21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SXC][NSFW] Sexcoin - New Android Client Release! on: April 29, 2020, 06:50:10 PM
TO ALL IN THE SXC COMMUNITY:

Hey guys, I'm new here. I was on the Discord recently, asking some questions and wanted to drop in and see if I could have a broader discussion here about the state of the coin and see if there's some interest in bringing this up for a solid second coming.

I have previous experience in the adult industry, albeit in the late 90s as things were taking off... but also have loads of business experience, having been at the helm of many companies, and currently working in a very public and active industry. I've got some ideas, and would be willing to put in some time on this, but I need to get a lay of the land and understand where we're at as a whole. I'm willing to invest time, energy, elbow grease, mining power, datacenter hosting, and my own cash (under the right circumstances).

I mined this coin some in 2018. I was dipping my toes into the Altcoin world, mostly to educate myself on the vast pool of different blockchains and to understand how all the various wallets and coins worked. A group of three friends and I ran decent sized (+/- 750TH)  mining operation from late 2017 through late 2018. Now, I maintain a very small Altcoin mining farm and recently purchased the Lucky Altcoin mining pool.

Few thoughts/questions:

1) My Mac wallet (recently upgraded to 0.15.2.1) has 0 connections, so it never updates the blockchain. It's frozen in time to March 2018. Is there a newer version of the wallet available? What needs to be done to correct this? Are there nodes I can add?

2) Who's ultimately in charge of this project? I'd like to schedule a conversation and talk some serious shop.

3) What's everyone else's thoughts about working towards a "comeback" here?

4) What are other needs? I see some hosting bills on the Faucet and Explorer. What else is needed? Anyone hosting a node anywhere? What can be done to breathe some immediate life and stability to this blockchain? How do we get a few more (reliable / constant) connections up?

Is the Mac wallet not compiled? File type says "Unix Executable" and opens in a terminal window. That's not gonna work for me.

The explore site has frozen up again... hasn't updated in weeks.

FYI - MurfCoin infrastructure has been updated (Block Explorer/Mining Pool/Seeds). Project is still running. Someday in future we can list and hopefully get the funds required to make the coin useful to shelters.

Can someone from the community take over the development of the coin?

I like mining this one ... i cant tell if things are going as planned or if the devs bounced . getting it fixed is no biggie the issues is having a team to tend to it .
its not a little thing to be responsible for a community.... do we have a way to find out what the deal is .
maybe a email someone can make with a 30 day on it we can send to every place the dev team left contact info

maybe this is the intention for things to be as they are

Their intentions aren't known because they've communicated nothing. I think it was a hobby or project for the devs, and they appear to have moved on. I'm not a dev or programmer, so I'm not sure what's involved in taking over... but I'd love to help do so if there was a way. I hold a very large number of these coins and could help finance some parts.

Also... I downloaded the MacOS wallet... and for about 48 hours it cannot find a block source. What's up?

Edit the config file for the wallet and add the nodes

addnode=103.110.146.138
addnode=80.211.1.45

So you released a non-functional wallet, too? Sounds like you guys need to get your shit together. I'm out.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin Black | PoW | Scrypt [DEBIT CARD] on: August 30, 2018, 08:49:11 PM

"The Credit Union" is not the name of the investment firm, we weren't going to release any information about the credit union's name, etc... until the debit card was officially released since they are a small local firm and has to follow the tax laws regarding crypto.  The investment firm (credit union) does have a license with Visa, they issue out cards to their investment account holders

But like I said in the other post, since the community showed low interest in the debit card we will be exploring new development possibilities, so you don't have to worry about a scam here, the few community members that did pre-order the card has already received a refund

Fair enough. Thanks for the additional info. For future reference... you should strive for better transparency and completely honesty. If you were trying to protect the investment firm, say that... without calling it something its not, and setting off alarm bells. If you want people to trust you... you have to work in a glass office. In this space... there's no room for ambiguity.

Kudos for quickly refunding the money to folks.

Just a quick question for the devs... you mention someone aunt knows the "owner" of a credit union... but credit unions are not singularly owned. They are member-owned institutions and there is not a a single or large controlling shareholder usually. So that bit of information doesn't seem accurate.

