Sig spamming
Merit
Trust
Reputation
and now we have Merit source applications.
And 'Charity', I don't say Charity topics for good purposes are bad. It is good, in fact, but sometimes, it's hard to verify such charity will be used correctly as their original purposes. Within early days after charity topics created, it is probably don't have enough information, events, and proofs to show that charity funds will be used appropriately to help others whom get troubles in their lives.

Additionally, should we consider about new child board, Merit Source Application, inside Meta board. I know theymos said merit source applications should be posted on Meta. However it will be good if we have a child board for that, and applications won't be burried with other discussions.

The Warning is clear for Guest. However, I have a thought that maybe the forum should have more detailed guide on this issue, and the topic (if actually written by admin or some of staffs) should be pinned in the top of Beginners & Help. Maybe I am wrong at this point, and maybe that sort of guide topic is abundant.
I actually made my topic on this issue, what do you think about it?
Guests - Read Warnings on potential scam projects started by Neg Trust Users
443  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Guests - Read Warnings on potential scam projects started by Neg Trust Users on: April 27, 2019, 10:18:23 AM
I agreed with you, most of Guests visit the forum after they search about bitcoin or whatever altcoins through their web browsers, google search, ... Nevertheless, I guess after reading topics that search results lead them to, they might visit the Beginners & Help board to discover the topic.
By now, we have only one pinned topic (Newbies - Read before posting) (by Lauda), so what if we have the second pinned topic (not mine), such as:
Guests - Read before investing
Is it a good idea? I think it is only good for the forum because if the forum better help guests to avoid scam projects, the forum will have better reputation. It's good!

Make new topic like mine, and pin it at the top of Beginners & Help board.
444  Other / Meta / Re: Are users abusing the merit source application on: April 27, 2019, 09:46:00 AM
They smartly caught the hot trend. Years ago, merit topics easily got merits; months ago trust topic easily got merits; and around last 2 months, merit source applications easily got merits. I agreed they are good users, whom contributed many things to the forum, but I think if theymos does not announce that he need more merit sources, I don't think we actually need more merit source applications.
I called it likely hyper inflation of source application, and (if accepted) inflation always does not good.
Next thing to add in the book, I guess we might see abundant topics on theymos, started by this one

445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There's Still Too Many Scams Within The ICO Community... on: April 27, 2019, 08:26:56 AM
DT members in the forum work effectively to tag scammers with negative trust, and feedback. Yesterday, the admin stepped in and gave us another feature, that is usually for Guests whom don't log in account to read topics.
From now on, Guests can instantly see Warning if they visit OPs created by scammers.
Guests - Read Warnings on potential scam projects started by Neg Trust Users
With this helpful feature, I believe less investors will get scammed.
446  Other / Beginners & Help / Guests - Read Warnings on potential scam projects started by Neg Trust Users on: April 27, 2019, 07:58:52 AM
Sometimes, forum guests might decide to create accounts here, so they might become Newbies. That's why I created this topic for Guests/ Newbies.

Admin has been kindful and open-hearted person, he actually read Meta to see suggestions of forum members, and maybe also read other boards.
Even theymos is the only one who are responsible to code and made improvements for the forum software, he actually listens to our suggestions. When he thinks suggestion is relevant and neccesary, he will spend his time to do improvements and upgrades.

Three months ago, our community raised a demand on adding new feature, that allows Guests [whom do not log in accounts] to see Trust.
Viewing TRUST when not logged in

Yesterday, theymos offically made it. I think we all should give him a round of applause for this new launched feature.
Logged-out users will now see a warning in trust-enabled sections if more DT members neg-trust the topic starter than positive-trust him.

