News: BIP91 seems stable: there's probably only slightly increased risk of confirmations disappearing. You should still prepare for Aug 1.

Trying to compile the gui wallet on linux ubuntu system and getting an error. Is there anyone around that can help?

What's the error?

Running the following in:

qmake (runs fine)
make (gives below error):

src/key.cpp: In member function ‘bool CPubKey::Derive(CPubKey&, unsigned char*, unsigned int, const unsigned char*) const’:
src/key.cpp:730:69: error: ‘class {anonymous}::CSecp256k1Init’ has no member named ‘ctx’
     bool ret = secp256k1_ec_pubkey_tweak_add(instance_of_csecp256k1.ctx, (unsigned char*)pubkeyChild.begin(), pubkeyChild.size(), out);
                                                                     ^
make: *** [build/key.o] Error 1

Have you installed secp256k1?

Following something similar to :
cd ~&&git clone http://www.github.com/bitcoin/secp256k1&&cd  secp256k1&&git checkout a1d5ae1&&./autogen.sh&&./configure&&make&&sudo make install&&cd ..

Love the idea!

May be a little late in good old Manchester as I believe "Mobike" are no here (Or I could get them to accept Bitcoin!) but roll with the idea I like it.

Looking forward to this. While the event is focussed on n00bs will more experienced investors/traders get anything out of it?

Thanks for your message, although this event will be aimed at beginners with the workshops and speakers (to a degree) we still have a diverse range of people attending (helping us out) who work in all levels of crypto/bitcoin projects so it's definitely worth attending

Hi all,

CryptoCloudHosting.org
is set to undergo a range of updates including:

1)- Removal of coins : All coins are currently being analysed for volume, price, project development, community activity and available APIs with the coin present

2)- Addition of new coins : New coins will need to meet (and keep to) a new set of standards - If they fall below this standard we won't immediate remove them but we will work with the respective team to discuss their options

3)- Front-end redesign : This has been in the pipe-line for awhile now, a complete website redesign from the ground up is much needed.

4)- Back-end restructure : In-line with changes being applied to CryptogiveAways.org we will be updating our payment systems structure and adding additional features to our services including an affiliate program and possibly an API.

The timeframe for these is the tricky part, during 1,2,4 the temporary site will stay live aswell as our services. During 3 our website will be offline. A timeframe will be issued as soon as possible.

We have had multiple API issues recently with low volume coins/inactive coins and temporary disabled coins, so we are redesigning how we feed the prices into our payment system on a more reliable method - The one big options is to build our own coin price/last price/high/low API but as always :time: will jump in the way

Hey guys,

Quick update:

Our Brighton Digital Festival event page is up : http://brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/events/bitcoin-an-introduction.

Exhibitors have been added to the main website, we won't have a room full of them as we are aiming this event at beginners but expect to see Bitcoin/Crypto goodies, hardware wallets etc on sale.

Hey guys,

I am co-organising a crypto/bitcoin event to be held on October 28th 2017 in the heart of Brighton. Plans are moving along starting to lineup speakers - aiming to keep it at a beginner level really. We will have the awesome Matt (Portsmouth Crypto) and Greg Walker hosting workshops! and exhibitions at the event (Including the awesome PhysiBit).

We will top the night off with an after-party  Grin

We are teaming up with the Brighton Digital Festival, to host an "Intro / Taster Bitcoin event" at the festival around a month before the BitBrighton event, this will include a workshop (From Matt - Portsmouth Crypto) and a Crypto Q&A)

Website is being built at; BitBrighton.org, I have set up a meetup.com group here: https://www.meetup.com/BitBrighton/, which is showing good interest - you can find some more details there.

Currently coins jump in prices that are up, then down. How is this consistent with stability? Or do you mean the stability of the functional representation of your coins?
I apologize for the bad english ...
Hey, no problem.

Yes the stability of the wallets, we have had a few wallets which keep crashing (daemons) they are no good for our automated system! We put them under stress test for a week or so, throw some transactions at them and see how they handle the resources we allocate.

Update:

All balances have been zeroed and will be kept that way for the next few weeks while we work on some back-end features. We will keep you posted.

when will this be fixed.. This was the best faucet ever!

Thanks! Just working to implement some important changes, hopefully back live soon.

Thanks for following 😀

Great. also, any chances on adding new coins too? Smiley

Hey, yep indeed. We are currently testing BritCoin but we are open to suggestions but we assess each coin before we add it and test it's stability.

http://emc3.cryptocloudhosting.org offline for awhile, re-indexing.

Explorer seems to be showing dates from 1970!

Don't worry, on my mental ignore list already.

I'm looking into the blockchain explorer http://emc3.cryptocloudhosting.org now, balances for several pub keys are odd. At least I think it needs to run it's node behind once with a -rescan flag, if still not equal probably the local DB is messed and a new download of the chain might be necessary.

Edit:

Example here (have a fresh download locally with the privkey inside wallet.dat from the beginning)

http://emc3.cryptocloudhosting.org/address/EJnT383rYV6UHckWqdfv9ckcFtYLv3z2Az

where there everything is fine and matching my local balance:

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/emc2/address.dws?EJnT383rYV6UHckWqdfv9ckcFtYLv3z2Az.htm

That was one of the things on my to do list for today, just a quick check over the client on the server.

Block explorer will be offline for a short while, I will pip back when it's back up.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ESL Coin & Try English App (ICO Coming) on: June 20, 2017, 08:36:37 PM
Hey guys,

I would like to say thanks to Andrew for inviting me into the team, as some of you know I have worked with Andrew on CoinFest for over two years now, bringing CoinFest to the UK. I hope to bring my experience of business-to-business contacts, fundraising and business knowledge to the project. I will also be offering support with my crypto-dedicated hosting company and helping promote the app via CryptoBatesGroup.

Aswell as Andrew I know Isaac personally, he has an amazing vision with design and is a very dedicated to his work - The type of designer we need for this project!

I am hoping to dedicate more time to this project in the coming months, the team is very active on Slack, plenty of ideas being bounced around.
