1  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: December 03, 2015, 01:28:42 PM
First time I hear of a problem. Server is still running smoothly as far as I can tell. Which Electrum version are you using?
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Old electrum in Ubuntu repository on: August 19, 2015, 07:56:25 AM
This is out of our control, please raise a issue with Ubuntu.
3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: June 17, 2015, 08:00:17 AM
Which versions specifically are you using? Releases are quite rapid at the moment.
4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Command 'history' gives error. on: May 11, 2015, 07:22:22 AM
This was fixed on the 28th of April and will be in the next version.

If you are able you could use the development version from https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum until the next release.
5  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 2.1.1 on OSX Crashes upon open - previous version then don't open either on: May 02, 2015, 07:43:19 AM
I've just made a new binary of Electrum 2.1.1 on OS X. The previous build won't work on core 2 duo CPUs. Sorry for the inconvenience. You can re-download it from the website.
6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum.org website requires nonfree javascript to load on: March 26, 2015, 07:55:09 AM
Would you please get in touch with the Free Software Foundation and work towards making electrum.org fully functional for users like myself that run LibreJS and refuse to run nonfree javascript?

Bitcoinarmory.com works very well for users that run LibreJS.

I'm not the webmaster but I still would like to respond.

This sounds to me like I'm a vegan, going to a fancy three star restaurant and then demanding they prepare their star dishes without any animal product.

It's fine you want to have a certain lifestyle but going out and asking people to change their ways just so you can follow yours makes no sense in my humble opinion.

We are not talking about software that sends your data straight to the NSA here we are talking about a social widget that adds a facebook button to a site or shows a picture in a pretty way.
7  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Leave btc in Change address? Or move it to regular address? on: March 20, 2015, 12:14:22 PM
There is no need to move the funds from a change address. If you want to send 2 BTC it will pull it from all available addresses.
8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Mac 10.7.5 with version 2.0.2- can't connect on: March 16, 2015, 09:35:16 PM
Can you start Electrum by opening a terminal and pasting this in
Code:
/Applications/Electrum.app/Contents/MacOS/Electrum -v

Please give me the output that it gives you.
9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum stuck? on: March 15, 2015, 07:29:53 PM
On OS X you can open Electrum twice, are you saying that's not an option on Windows?
10  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum stuck? on: March 15, 2015, 07:08:46 PM
The screen is waiting on your input for the second key. You need two keys to create a 2 out of 2 wallet.
11  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 beta version on: March 15, 2015, 10:02:36 AM
The Electrum website has been updated for version 2.0: https://electrum.org
Windows and OSX executables will be added soon.

I had a problem with Animazing's signature of electrum-2.0.2-setup.exe.  I did not have a problem with Animazing's signature of electrum-2.0.2.exe so I don't believe this relates to my PGP software.

Sorry about that, I've remade the binaries at one point to fix a problem with Trezor support. Could you try downloading the signature again now and seeing if it fits?

Hello,
i uninstalled Electrum 1.9.8 and now i tried to install version 2.0.1, but i get the following error:

Code:
Command python setup.py egg_info failed with error code 1 in /tmp/pip_build_root/protobuf
Storing complete log in /root/.pip/pip.log

I searched on Google and here on forum, but nothing fixes the problem.
Do you know how to fix this?

Python installed on my computer is 2.7.5+.

Could you give us the contents of /root/.pip/pip.log

Here is the log file: http://pastebin.com/B6F2SBZW

Can you try
Code:
pip install --upgrade six
and then installing it again? If it fails give me the new log.

14  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0 beta version on: February 20, 2015, 09:12:07 AM
Here are some notes from my preliminary tests on the new beta.

There is still an error on start up with the C Runtime Library loading correctly:

Any other output? Does the terminal window open at all? Kinda hard to debug this error without more output.
15  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Compiling Windows Version of Electrum 2.0 Beta [Not 100%] on: February 10, 2015, 08:47:00 AM
FYI: Trezor support should be build into the Electrum 2.0b2 .exe, if this is not the case let me know.

Most steps for producing a windows binary can be found in the scripts here: https://github.com/maran/electrum-winbuild although these instructions are for wine on Linux the idea is the same on windows.
16  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How do I obtain the individual Public Keys from my Electrum Bitcoin Addresses? on: February 08, 2015, 09:33:08 AM
If you go to the "adresses" tab you will be able to right click and press "public key" to get your public key.

Wether or not it's 'safe' to give out your MPK depends on your definition of 'safe'. The holder of your MPK won't be able to spend your coins, it can however see all transactions that you have made and will make in the future.
17  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 2.0b2 beta version on: February 03, 2015, 06:16:51 PM
Windows and OSX Binaries should be uploaded.

Please note that no portable windows builds are available for the beta and that debugging is enabled on windows by default, this to help diagnose potential problems.
18  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Encryption and Wallet Backup on: December 15, 2014, 05:22:40 PM
The twelve words are translated to the bitcoin addresses in a wallet. So in a form that is indeed the un-encrypted wallet and should be encrypted during transmission.

It's not recommended to transmit these words over the internet for obvious reasons, especially since this will not only expose the initially funded addresses but all addresses that can ever be created for this wallet. It's way worse then leaking just the private key for one address.

Something like Bitcoin paper wallet might be better, although that won't work with Electrum.
20  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum not opening, lost seed. Help needed ***Reward*** on: August 22, 2014, 08:41:21 AM
Just to be sure download a code editor like Sublime text and use that to open the file. Do you have an encrypted seed?