This increases the responsibility of DT members not to give negative trust for stupid reasons, but only for things that cause you to believe that the person is a scammer.
This is a warning:

If you are a guest, whom simply drop by the forum to read, don't create account or actually have account but don't log in, and scan announcement topics to find potential projects for your portfolio. Please pay attention on OP's creators.
If you visit OPs, and see the Warning attached above, you should avoid those projects. They are highly potential scam projects, that start by scammers, whom get many Negative trusts.
Because you don't log in, you can not be able to see their Negative trust and feedbacks, but the Warning is enough for you to stay away from them.

Here is link to announcement topic of Bitcoin Crown: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3509873.0
Please click on the link and see how the Warning displayed.
447  Other / Meta / Re: Topic: banned bitcointalk member on: April 27, 2019, 05:15:49 AM
But, what I want to know is that every member is blocked, with a good post, there is a sign or something to see that the member is blocked, For example: topic locked, or another sign that can be known by other members, besides (bpip).
It has already discussed there:
Suggestion: Replace or remove avatars of banned members
You should lock your topic, and discuss in that topic, if you want. It is always better to keep the Meta board as clean as possible, so please don't create new topic to discuss something that has already raised by others.
Do you want to see something like this (sign, as you suggested)?
or something like this one LOL:

448  Other / Meta / Re: Why I was perma-ban? Spam or plagiarism? Hell no! on: April 27, 2019, 05:05:10 AM
I have not spent my time to investigate the case of perm-banned OP, because I don't have too much time and enough skills to do this.
However, publishing snapshotted images without permissions from owners of those photos, or sites won't lead to plagiarism, at least in the forum.
Admin raised his opinion in another topic there.
- That's not plagiarism.
 - If there is dox outside of the investigations section, report it with that as the reason.
 - If someone is threatening violence against you, report it with that as the reason.
 - If you have a copyright claim, you have to PM/email me a valid DCMA takedown notice with all required elements, including your address, a declaration under penalty of perjury, etc. Note that I will forward your notice to the affected users.
 - The forum is not under EU jurisdiction.
It is obviously that members should leave source link to sites or places where you get those images for their posts or topics, but without links, they won't be judged as plagiarism in the forum, so far.

I could be wrong, but mostly perm-bans come from plagiarism, so the OP case probably due to plagiarism (content plagiarism, not photo plagiarism).
449  Other / Meta / Re: Topic: banned bitcointalk member on: April 26, 2019, 10:02:23 AM
Because I see other members still giving (Merit) to members who have been banned.
I think (sMerit) given in vain, because the members are no longer active in the Forum.
Another reason, because (sMerit) is very limited.
I don't think there are something really wrong if a member send their merits to banned user for their good posts. Because the core functions of merits in the forum are:
- a gift for good contributions. This is why we see hundreds or thousands of merits sent to users whom left the forum for years, like @satoshi, @Hal, and so on. They received merits for their contributions, even they already left the forum, and someone like @Hal never come back. Moreover, even users banned, they can still log in and read, maybe they feel happy if their good posts meditated.
- a restriction to prevent scammers move up: it is off-context of the topic.

It is clearly that sending merits to banned (permanent) users will destroy all smerits and reduce total merits that can be circulated in the forum. However, in general, it is not wrong thing and users can do it based on their own perspective.

It's fine if you simply focus on doing things can give you free money through those tasks, and get money in bitcoin, altcoins, or tokens. However, your approach is not perfect (I don't want to say that you did something wrong, because it is always fine if you don't scam anyone or help someone to scam others). Whatsoever things you do in crypto, your ultimate goal is earning money, right? So, before thinking of earning money, not only in crypto, but also in real life, you should (or have to) learn how to save your money.
Saving your money by avoiding scam projects steal money from you.
Saving your money by securing your emails, wallets, accounts, and private keys better to avoid attackers steal money from you.

