6381  Economy / Reputation / Re: My account destroyed on: February 02, 2018, 09:07:38 PM
I logged in today as I always do to check what's new in the bit coin world to find I have negative trust. Funny since I'm a very trustworthy person. Negative trust is there for scammers and theives. It now says "trade with caution" my negative trust is for not reading. So apparently not reading means you can't be trusted or you a scammer. Perhaps I'm not the one that can't read but rather the person giving negative trust should learn to read.

One post and one mistake is all it took. My hero account I've worked on very hard is now worthless and pointless and I have a nasty red mark next to my name. I've never stolen in my entire life but ya ok now I have an untrusted red thing by my name.

People steal from others. Campaign managers sometimes steal and they receive nothing so what I learn is that being a thief is ok but spamming or not reading is not.

One post I was not concentrating with and wrote something silly. I want to see who never makes any mistakes? They act like all I do is spam when I actually try make good quality posts for my campaign manager who I've been with almost an entire year.

No problems about me just one post one random person didn't like and now years if working getting this account ranked up is gone.

I'm now done with this forum. There are not very nice people here and I really needed that money. I know noone cares and I'm expecting Boone to care because that's the impression this forum has given me. No respect and no kindness at all. It's a good place and I don't recommend this forum to people honestly don't.

Someone just needs to not like you and boom job and account gone.

My manager who I have worked with for a year didn't even speak to me so like I say there is no respect. You can try and you can try and you can help people and be a good member then have your account destroyed in seconds.

So I'm done. If you want me gone then good job I'm done. Thing that makes me the saddest is these people don't care that I'm actually a person behind this account and I'm a good person. I help people all the time. I have got people involved in the forum with irl people but I'll no longer be doing so because this is how the appreciation is shown. It makes me really sad that someone doesn't even think that perhaps this person really needs this money. Just bullies.

Good luck to you all and stay away from d2 members they will nail you for whatever reason they feel because someone decided giving them that power was appropriate. One person can mess your career up here.

They we're talking about rain in a casino and I was silly and make a mistake like I sometimes do because I am a human. So I thought they mentioned the currency rain.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1895018.0

Rain the currency had come out 2 months before I had posted the post that got me red trust. I was an investor in rain so when I was rain I thought of the currency. I don't understand why I must get red trust for making a mistake.

Here is the silly post I made one day when I was not concentrating properly and made a mistake:
https://archive.is/VtFbG#selection-5025.0-5029.100

It was a post made in June. I'm confused I don't know why I must get red trust for that post? Surely someone can pm me and ask what's up? They can make sure I'm not a spammer then? I find it insulting being called a spammer.

I know exactly what you feel. When I was reading your post I felt like I am seeing my own words. From few days I have negative trust too and like you I never scammed or did something so wrong that deserves to destroy my account. I am left alone without any answer from Moderator who gave me red trust.

I am filling like a criminal now on the forum. Like you I am here for almost 5 years. I am not a spammer or low-quality poster. I tried to help people if I only could. Never involved in any problem on the forum. So much hard work and lately I was working on few projects. Now I have to stop because of red trust. This is just heartbreaking.

I will never learn I think. I have read in past posts from users complaining about trust system. I was afraid of it but I was naively hoping that it would not happen to me.

I am happy to see that your account is recovered. This gives me a little hope.
6382  Economy / Reputation / Re: How can remove a negative trust ? on: February 02, 2018, 01:42:11 PM
If they haven`t accept your apologize, try to accept the fact that you have a negative trust. If you dont really want to have a negative trust in your profile i think you should create a new account and try to start fresh and take your experience in having a negative trust as a lesson.

I can not agree with you. Not all cases are lost. If a user is able to prove his credibility I think he or she deserves a second chance in some cases. There should be many aspects taken into consideration like the history of that person, rank, post quality, etc. Like I said before everybody deserves a second chance but that's just my humble opinion.
6383  Economy / Reputation / Re: How can remove a negative trust ? on: February 02, 2018, 09:48:10 AM
I recently reply at the topic about merits points, and no one clear to me if there is still a chance for me: "the post is quoted below"

I just want to make it possible to get any attention that might give me some words for this kind of matter

I am here to fix my own error
By the help deeds of actmyname i found out that i already made a mistake without knowing it
Here is the story and i already Private message this to actmyname.

