I had a little over BTC1,000 then lost most in the MyBitcoin & Mt. Gox incidences. I hold under BTC20 at any time now.

How did that happen? Is that a wallet site? That is a lot of bitcoin and is a big lost. I just couldnt think of sonething that I will do if I lost that much.

Yes... About the MyBitcoin Theft that effected me:
Time: Unknown time in July 2011 (claimed it was a process)
Victim: MyBitcoin & customers
Status: Thief unknown, planned shutdown suspected (disputed theft)
Suspects: “Tom Williams”, likely pseudonym (founder of MyBitcoin)
Amount: Exactly 78739.58205388 BTC
Equivalent USD: 1110544 $ (wt. avg, definitely >$1M, rounded to nearest $)
Equivalent in June 2013 BTC: 10600 BTC
Transaction information: none
Little information was released about the MyBitcoin theft, however, many argue that Tom Williams ran it as a scam (and was not a theft per se). In terms of both dollars and bitcoins, this was by far the largest theft, however, it is possible it was simply a scam. Although MyBitcoin offered to release its code as a gift to the community, it failed to follow through on that promise. In the months ensuing, some evidence has been uncovered supporting mortgage broker Bruce Wagner; however, any evidence is inconclusive.

The theft resulted in the closure of MyBitcoin, which was once a successful Bitcoin company in Bitcoin's early days.

My biggest mistake was putting my BTC in MyBitcoin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTVUA8K4xlA

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin XT - Officially #REKT (also goes for BIP101 fraud) on: December 14, 2015, 04:37:02 PM
Are we supposed to be using BitCoinXT yet? I forgot when we are supposed to change, I'm lazy and haven't moved over or read about it.. I just don't want my 1 PH/s farm to abruptly work on the wrong chain.
If you want to support BIP101 support it now, if you do not then don't. If you are only concerned with being on the biggest chain wait and see what the other miners and the economic majority will do come January. If you are mining on BIP101 however there is no danger of being on the smaller chain since BIP101 will only activate with a mining majority anyway. Furthermore I presume that with the hash power that you have you are mining with a pool? If that is the case it is the pool that decides which code is being run, unless you are mining with a pool like Slush which gives miners the choice which implementation to support.

Yes, Mining with a pool I just switched from Slush to eligius.st this morning. So if there is no risk because the pool I'm on now handles things I really don't care one way or another... I'm thinking of just using Multibit HD for my hot wallet anyways, and it looks like they'll handle the change for me.

Thanks for the response.

9  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best mining equiptment for the money not having to pay for power on: December 10, 2015, 09:54:14 PM
I'm trying to find A1's on ebay, and I'm not able to find any... Are they BitMain or made by another company? Yeah, You're right, I am looking for a bigger bang for my buck, but also if it's using more power then I will need to buy more PSU's, so i'd need to calculate that too.
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best mining equiptment for the money not having to pay for power on: December 10, 2015, 09:38:57 PM
Great, Thanks for your help! I think I'll shoot for the S5's then.

Head's to eBay
11  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Best mining equiptment for the money not having to pay for power on: December 10, 2015, 08:18:26 PM
I found an office that does not charge for power, so I've rented it out for the intention to run a small mining farm.

I am thinking I can buy cheaper older hardware that uses more power, but I can still make a profit.... What mining equipment is out there that can be purchased today to turn a profit?

Thanks!

I am sad about Gavin Andresen recent choices. Sad

He could have done better just helping bitcoin core itself.

Yes.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this price scaring anyone ? on: August 24, 2015, 04:03:55 PM
The price drop is due to the bitcoin XT drama.
But it is not scaring me and I am currently laughing at those people who are selling their bitcoins at this much low prices.

You really think these are low prices? You would be sitting really good if you sold every time someone said this.

Price of bitcoin at time of post: $503
Calling the Bottom

Price of bitcoin at time of post: $260
so you cry cuz of the low prices ? good. sell them to me and make rich so i can take a bath in your tears.

etc, etc, etc...

Right on.. AGAIN... Good prediction! Happy that I sold in preparation for this.  Cool

We are approaching the fourth and last in a tetrad, a series of four consecutive total lunar eclipses in 2014 – 2015.

I watching day Sep 28 2015, and hope to get some cheap coins.

Did you not just say I was a troll? When you have no knowledge of the situation? I feel like you should just shut the hell up and go on with your superior knowledge of the crypto world. Maybe write a book about how much you know. I'll buy the first copy! how about it? I'll give you 10 doge? That's probably overvaluing it a bit but I'm willing to pay double the value if it's going to be that good.

you are trolling right now. justscrewit, get a life. (if you do have a life, you suck at it)

EDIT: Nerve mind, I found it: http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/Nxt_API

Hi,

I am trying to call my NXT wallet to make transactions over RPC, but I noticed that NXT is very different and does not have RPC. I have written a .NET application using C# to talk to BTC's wallet over RPC.. How can I do something similar to NXT to automate my transactions from wallet to wallet?

I can't seem to find any documentation. Can someone please help?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] LatinumCoin (LAT) | PoW | No premine | No IPO on: July 11, 2014, 04:34:28 PM
What I do like in this coin from the start is:

1. Fair launch:
- There was no pre-mine. Everyone has a fair chance to mine, trade, and know about the coin.
- Not just releasing open sources at the launch, but also windows installer! This way users of any platform could join fairly. Small advantage for Apple "geeks". Mac binaries were also released soon after, so the others could join as well when the diff is still low.

2. The coin works and didn't encounter any real issues.
Transactions confirm smoothly, and quickly. It's very stable.

3. Devs take care
The dev's are active in the LatinumCoin forums. I saw them fix an issue within the same day that there was a problem reported.
Unlike in many other cases you don't have to wait for weeks without any support.

4. Growing mining community.
Watching the network hash rise every day shows the strength in the growing community.

Yes, I like to watch the price growing and watch the price with LTM in my wallet.
Very nice surprise, exceeded my expectation!

But I am also here from the time LTM wasn't listed by Coin-Swap today.

There's a small community for LTM and it is steadily growing, and more sites accepting LTM. This Could really help to make a strong community.

What is the most important for me is they are in this for the long haul.