Therefore, I propose some topics for you:
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 alternative coins to invest now for 2020 on: April 26, 2019, 08:09:50 AM
I read the topic, and saw people tend to vote for altcoins in top 10, so I am curious why did you all not thinking of ZEC (Zcash)?
The coin decreased to its all time low in BTC pair, why not seriously spending your time for ZEC? If you don't have too much time (on bed, on roads, etc.), I already created a topic for your needs. The OP, currently, presents some basic facts about ZEC. I hope that my topic can help you to choose a good one.
[ZEC] ZCASH: Discussion
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ZEC] ZCASH: Discussion on: April 26, 2019, 07:33:20 AM
ZCash (ZEC) has fallen over years (since late of 2016), and today, the coin hit its all time low (or somewhere is around its all time low) at 0.0112 BTC for on Zcash coin.
And the ZEC' chart of price looks like a flat line since June of 2018, around one-year period. Another important plus point to seriously think of its temporary rice is a good point to own it is daily volume of ZEC maintained high and very stable over the last one-year period. Volume is the most important components when we assess any coin. It is likely a power, a momentum, and a breath of growths. Fortunately, ZEC perfectly satisfies this criterion.
The topic is open-discussion, so please feel free to discuss about ZEC. However, I don't want to see topic falls into over-use of technical analyses. Let's discuss and keep it simple.

Price chart (in ZEC/ BTC pair): I disable USDT, and marketcap lines to make the chart clearer.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEMUX: Discussion on: April 26, 2019, 05:18:36 AM
I agree, that SEMUX very well survived the bearish trend and for a long time is in the accumulation zone.
It would be nice to see SEMUX on newer larger exchanges. Tokok mainly shows fake volumes.
I would prefer to use STEX for my SEMUX tradings. Experienced traders will easily find that SEMUX has been in the end of its accumulation phase. Sooner or later, SEMUX will finish its accumulation. Recent days, the coin recovered from 5000 satoshis to 6000 satoshis. Despite negative movements of bitcoin, and most of altcoins during last several days, SEMUX has been different, and kept rallying. So, let's think positively that when bitcoin and market finish corrections, and move up again, SEMUX might be one of the market's shooting stars.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEMUX: Discussion on: April 26, 2019, 04:50:33 AM
One thing we should look out in a project before investing our money or knowing that there is going to be a moon in the price of that coin, is what real life value that coin have to offer, what I mean is that, what can a person who is not so knowledgeable about crypto use the coin for.
In the OP, I did not mention that the SEMUX will take off and flight over the Moon. I only wrote that SEMUX has nearly accumulated enough at its bottom range, and it might finish its bottom-out procedure sooner or later, or already finished it. After that, SEMUX will recover considerably, and we might take advantage of its low price at the moment and its coming rally to earn profits. In reality, today SEMUX has solidly stood around 6000 satoshis, despite of ups and downs of bitcoin over the last 24 hours in the crypto market.
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP is the Worst-Performing Major Crypto of 2019 on: April 25, 2019, 10:45:06 PM
The two charts (of Bitcoin, and Ripple) give me vague imagination that Ripple can get dumped deeper as Bitcoin was. When everyone thought this is a bottom, whales forced it down to one deeper level, and the same movements might occur with Ripple. They have similar pattern, from past movements, so maybe Ripple will follow exactly what Bitcoin experienced before slowly recovering from its real bottom, that might be lower than temporary price.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC or ETH, what good to own now?? on: April 25, 2019, 11:33:35 AM
There is no guarantee for any coin as the future is unpredictable.
We only say Ethereum has a little chance because it dump so hard trading only over $100 right now, but like BTC did, it will recover.
ETH is a great coin, this is not for non believers, at this point, I still believe it's undervalued.
We should not predict future in crypto market, because it is finite market, and whales control it with their manipulations. So, let whales do their works, and our task is follow whales' movements to accumulate with them, and take profits with their boosts at right time. Fighting against whales manipulations will lead to losses. Whenever whales finish their accumulation, they will definitely boost the market up, because their final objectives as investors is earning profits from their invesments and manipulations.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SEMUX: Discussion on: April 25, 2019, 08:56:31 AM
SEMUX is a project that started in September of 2017, around two years ago. It is just 5 more months till its second anniversary.
ANN topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2159012.0
Currently, there are two available exchanges for SEMUX, but dominant volume has been on Tokok exchange.
1) STEX: https://app.stex.com/en/basic-trade/pair/BTC/SEM/1D
2) Tokok: https://www.tokok.com/market?symbol=SEM_BTC
3) Citex (Korean exchange): https://www.citex.co.kr/#/trade/2/77
Price chart (all time) on CMC:
One-day price chart:
Personally, with these two charts, the scenario in which SEMUX fall deeper is very rare. In contrast, SEMUX can recover from its current price around 6000 satoshi to about 9000 or 10000 satoshi. At the moment, there are gaps of price between Tokok and STEX exchanges. SEMUX has fluctuated in its very narrow range for months (you can easily see it yourself with two charts above). In addition, the SEMUX Core 1.4.0 v has been released recently, please visit the article for more details: https://medium.com/semux/semux-core-v1-4-0-has-been-released-bccc16048faf

