1  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: May 15, 2020, 08:22:00 AM
I thought the setting was more just to let the software know how much power the supply could provide, not how far to push the actual miner. I'll give it a shot with far less aggressive settings.

Thanks for the fast response!

OK, that made a huge difference. It finished tuning, and I went from around 25 TH/sec with stock firmware to 31 TH/sec total.

I'm using a BitMain APW5 PSU for each one which are rated at 2600 W each. So I set it to 2600 W since I am running on 240V. If this is incorrect, what should I be setting it to?

They were both bought in May, 2017. One is a 13.5TH and the other a 11.5TH.

How long does auto-tuning take? I installed Braiins OS+ on two S9's and let it run all night. I'm getting horrible hashrates and it still says "Tuning individual chips" on both of them. It has been over 10 hours.

So it ran all day and still, terrible hash rate and said it was tuning. I rolled back to the stock firmware by pointing it at the backup and now with stock firmware it is hashing terribly as well.

How do I completely reset back to factory?

bos-plus-toolbox.exe was used for both the install and uninstall, including the backup.

You are correct. People just want everything handed to them without researching and reading.

That is a little harsh. This thread isn't exactly easy to search and find things in, and the text on the site isn't all that clear.
5  Bitcoin / Mining support / Run three S9 off of two APW5 PSU's? on: December 14, 2017, 09:36:58 AM
I currently have two S9's running off of one APW5 each, using 240V supply. There are a lot of extra PCIe connectors free. From what I can tell, it should be fine to run a third S9? It appears all that matters is that each hashing board is on the same PSU, but both boards don't have to be. Anyone doing this?

Is there a list of all the servers we can connect to? I'm not seeing it anywhere on the site, but I may be blind.
The thread title here Smiley
DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA
replace stratum with any of the above
e.g. nya.kano.is
You can ping them to work out which is closest.

Perfect. Thank you.

Well you'd have to look for rejected blocks in your bitcoin debug.log

Would that be these?

Code:
warning='20 of last 100 blocks have unexpected version'

It's ok to send it to an Exchange, well I'm my case it is Volabit ( not sure if it's considered an exchange).  I just let the BTC accumulate there until I get like a 0.5 or 1 BTC and then I transfer them to the hardware wallet (if I don't sell them right there and then).  I think it is completely fine just don't keep too much BTC there, I personally don't let it go over 1 BTC.  For me Volabit works the best, I like the page layout, notifications and they charge me barely anything for pulling my BTC out.  I've never had a problem with any of the transfers from them, and it Has been always very quick for me! Smiley

I'm a little confused, why don't you just have the mining rewards go straight to your hardware wallet?

Mine is up now as well.
11  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with UMISOO hosting on: April 06, 2015, 07:16:54 AM
And mine are back offline again...
12  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with UMISOO hosting on: April 05, 2015, 11:19:26 PM
I can log in via UMISOO local login not Bitmain login but I can't change the pool conf, stupid Ant likely is now working on the wiring stuff / configurations our miners will soon be gone anyway

I don't have a local login. If you create one, does it give you the option to link it to the Bitmain one?
13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Problem with UMISOO hosting on: April 05, 2015, 06:52:16 PM
Just found out suddenly my miners went on-line, 8 are now mining at BTCguild, 1 at BTCchina, 2 at Antpool, rest are missing.
Stupid Ant you powered on my miners and you don't default the settings, what the fucking hell you are doing

Oh wow. Yeah, mine are running now as well. Looks like they started up about 8 hours ago.

I still can't log in though. I've always used BitMain login and I thought maybe it was because they were having problems. Now the login page looks fine, but I get a blank page when it tries to pass back to Umisoo. Anyone else having that problem?
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What is some affordable and good thermal paste / compound ? on: March 25, 2015, 02:49:02 AM
I bought 65 grams of Arctic MX-2 a few years ago since I got sick of buying little tubes of stuff. It is not quite as good as Arctic Silver 5, but it is still very very good and is non-conductive, non-capacitive.

It is available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-MX-2-Thermal-Compound-Non-Electricity/dp/B004YITI5M

Still nothing. Makes me think something is very wrong. They should at least have an ETA if they have a clue what is going on.
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 16, 2014, 04:45:25 PM

When you select it in basket there are links to the information. They will ship the S4 to the hosting directly, but you also need to make an account with Umisoo.

That part I have done. I'm talking about once you log in to Umisoo. Tracking number shows they received it yesterday.

When I log in, it doesn't show any hardware but if I go to the "My Order" page, it shows an unpaid order for ~0.33 BTC. It also says "You must make a payment within 1 hour, or your order will be cancelled."

So my question is, am I supposed to pay that invoice before they actually start the mining? I'm worried because it most certainly has been more than an hour since I didn't even know that was there.
17  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: October 16, 2014, 03:00:06 PM
Anyone else choose Umisoo hosting? Do you just pay the hosting fee up front they show in the "Orders" page before it starts mining?
18  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Umisoo hosting of Bitmaintech Antminers on: October 16, 2014, 01:32:28 PM
I had a S4 shipped there and it looks by the tracking number it showed up.

Is it based on pre-paying for the first month? I see there is an unpaid order in my account for 0.3385412415BTC so do I have to pay that before the miner goes online?

UPDATE: That is exactly what I had to do. Paid the invoice and then once they had the miner they set it up and sent me an email telling me to configure it.

20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANN: BITMAIN has Tested Its 28nm Bitcoin Mining Chip BM1382 on: July 01, 2014, 01:24:06 AM
Anybody that had their orders expire should check again. I am guessing since it is morning in China Bitmain is confirming orders. My order just turned green and says valid on the website.

Same here. Looking good.