I recently had been penalized by actmyname:

Quote
Actmyname: Very likely connected alts: {albert11, CornHub}

CornHub sent trust to albert11 with no reference, Legendary Member albert11 sends 50 merits to CornHub's post which is really just a general recycled garbage post.

My message sent:
Quote
SORRY
Im being arrogant in putting in test the new system rules " merits" it should be 5 merits and not 50, i just realized that i made a typo graphical error within giving a merits in user cornhub,  just saw my fault because of the red trust.
About the post i just want to help him in ranking up a little bit, also that's a part of how i will glad to thank him for what i buy in real life" ledger nano" in our meetup.

I hereby apologize for this thing
Looking forward for a chance.

If there any chance that i can made it right, please tell me.
I do want to continue at this forum, accepting punishment for my excitement.

No words can explain my fault
No words can even exchange for my wrong action

Again, I deeply want to say I'm guilty for what happened.

*edited some words that might not clear*

There is a statement on Actmyname profile page that you have to wait 72 hours before sending a PM or it will be ignored. Did you wait three days?
6384  Economy / Reputation / Re: How to remove negative trust? (from Hilariousandco) on: February 02, 2018, 09:02:54 AM
I even asked an off-topic question in a thread where Hilariousandco was active (I apologized of course and said that will be deleted), how long is an average wait time for an answer, but he never answered and deleted post immediately.
So let me get this right,
after you sent several PMs to the user, and didn't get an answer, you decided to follow them around the forum, spamming your questions in threads they post in?
And at no point did you realize that your actions were only going to make things worse?

Patience is a virtue.

You are right that patience is a virtue and I should wait more time. I am happy to see this answers because when I was searching for help in old threads some high-rank users advised sending PM's because sooner messages could be not read and deleted because of "pletoria" (quote) of things. Of course, my PM's where always in a very polite tone and with a subject that says everything. It was obvious about what is my message just after reading the topic. I did it on purpose to save Hilariousandco time.

Before I have asked an off-topic question I apologized and said that I will delete this post immediately. Now I know this is not best behavior but when you are confused and there are more questions than answers you can make a mistake, especially under pressure.

There is a legendary user Actmyname I found today after reading a post about negative trust. He fights spam and bad behavior like Hilariuosandco on the forum. I like his profile page where you can read: "IF YOU HAVE RED TRUST: DO NOT MESSAGE ME IMMEDIATELY. WAIT AT LEAST 72 HOURS OR THE PM WILL BE IGNORED." If a statement like this is added to Hilariousandco profile I will never bother him and wait calmly. Users should know what they can do next after receiving negative trust. This will save a lot of confusion and time.
6385  Economy / Reputation / Re: How to remove negative trust? (from Hilariousandco) on: February 02, 2018, 08:46:10 AM
I only say that I never traded merits with nobody and this was never my intention. Added an announcement in post that I missed quotation and from who, just after this happened. Read few next posts after referred one. Avatar was online for few hours. I have copied from legendary member Jeremycoin. He was using it until yesterday. No red trust is given to him even after I have pointed this out.

What did the avatar say?

Also, your post is a bit confusing.  You seem to realize you did something wrong because you turned another member in.  So why the complaint?

Avatar says I will give "merits 4 smerits". Avatar is too small to add that I will do that only for quality content. That is why I have added later merits policy like other users. I have to add that I saw this avatar in Legendary member profile https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=397611 that 's why I have copied it. Later I have pointed this out to Hilariousandco in my PM. I have seen this user used this avatar 3 days longer and there is no red trust given to him. There was more confusion with this avatar because I have problems to download him. Even if I have downloaded and seen new avatar on download page after refresh I have seen my old Envion avatar or no avatar at all in my account summary. I tried few times and finally left this because I had to go to work. Next day after login I saw negative trust and new avatar. I had such a problem with avatar before. There are proofs in my old posts because I was looking for help with this issue and talked with users about it. I can dig them out if needed.