458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 alternative coins to invest now for 2020 on: April 25, 2019, 05:07:10 AM
Totally agree with you. Doing own research before investing is the utmost important step to do for investors. Some components of projects should be considered during research process: team information (especially in the past, works, achievements, reputation, scam accusations), potential use cases of products from the projects, demands of community and the power of community itself( small or big).
I am glad that you understand the best way to get a very good project is to first of all do your own research, you need to understand what the project is all about and also have a strategy to discern the team.
Yes, it will save a lot of time, and also reduce risks for inexperienced investors. Invest into top 10 altcoins, when they dumped are good, and investors can hold them for months to wait for chances and take profits. It's less pressure of losses to invest in top 10 altcoins.
Quote
To save yourself the stress, first I will advise you look into altcoins that are at the top 10, majority of these coins has already bottomed and I think you can invest now, although the top 20 too are not guarantee that they will last for a long time, but for the main tim, they are still on top of their game.
459  Other / Meta / Re: [Experiment] Do shitposters care if someone replies to their posts? on: April 23, 2019, 04:44:37 AM
I'm assuming that's what they want to prevent - now you can only recycle your points thrice. (though I highly doubt it's actually enforced in that manner, as it's a huge pain if the thread isn't large enough to "print")
Forum already has rule on this issue, the rule #12. However, the issue is by now, there is no specific fixed amount of time of content duplications to call it is violation. By now, in my opinion, it is hands-by-hands identification on content duplications, but in long term, I think the rule should add fixed amount of duplication time. Moreover, what if topic creators changed their contents just a little bit, even not paraphrasing violations. I guess this is reasons why by now there is no fixed figure of minimum of duplications for this rule.
Quote
12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).
460  Other / Meta / Re: [Experiment] Do shitposters care if someone replies to their posts? on: April 22, 2019, 07:02:15 AM
Shitposters mostly don't care about the odds to get informative replies for their questions, or posts, what they mostly care about are their weekly (pay per week campaigns) or daily (pay per post campaigns) quota. Sometimes, I saw shitposters reply to answer for their original posts, so maybe (just maybe) small part of shitposters care about replies to their original posts. It might save their time (seconds) to find new topic to join and spam if their previous posts got replies. Nevertheless, in general having replies or no replies does not matter with shitposters, whom usually even don't spend their time to read OPs, or just fews posts in the last page before typing their shitposts.

They even don't care to click on the "Show new replies to your posts"!
It wil be very interesting if the Profile page has new line for: Total times you click on the 'Show new replies to your posts'. It might become one of useful factors to point out potential shit posters. However, this figure might contain several bias factors, but I don't think bias will be significant large, because shitposters will probably don't care to spend their time to click on that button to create fake statistics for their accounts. Instead, they are busy with their shit-post composing works.
Most of them just jump from thread to thread posting any nonsense they wasted 30 seconds thinking about until they fill their weekly "quota" of posts.
