They look pretty similar by concept.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best pegged currency on: July 27, 2018, 02:32:37 PM
You can use bitUSD or bitCNY smart-coin on the decentralised exchange of Bitshares.
There is no need to trust a 3rd party for them, because it's the market that keeps the peg.

Volumes are quite high on them at the moment so you have fungibility.
bitCNY volume today : 17 millions ( https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcny/ )
bitUSD volume today : 700 k ( https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitusd/ )
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETHEREUM UNDER ATTACK BY EOS (with crowdfunded 50ETH/hour!) on: July 15, 2018, 09:54:22 PM
All that it shows is that ETH is weak if it can be attacked like that.
The rest is PR.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 21 Block producer of EOS can freeze anyone's account on: June 26, 2018, 02:51:42 AM
If you don't want account to be frozen,
you just have to vote for one block producer that will not freeze them (out of 21) and you'll be done.
Unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum where you would need to buy huge amount off hash power.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [BTS] Bitshares #1 Fastest Crypto, Tokens, DEX, ICOs since 2014 (unofficial ಠ_ಠ) on: May 01, 2018, 01:04:04 AM

Bitshares doesn't have programmable smart contract,
so no !
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela will launch a commodity-backed "petro" cryptocurrency (unmoderated) on: February 20, 2018, 03:37:26 AM
Correction : Petro is the unit name (like BTC), Mene is the Satoshi equivalent.

I think it will be a milestone in the cryptocurrency history.
At last, we will see if crypto is state resistant, and by state I mean USA/CIA.
For sure the CIA will try to attack the Petro which is threatening the USA petrodollar.

I'd be ready to invest, just for the middle finger to TPTB !!!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PRESALE][ICO][PoS] Petro: REAL venezuelan oil backed ETH based crypto on: February 20, 2018, 02:57:58 AM
Any info on how to buy it ?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Use Cases on: August 30, 2017, 06:42:43 PM
For reall stable coin, use any fiat pegged bitasset on the Bitshares blockchain.
For example : BitUSD BitEuro BitCNY BitGold BitSilver.
Well as long as you consider fiat as stable Smiley
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I had luck in which Alt I should invest now on: May 19, 2017, 01:09:11 AM
Come on guys, can't you see the OP is fake !

He said it from the beginning and didn't listen to your advice, and repeat again that he want to by those 2 coin.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A place to show various kinds of altcoin wallet balances in one cool place on: May 09, 2017, 05:39:08 PM
you can use this http://cryptofolio.info
They have a lot's of alt, but you will have to enter your balance on your own.
It's ok if you don't trade too much.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: December 02, 2016, 05:41:29 PM
Was wondering, I haven't researched these new programming languages being mentioned as the key to Synereo's success, but they
raise a question immediately, especially if they are still being developed.

Can one really trust a new language to create working solutions when that language itself has never produced a real world product before?
Can't existing languages just create new objects and functions to do what you need to do?

I guess the new language is to be used to program the DApp not the core of synereo.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone ever look at "Announcements (Altcoins)" anymore? on: November 25, 2016, 10:26:41 AM
We should make 2 sections :

- New coin, for all the new announcement.
- Old coin, for the announcement that are older than 3 months for example.

The threads would be moved from one to another automatically based on their date.
Optionally we could have a third one named trash for thread without a new message in 1 month.

With that you could follow what is happening in the good old coin without being bothered with the new crap.
And that will leave some visibility to the new ones without being overwhelmed by all the discussion in the old ones.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a stable cryptocurreny? on: September 24, 2016, 03:06:44 PM
BitUSD from the BitShares network is supposed to be stable (pegged) to the USD.
And it doesn't use a 3rd party trust as tether do.

The only problem is the volume of transaction that is low for now.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to track multiple altcoin in one place? on: August 04, 2016, 07:32:48 PM

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: cryptofolio.info - Free coin portfoilio with graphs!!! - Now with 330 coins !!! on: August 08, 2015, 02:19:10 PM
Is this website dead ?
The "add a new coin for vote" haven't worked in ages.
Too bad, it was a good tool !
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEM open sourcing core and looking for new devs, especially for the NEM wallet. on: April 23, 2015, 11:21:04 PM
So can you point us to the code for POI ?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Synereo: A fully decentralized social network owned by you on: April 20, 2015, 02:15:27 PM
Why do you post here if this tread is supposed to be dead.
We don't need twice the same info on the same board.
Talking about information overload you are not heading in the right direction.

Or just make an official announcement only tread !
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: April 08, 2015, 02:44:44 AM
How do you control all the interactions between one person and the content ?
If you do it by the network, then it will be a privacy nightmare, all your interactions with the content could be monitored !

If not monitored, you can't enforce it's trustfulness and you are susceptible to Sybil attack, or fake behavior.

That's where the DendroNET comes in, allowing a local consensus to be created. There's no one truth source (a centralized entity), but the part of the network around you can "vouch" for claims made in it.
Thanks for your answers, I'll continue to shoot Smiley

If there is no global consensus, how do you validate the distribution of AMPs ?

The fact that I read a post is made public or not ?

The only global consensus with have is for AMPs, which are a conserved quantity. That's what we use the blockchain and the Omnilayer for.
And no, it will not be made public. Generally, there are very few things that people on the network have to know about you if you interact with them. You have a lot of control over who gets to see what.

That doesn't explain how the network decide who get the Amp for reading content !?

Your node decides based on the view of the network available to it.

If it's my node, then I can corrupt it and make it so that it give me all the Amp that pass by.

Your node decides this only when it's the one investing AMPs in content. Smiley

So the node who is investing Amp in content knows who read it ?

No. You decide how much you want to invest (and can optionally select a few parameters and "strategies" if you want to use the advanced settings) and the rest is handled outside of your control.

I'm sorry but this is really shady...

Can you tell who is controlling this.
Please explain the different step from someone paying to have his content amplified to someone recieving the AMP for reading it.
- Where is the information rooted ?
- Where is the decision made ?