I have used parts of posts from 2 users to help answer another user question without proper quotation. I have quoted them at the start (I think everybody uses quote because is fast and easier as copy and pasting) but after I deleted some parts, post was not readable and looks bad with my answer between quotations. So I did it without quotation and added that this answer is to find few posts above mine. Anyways, user reminds me that this is rules violation (in next post after mine) so I said "thank you for reminding me" apologized and added announcement ("To provide this answer I used content from other users ( added their usernames ) without proper quotation") into my post. Here is a link to post where you can clearly see that missed quotation issue was resolved just after it happens. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg29079837#msg29079837 . So why I got red trust for a mistake which was already resolved. This happened two hours before I have changed avatar. Later I deleted this post if this violates rules.

What can I do now? How to get my trust back?
Only hilariousandco can remove it.

From few days I keep sending PM's to Hilariousandco but he is not responding. From what I see on the forum this happens sometimes that moderators don't answer PM's about negative trust.
If you bothered me with multiple PMs, I wouldn't respond to you either.

I will not send anymore but I was very polite and considerate in my PM's.

I even asked an off-topic question in a thread where Hilariousandco was active (I apologized of course and said that will be deleted), how long is an average wait time for an answer, but he never answered and deleted post immediately.

I was searching today few hours in forum threads for help. I thought that there is somebody dealing with trust problems. I don't know moderator or a thread where you can add your case for consideration but I found nothing only more questions.

That is why I am here to ask more experienced users what can I do more?

Anyways, Thank you for the answer.
6387  Economy / Reputation / How to remove negative trust? (from Hilariousandco) on: February 01, 2018, 07:21:33 PM
Hello, fellow Bitcointalkers.

A few days ago I got negative trust. What can I do now?

I got negative trust for "Trading merit with those who leave him points as advertised via his avatar. Also copied content without proper attribution."

I don't want to argue if Hilariousandco was right or not because this will bring nothing good.

I only say that I never traded merits with nobody and this was never my intention. Added an announcement in a post that I missed quotation and from who, just after this happened. Read few next posts after referred one for proof. Avatar was online for few hours. I copied from legendary member Jeremycoin. He was using it until yesterday. No red trust is given to him even after I pointed this out.  Added merit policy to my signature and avatar: " meirts only for quality content, no merits in return, spam isn't good".

Anyways I deleted this post and avatar if this violates rules and added merits policy to my signature and personal text.

From few days I keep sending PM's to Hilariousandco but he isn't responding. From what I see on the forum this happens sometimes that moderators don't answer PM's about negative trust.

I feel like a criminal with red trust. I really am. I think nobody will take me seriously. I personally always look to trust after reading a post. I'm using Bitcointalk for almost 5 years with one account and never done anything wrong.

What can I do now? How to get my trust back?

6388  Other / Meta / Re: Merit rewards for Signature Campaigns! on: January 30, 2018, 01:41:48 PM
First, I think there should be a place where a post with no or very low merit count and few days age could be added for moderation and eventually awarded with merits. There always will be a chance to get merits for quality content.

Second, especially now early on there should be few merit sources searching for quality posts to award authors with merits.

I think this will be a lot easier to implement merit system with this two additional sources.
6389  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 28, 2018, 04:57:53 AM
Right, you should edit your post appropriately to quote ilpipita's post and my post.

So do you
Forum rules
~
quote pyramids
~

I have quoted at the start, this is not plagiarism at all, sometimes too many quotes looks bad and is not easy to read. This is why I said that answer is to find few posts above and then added when in hurry....

Just wanted to help. If somebody fills bad and thinks this is plagiat please delete this posts.

I meant nothing bad. Look at my sooner posts I always quote. But this time it looks bad as I said before.