Can you explain in clearer detail, please?

The credit union is an investment firm not a physical banking institution.

We are canceling the debit card plans anyways,  pre-orders have been out for almost a month and only 3 people have pre-ordered (funds have already been returned)

We will continue development with more ideas and different approaches to improving Litecoin Black and maybe look back at a debit card option in the future.

There's an investment firm called "The Credit Union"? Who are these people? I'm confused. How is an investment firm going to issue debit cards without a bank attached? All cards have to be issued by a financial institution with a license with Visa or MasterCard.

I'm not trying to bust your balls... but some of this sounds like bullshit. Transparency, honesty, and absolute details are what makes or breaks success in this realm. If you're only telling half the story... you're leaving too much to the imagination. And in a realm where scammers are at every friggin' corner, leaving ANYTHING to the imagination is stupid, to put it mildly.

Hi vegascoinpool,

The monitoring for the main seed node failed, and I did not see that the chain had stalled. It's back now.

In terms of doing something with the coin, I did try to get it listed on major and minor exchanges, but it was probably poor timing as the whole market was dying at the time.

Do you think you could help with getting it listed?

I'd love to try. I wonder, though, if it's a situation where you may need to pay for a listing on a high-quality exchange in order to really make it work. Perhaps there could be a donation wallet (usually in BTC) where you take in donations specifically to meet the listing fee on a higher-qual exchange? I realize that's a big ask from people who don't know you from Adam, but I wonder if it may be the best way to lift the coin up?

I asked above, but will again... what would it take to effect a takeover here? What’s involved?

I like this coin. I have a lot of it. Would love to create some community here, and if the lead dev is MIA what can we do without him?

Thoughts?
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antrouter R3 clock/portable router coming soon on: August 03, 2018, 11:24:19 PM
Anyone know how to take this R3 out of solo mining mode? I thought Bitmain said it was compatible with pools and other coins, but they of course promised no results. I can't even see where/how to configure that in its interface (as opposed to the R1)

Guys... can you please whip up a MacOS Wallet? I won't mine a new coin until I can store it on my secure wallet machine.

Thanks in advance.

Your explorer has been frozen since June 22nd. Can you look into that?

I'd like to make a sizable Fluff donation to the rescue wallet, but I'd like to see you actually do something with this. No work as the lead dev towards a listing means the coins have zero value outside of the ten of us who appear to be playing in this sandbox. You say its a part time project, but honestly I don't see you spending ANY time on it. Recruit some folks if you can't spend any time on it. Or had it off to someone who can actually make it do what you intended for it to do.

Not trying to be a dick... but come on. Let's go already.

Someone please say that the project is still growing. I am intending to remove them from my computer

Hey Folks - I am still here, but this is a part-time effort. I pay for all of the hosting/pools etc still, so I have not abandoned it, but I really did not have the time to get it up and running on an exchange.

If people believe that this could get listed properly, I will of course support it, I have not gone anywhere :-)
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MurfCoin] 23MM Coins, POW, Now Listed!, Help Puppies! [FLUFF AIRDROP] on: April 26, 2018, 07:06:08 AM
Well the Dev has been offline for over a month now... I don't want to see the vision of this coin die and I'm sure I am not alone. If by the end of the month, Dev has not returned, I will be taking over the project. First priority will be getting on an exchange, and I will take over the donation process as well.

Bad news is, all the coins in the current donation wallets can't be accessed. But the good news is, that means less coins currently in circulation, which might help bring the price up and help us save more rescue animals!

Until the original dev has signed off, I do not support any takeover. Fork your own coin if you feel the need to carry on the mission, but until the original dev has said (which he hasn’t) that he’s out, I support no changes.

Attempts or efforts to get listed, however, I’m happy to support. Let me know what you need to help.

now i do have 1 question for all of u t1 buyers....y did u decide to buy these when they only work for 2 pools?? doesnt that limit your choices pool wise??

I didn't buy one of these... but wanted to chime in. The early buyers did not KNOW about the AsicBoost issue, so they bought not even knowing there would be use limitations going forward.
