bear season, so I support them all the way so I can get partying in the next bull run with these bags I have. I can't wait; these next bull runs will be epic.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What tips you will give to a new investor to identify scam projects early ? on: January 27, 2024, 11:43:21 AM
You know, along with the development of the crypto space, of course it would be more difficult to spot scam projects immediately. Even after thorough research, some of us could get scammed. Why? Because these criminals learn too, their scam trials develop too. It's not only us who get smarter; they're too. One thing is for sure: if they promised you good-to be true deals, then just leave them; it might be a Ponzy scheme. Another thing to minimize the risk is probably if the team is doxxed; although it's not always a green light, a thorough check in general is still needed.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO in 2017-2018 left the strongest impression on you? on: January 27, 2024, 11:33:08 AM

3. I joined many ICO's in the past, usually I bought it at the end of the sale and dump it when the token listed on EtherDelta.

I don't know why, but I'm so happy when I read "etherdelta" in your reply, probably because it brings back memories. I feel so happy when I trade in EtherDelta, because first, I don't need to do KYC; second, I just need to connect my wallet there, deposit into the trade wallet, and voila, I can trade immediately.

Some part of myself still regret why did I dump some of the tokens too early, however in reality it will be impossible either for me to buy many different tokens without dump the previous tokens.

I think your decision to sell your tokens immediately is smart, as long as you still gain profits, because at that time, who knows what will happen in the future since these are new projects and not a few of them actually have the intention to scam from the beginning? So, you're still winning, and congratulations for that.

  • If participated, which one left the most lasting impression on you?

Back to the topic: Which ICO in 2017–2018 left the strongest impression on me? I'll answer TRON (TRX) because of the figure behind it, which was its founder, Justin Sun, since he's one of the most prominent figures in the crypto space at the time, and for sure it brings me some profits too.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (DOGE) on: January 26, 2024, 11:49:38 AM
As far as I know, the Doge coin price is always related to Elon Musk, and this time is no exception. According to some news (click this  link), the price of Doge Coin is rising because X (former Twitter) announced X Payment, which is assumed to make Doge Coin one of the payment tools. Like usual, people hype this, and as the "father" of Doge Coin, Elon Musk successfully "dragged up" the price of Doge Coin.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to altcoins ? on: January 26, 2024, 11:39:33 AM
Some people see it as a chance. So it actually depends on our perspective. Some people love the high volatility; therefore, they love this kind of altcoin situation. If you don't like it, probably investing in altcoins is not for you. For me, because I don't do short-term trading (it makes my head ache) and I love the more stable and secure ones, then I tend to invest in Bitcoin or find long-term altcoins to invest in.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE VERY TRAGIC MOMENT IN FUTURES TRADE HAPPEN AGAIN. on: January 26, 2024, 11:33:01 AM
One of the things that people should know before jumping into the crypto space is absolutely about the risks. Futures trading is an extra-high-risk way to trade that can bring you either prosperity or poverty. Don't pamper your greedy side, people. You really need to be in your cold head before deciding to use a certain strategy in the crypto space. There are many examples, and many people share their bad experiences with crypto too, so take a lesson. Don't let you experience it by yourselves.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it even possible to offer 10% daily reward? on: January 23, 2024, 11:46:14 AM
If you think it's something too good to be true, then probably it is. It's kind of fishy how a platform or project could give you a ten percent daily reward. Please don't get trapped in this kind of Ponzy scheme, because even in the crypto space, where you can get rich in one night, this offer seems to make no sense. However, please read carefully the whitepaper and always be diligent; don't get sorry just because you follow a wrong suggestion from other people. You have to decide it for yourself to get a satisfying result.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins profits or bank profits, which best? on: January 23, 2024, 11:39:46 AM
I believe there's a good explanation why investing in cryptocurrencies is so common these days. There's a potential we'll make more money in cryptocurrency if we compare it to a bank's profit, of course. Why? There are some risks to be aware of, even in the bank. It seems obvious that we will profit more from cryptocurrency than from putting it in the bank because the risk is bigger. The cryptocurrency market is always active, increasing our chances of making money but also increasing our chances of losing it. Your money is genuinely invested somewhere when you store it in a bank; inflation is your biggest adversary and occasionally you can't access the money you need right away when you require a substantial quantity.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look out for a good Altcoin and buy now! on: January 23, 2024, 11:27:41 AM
Yes, it frequently happens that when Bitcoin goes up, the altcoin price will go up too. If I have to give the description behind that, it is probably because people are focusing on Bitcoin as the pioneer and look up to it. People are investing their money, especially in the journey to Halvening, where people believe that the bull run will start soon. When the price of Bitcoin goes up, some of the new investors jump in, don't care how high the price is, and then make Bitcoin reach its new ATH. Some old investors who already hold it longer start to liquidate and take some profits to then put it onto some ALTcoins (making the Bitcoin dominance index decrease) and focus on ALTcoins and make the price go high just like they did on Bitcoin, and it becomes a cycle.

For some altcoins that I hold now, I'm focusing on one new hybrid exchange that's claimed to be the first Shariah-compliant hybrid exchange that solves how we trade nowadays. It's the combination of good features of DEX and CEX, a place where you can trade in an uncustodial way. You just need to connect the wallets to the platform without sending them to the exchange's hot wallet, so you still have your assets and can keep them, but in another way, you can still get the efficiency of a centralized exchange. Besides that, you'll get 50/50 profit sharing from the platform's advantages. The project is called Biokript ($BKPT). Biokript has other advantages, and it's ready to fly in the next bullrun.