I understand what you guys mean, and it is good to hear from you that you did not mean anything bad, but I still think it would be good to quote the original posts, and I do not think just quoting our two posts makes your post difficult to read.
In particular after introduction of Merit system people (maybe including me) are sensitive.
In any case this discussion itself may be wasting the board, I do not claim more but hope you get my point.
* To avoid a long quote I replaced some part by ~.

Just to sum up. I tried to quote your posts but sometimes when deleting parts of answers in quotations something goes wrong and the answer is not visible only looks like another quote. That is why I just deleted it and added: "when in hurry...". My mistake I should add an announcement about it. I just didn't think that somebody calls this a plagiat when the original post is visible just few answers above mine.
6390  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 28, 2018, 04:39:41 AM
I see that i have 5 smerits in my account that i can send to other people. if i send all 5 smerit to the quality poster then my smerit will become zero!!.so after that can i get any other smerit to send other quality posters?
And if yes then when will i get back this smerit?

If you read few sooner posts you will find all your answers.

In a hurry? Here you are:

The answer is:
1. When you give someone 4 sendable merits (sMerits). The one will have more 4 merits and 2 sendable merits which they can send to others or send them back to you.
2. You can get merits from others and you will also get sMerits which equal 50% of the total merits you received.

Merit
- You obtain Merit when someone sends it to your post.
- Merit not decrease unless demerit system is introduced in future.

sMerit
- For each 1 Merit you obtained, you also obtain 0.5 sMerit at the same time.
- When you send Merit to someone, you spend 1 sMerit (but your Merit does not decrease).
- Finally they ``reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future'' so it is recommended to use sMerit rather than keep it.

What is this? Are you serious?
You tried plagirising my thread without quoting. Your account is under risk of permanent ban from moderators and admin, you know that? You are extremely brave. If you want more merits, please compose your own thread and get free merits from others.

Up until now, I still can't understand all of this. See, I am a Full Member and have a 100 Merit and 4sMerit. What if I gave my sMerit to someone, how can I get sMerit again to be able to merit another member?

Right, I am sorry to see this kind of plagiarism due to the Merit system.
wwzsocki, you should edit your post appropriately to quote ilpipita's post as well as my post below.

There are Merit and sMerit, the former of which is related to rank up, but not the latter one.
The rules are as follows:

Merit
- You obtain Merit when someone sends it to your post.
- Merit does not decease unless demerit system is introduced in future.

sMerit
- For each 1 Merit you obtained, you also obtain 0.5 sMerit at the same time.
- When you send Merit to someone's post by clicking "+Merit" link for each post, you spend 1 sMerit (but your Merit does not decrease).
- Finally they ``reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future'' so it is recommended to use sMerit rather than keep it.

I don't see you have bad purposes but it's the rules of the forum. You want to help others but you also put you at risk. I don't think it's a smart choice. Admin or moderators might not consider about your situation. They might simply ban your account permanently.

I have added an announcement in this post about missed quotation. Thank you for explaining my situation. I was not aware of that.

Ja tobie a ty mi bedzie w kazdej sygnaturze.
6393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Merit System Upgrade in Altcoin Section: Receive Merit from me on: January 28, 2018, 03:19:02 AM
I will apply for your merits because I was just 2 weeks before rank up.

I know a lot of many alts.

Maybe are you interested in something and need an explanation?

I think everybody shall know that new altcoins like AION are called the third-generation blockchain.

Bitcoin was the first generation blockchain. These first-generation blockchains provided a solution to conventional transaction limitations by implementing cryptographically-secure, peer-to-peer, digital transactions that are verified by a decentralized global network and recorded into an immutable public ledger.
With the second generation of the blockchain, Ethereum introduced the ability to build application-specific logic upon a blockchain network. This enabled new capabilities beyond transactions to incorporate state, business logic, and multi-party contracts to be stored and executed on a blockchain and written to an immutable ledger. These concepts have been incorporated into other distributed ledger technologies and have led to the distinction of building a blockchain and building upon a blockchain.

