Hello all. I don't know if anyone has brought this up but the paper wallet generator is not working. https://bata.money/paperwallet/?currency=BataCoinAfter mousing around it comes up with this error message (on Firefox browser): TypeError: janin.selectedCurrency is undefined Also, does anyone understand why Livecoin exchange is showing such high volume on coinmarketcap? I find that very suspicious. For your first question, did you download from Github as per instructions on the page? see below: Step 1. Follow the security checklist recommendation
First step is to download this website from Github and open the index.html file directly from your computer. It's just too easy to sneak some evil code in the 6000+ lines of javascript to leak your private key, and you don't want to see your fund stolen. Code version control make it much easier to cross-check what actually run. For extra security, unplug your Internet access while generating your wallet. Second, the volume on Livecoin at present is just $49 usd, but in the past it was quite high, when I tweeted about it, it appeared to stop. Yes it seemed suspicious imho.

I have been taking time with this process so that we can be seen as being fair and giving those the opportunity to purchase some Bata.

No one buy this coin ? What wrong ?
No ICO No PREMINE No scams No Sagas No outrageous claims I see many cryptocurrencies out there, not mentioning names that have larger market caps and have had numerous sagas and scams still going strong, so I ask myself the same question. this looks interesting. We welcome all input and feel free to add to the discussion. Thanks for your support.

Just a rough spec put forward to consider
What do you think of these specs - based on Blackcoin POS 3.0
Stake Rewards: 10% (block 350,000) | 5% 2nd (block 450,000) | 3% 3rd (block 550,000)| 2% (block 650,000)
PoS Min Stake Time: 8 hr Transactions: 10 confirmations Confirmations: 10, maturity: 500 Min stake confirmations: 500 PoS Reward: 1.5 BTA 60 sec per block Difficulty adjusts every block Block Size: Scalable up to 8mb
Optional TX Fee: .0001 BTA (paid to masternodes) Anon TX Fee (Darksend): .01 BTA (paid to masternode) Masternode Requirement: 20000.0000 BTA (Minimum and Maximum) Masternode Rate: 2% Block reward
Seems reasonable, But by block 650k you would need to have alot going on, 2% isnt much incentive to stake This is just rough, so nothing is set in cement. We can increase rates before deciding.

nova exchange is dead
you must all withdraw your coins from it
Thanks for letting us know. Please ensure your BTA is safe in your wallet, not on an exchange. Please exercise caution when using exchanges, the safest place for your BTA is in your locked, backed up wallet. https://novaexchange.com/message/ Please withdraw your coins from Novaexchange. The exchange has been attacked and caused some trades in certain markets - to be honest - has messed up balances in a few accounts.
Please withdraw your coins from the exchange - right away. And do not send any coins here! Any deposits will be rejected!
Dont forget to click the verification link inside your e-mail in order to activate the withdrawal.
More information can be found here
System notice Everyone, please withdraw everything from Novaexchange - Everything!
Also DO NOT send any coins here! I repeat DO NOT!
ALL TRADES HAS BEEN STOPPED, ANY DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! WITHDRAW YOUR COINS NOW!
An vulnerability has opened up for a specific user give themselves an insane amount of Bitcoins. These has been used to trade in the markets, balances has been re-arranged.
All in all, BTC, DOGE and ESP balances cannot be trusted, the vulnerability caused the attacker insert a transaction within deposit systems. But did not think that Novaexchange is a young exchange that doesn't bank a lot of coins. The total volume of BTC in the most important wallet was 3.82 BTC before the attack, not a huge amount but that does not mean it is not painful for some.
The attacker themselves did not get away with anything - actually it is happy users that got traded in ESP market during the last few hours that became happy they sold for BTC and withdrew everything. Which caused the wallet to go empty.
All trades and such is logged and I could technically do a rollback of all trades even if it will take a lot of time to sort everything out. Which would you prefer? I am concidering to close down the exchange permanently once you have withdrawn your coins, unless the community gives any reason for Novaexchange to stay around. I wanted the site to become a serious player in this business with a lot of alt-coins that other exchanges refuses to trade, that was the idea behind Novaexchange.

i hope see BTA on poloniex and low POS percentage Only time will tell. A low POS seems to be what I am hearing. (most economies only grow 1-5%)

i think BATA is gonna be a sweet POS kind of coin via la TOR evolution!
Thanks we appreciate your support and contribution BTA.

Low memory use is important
Nothing worse than a poorly designed Staking wallet chewing up all your CPU memory. I always cut them.
Look to 1ex wallet for as low as you can go.
will do thanks for the tip

Regarding the specs of POS for BTA: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1451485.0https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1431805.msg14486879#msg14486879i dont think you want to go higher than 15% the concept of this coin is not about staking its about your roadmap (Barter platform) but for keeping the network strong you need people staking so % point can't be over looked personally i would like to see atleast 10% if your a staker coin enthusiast you can only run so many wallets at any given time to low of a % point and people wont keep wallet running if they have multiple stakers im speaking as a person who stakes alot of coins ,many people might not care about % point, for me i have to justify running wallet, no different than mining a coin
im invested in bata becasue i like the dev/roadmap/community i realize staking is secondary ,but its always nice to earn a little interest on your investment while waiting for development
my 2 bata low memory use / fast stake time / under 15% Requirement for staking 1000 BTA pr block my ideal number is that at least the Top1000 accounts have a chance of staking every 24/hrs, Top3000 is even better the trick then seems to set a max limit on block reward, and have quick hold times, perhaps set 12hr hold on new block confirm/release
PoS variants with security deposits - in these variants you must lock a part of your coins to receive rewards. That means that for the time you lock you coins, you are backing its value because you cannot sell them.
I like PoS variants with security deposits, like in Decred and perhaps in Ethereum in the future.
In these variants you must lock a part of your coins to receive rewards. That means that for the time you lock you coins, you are backing its value because you cannot sell them. short min. hold time is an imperative:
1. if the network is running low on stakers and has super low diff. then a regular accounts that always stakes will be able to keep the network going.
2. now a whale with a super large chunk might game to hit a block every unit of minimum time (but they can be put in check via the max reward limit). if not this would cause big diff spikes seen in intervals of min. hold time, btw
3. stakers could run large wallet.dat files (dust bins) so that they are geared to stake 24/7 but they will likely have to wait weeks before the small lots gain weight, so these full time stakers will insure that they have a longtail of dust that eventually smooths out to an efficient staking of blocks ... they will basically act as seednodes as well ... so the trick is to make sure that they can help keep the block speed 'regular' and thus the diff chart 'smooth' PoS Specs do matter , longer minimum stake times are required to keep the wealthy from monopolizing the Staking Process Which the current PoS3 & PoSP ignore, which will decrease their adoption rate by the majority of less wealthy users and hurt them in the long run. (In one economic regard, they function like PoW, only the wealthy will see the most profit.) (However if they increased their minimum stake age to 15 days or more , they could remove that issue.) (They could also increase their interest rate to 5% per year and be a decent competition to Utility Stocks.)

Can it be mixed pos and pos % plus let's say 0.1 or 0.05 per block. In the time it will finish evrybody close the wallet and open once a week or something Mining is not part of the solution due to the limitations of any algo, when a large mining pool or miner is just mining for profit it leaves no room for equity in the BTA marketcap. If anyone disagrees with this, please let me know why.

POS voting won with a clear lead.
Voting has now been reset and we now will discuss a percentage rate of staking as it appears to be the most asked question.
Please vote according to your preference.