Aion: the third-generation blockchain
In the future, blockchains will federate data and value in a hub and spoke model similar to the internet. The future of mainstream
blockchain adoption will be achieved by the development of a networked, federated blockchain to integrate these separate spokes. That
integrated blockchain network is Aion.
Aion is a third-generation blockchain network that will enable any private or public sector organization to:
Federate: Send data and value between any Aion-compliant blockchain and Ethereum.
Scale: Provide fast transaction processing and increased data capacity to all Aion blockchains.
Spoke: Allow the creation of customized public or private blockchains that maintain interoperability with other blockchains, but
allow publishers to choose governance, consensus mechanisms, issuance, and participation.
At the root of the Aion network is a purpose-built, public, third-generation blockchain called Aion-1. Designed to connect other blockchains
and manage its own robust applications, Aion-1 also provides the economic system that incentivizes interoperability in the ecosystem.

There is some confusion lately with EOS having all the benefits of third-gen blockchain is further enhanced by horizontal and vertical parallelism to address the long debate and limitations of scalability. Devs calls EOS first fourth-generation blockchain. But I personally think this is still third gen. with some features added.

Enough to surprise you?

Awarded 20 merit points to your post. Remember when you pass this on, don’t just give it to people you agree with, give it to people that can add something to the conversation, right or wrong. People learn more from being wrong than they do from being right.

Thanks. Indeed we wouldn't need a forum if we all agreed about everything. In that spirit, I passed the 10 sMerit on to the person I spend the most time arguing with. He would have been ranked up to Sr. Member next week and is definitely worthy of the title.

You are quite the class act (I was the person, who received the 10 merits from TheQuin)!
I´m also happy that we all agree that a forum particularly benefits from discussing conflicting viewpoints.

Instead of spending the 5 new sMerit that I now have due to your generosity for various good
posts, I´d like to dedicate them to the same purpose.

If anyone of you fulfills the following three requirements, I´ll give 5 merit to one of your constructive posts:
1. You were close to ranking up before the introduction of the merit system (1-2 activity periods away from a new rank)
2. You are an asset to the community that makes good and constructive posts regularly
3. You don´t exclusively post in the Altcoin subforums and care about Bitcoin

I am a match to point 1 and 2. Please check my account and judge by yourself if I am eligible to apply for merits. Not sure if I fulfill requirements stated in point 3.

I checked your post history and your an altcoin person. I’m not handling that. There’s a guy in that section that is awarding merit for altcoin supporters.

The thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2833111.msg29044855#msg29044855

Thanks for check and tip.

Please accept my apologies if this has been discussed, I'm not reading through 82 pages.

Currently, the forum's general protocol frowns heavily on the act of asking for positive trust in return for a transaction. Hell, I've been given negative trust (unfairly) for simply stating that I would conduct a transaction for free if the other person would consider giving me trust equal to the experience.

Should the sam rule apply, more seriously, to merit?

I just came across a post where someone explained a simple idea and then said "if you like my idea, send me merit." There is no negative merit, so an ask like this seems more serious than asking for trust.

What's the consensus here, if someone is asking for merit should they be penalized or ostracized or "corrected" as to the correct forum protocol to not do so?

Theymos stated that : Do not beg for merit excessively.
The trust system and the merit system are a two different thing, merits have been designed to improve the quality of posts of those who are here in this forum, and yes there is a consensus here. Because the merit system is different from the trust system you can have negative trusts if you are begging, selling and buying merits.
In simple terms terms you can have -100 plus trust rating even and have 1000 plus merits at the same time. Wink
Does anyone actually believe that the merit system will "improve the quality of posts"? You guys think that a bunch of people (not to mention certain national groups, but it will happen in that way, for sure) won't start to give each other merits for posts like "good sir, when airdrop"? I don't believe that the system was designed for the improving of the overall quality in the first place: it was designed for the slowdown of the forum activity. Quality will more or less remain the same, it's obvious. But what worries me is the existence of these "Gods of Merits" who can show their merit mercy upon their lobby champs, and rage upon the sinners. Was that really necessary? Couldn't that be done in some other way, without showing the muscles? Would someone from the management explain us why that title was introduced, maybe I've missed a philosophical idea that exists in the background of that act (which I won't call the act of absolutist power, although the resemblance is stunning)? Do you think that the act is in line with the very essence of the decentralized Bitcoin nature and everything else that blockchain technology represents, comparing to the banks, states, companies and other bs creations? Will any of these Gods give me 150 merits, so I can move to the next rank? I don't believe so. Will they deny merits to Satoshi because they don't know that it was Him who has written a "low quality" post? Will they give him merits if they learn that it was He who has written the "good sir, when airdrop" thing? Do we really need to associate personalities with the addresses/nicks and to introduce such a state-like central power to Bitcoin and communities that surround it? If management was concerned about the quality of posts, I think a lot simpler and more repressive system of, for example, some negative merits or something similar could be introduced. So, please, don't talk about "quality of posts" anymore 'cause it hurts intelligence. Hail to the Gods ('cause they give merits)! And cheers to everyone else ('cause they make the Bitcoin and the existence of Gods possible)!

I have exactly same fillings when it comes to Merit implementation. I don't think the main reason was to improve post quality and if, this should be discussed and tested before full implementation. I just think that this will make more damage as good in this forum. Another tool which could be easily abused.

I have a lot of question and doubts. Still, don't understand why we need these special users " Merit Gods "? Are they under control? Is there any spreadsheet for initial merit distribution? How to become a " merit God"?

Second, nobody likes to give merits because it fills like you are losing them.
This thread has been posted not even 3 days ago.
In these 3 days, "22,265 merit has been sent in total."
I would say that refutes your point, wouldnt you agree?

That was my filling when first used Merit to upvote somebody. But now understand that there is sMerit thanks to

You are missing a point by misunderstanding one of very fundamental characteristics of merit. You cannot send your merits to anyone, the ones you can send is sMerits (sendable merits). You won't lose your merits by sending sMerits to others. Please donate 1 merit if my thread is contributive and useful (at least for you)

Donated !

There is a big chance that even if you post only quality content you will be left with no merits at all.

First, people don't know what that is and how to use it. Second, nobody likes to give merits because it fills like you are losing them.

There will be a lot of abuse for sure. We will see merits sent to low-quality friends post and accounts providing upvotes for money or in exchange.

I see there is a discussion to add bad merits to downvote spam. I am afraid that people will use it as a weapon to downvote posts they do not agree with or just because they don't like the author.

THIS is how I feel as well.

Do you guys really believe that all people who deserve to be merited will be merited?

A like system will be better. Only higher rank people will be able to like posts, will be easy to filter out multi accounts and spammers.

I am asking myself why this tool now? Why so fast? We could just test it out before fully implemented.

You see, this right here is why we need a 'Like' button..
Folks like me, with limited sMerits will be less likely to give them to someone of higher rank, even for a quality post.

(gave you my last)

I can not let you sit there so empty. Here you are +1 for you too. I think we will see plenty posts like this. Just about Merits.

Can anybody confirm that staking is still working?

I tried it multiple times, but it always results in errors. Already increased gas limit, but this doesn't help.

I also minted a few days ago and it worked.  You have to wait a fairly long time to get a stake reward/minting unless you have a lot of coins, like over 200.    I am going to wait about a 3 weeks to a month between sending for one because I was wasting gas doing it for shorter periods.

I can confirm it, the minting of POStokens still works. I always check the gas price on ethgasstation.info and set the gas limit to 250000 before I mint the tokens, so far no problems.

I use only 100000 and lowest price from https://ethgasstation.info/  As for now I had no problems. When the price of POS Token is low and ETH transaction is expensive I just don't mint and wait until the price of transaction drops or POS Token is worth more.

I don't know what to think about this lending platform. Bitconnect is just an example of what can happen.

From another side, we all have seen how Bitconnect is raised in price before the dump.

When I try to send some tokens to Etherdelta I am getting an error message: there is exception added to contract or something similar.

Is this token closed for trade on ED? Please explain to avoid burning ETH for gas.

Please, can somebody from team answer this question. I am not able to send this token from MEW to Etherdelta.
