Think it's people switching from MiddleCoin. MC is now only sitting at 19.9 Ghs

it's one user though

Maybe it's middlecoin or clevermining redirecting work here lol.
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 17, 2014, 10:22:24 AM
Everyone should have a fail-over in-case of emergency set anyway... basic mining principle.

Issues like lost shares do happen (probably a fair bit on places like middlecoin that just pause stats for ages...), but poolwaffle always seem to be on top of them for wafflepool.

But, PoolWaffle, why are you Blocks Found stats blank?  Data not lost I hope?

1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 16, 2014, 05:54:10 PM
I can't get to the we server at all.  The miner is pointed at wafflepool.com:3333 and seems to be submitting shares OK, but I can't verify via the stats?

Try with the IP, probably just a DNS issue.

Hey, something seems to be wrong.
I have password d=256, and it has been working since now. Now suddently I saw my hashrate
being 0.00 at http://waffles.wilschrader.com/
Then checked my rigs and two of them were diff 16 and hashrate was 200h/s (not kh/s).
Something wrong with the server?
Tip 1: check official site first, don't rely on a third party tool to be accurate.
Tip 2: set failover pools... lots of them

As an aside, I haven't had any issues today. And profits looks great so far.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - www.middlecoin.com on: February 16, 2014, 11:29:44 AM
I don't know why anyone would go from middlecoin to clevermining... clevermining hides just as much as mc... waffle is simply a better system to support, and payouts have consistently averaged better then .01BTC/MH and mining stradegies seem to improve all the time.  I mean, the clevermining admin didn't even you could predict block rewards for coins like doge and lotto until just recently <face palm>…

As for the weak payouts on middlecoin, I bet you guys were mining on the wrong kittehcoin fork and h2o didn't catch it almost all day. Lots of pools had a big orphan stretch because of the fork.
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X OC Hashrate? on: February 16, 2014, 11:14:16 AM
Stock cgminer doesn't support comma deliminated g parameters, so that might be part of your issue.  290s tend not to run very well with 2 threads (save the occational person that reports great results for who knows why...). Being capped around 860KH/s sounds like 2 threads to me - try -g 1 and see if you can get a better hash out of the 290.

As for sgminer binaries, I can't recommend anything myself because I compile everything direct from the git tree, but I believe the reddit announcement thread had binaries posted.  Also, you could try karroth's cgminer fork which I believe he provides binaries for.

You could also just run two copies of cgminer (one for each card), using -d 0 and -d 1 on the two instances. Many people seem to get better results out of heterogenious rigs this way (can't say myself, as I run all homogenius rigs with the same cards, oem, and bios).
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 16, 2014, 10:56:19 AM
Pool waffle,

Nothing left of that kittehcoin, with a worth over 6 BTC? That should be pretty fucked up!

Greets
Looks like almost all (90%) of it got orphaned by another fork. I found 2 of our blocks and both show as orphaned in block explorers.

Still a very profitable day tho, even with that wasted mining time.

From cgminer I see that I get tons of Locally Generated Work Items = LW:-number is high.
I've searched and searched for weeks. I found only one occasion that said it to bee really good thing, but nothing
more.

If the dev of cgminer said it is a good thing, I wouldn't bother thinking more about it.  If you want a full answer, read the source code - everything is available on github for your consumption.

If I had to guess, it is probably when you roll over ntime so you can use the same job for longer.

I've been using wafflepool for a couple of days and have accumulated enough BTC to meet the .001 requirement for the Sunday payout. Does anyone know about what time the Sunday payout occurs?

Server time seems to be PST (GMT-8), and payouts usually occur between 10:30 and 14:00.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC on: February 16, 2014, 03:08:03 AM
Do any of you know how to get the r9 290 to work with linux?  I've been having issues with opencl support, ect.
The same as every other ATI card, but make sure you use thr 13.12 drivers (earlier drivers and 14 beta won't work with the hawaii cards).
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC on: February 16, 2014, 01:48:16 AM
Why are you using such a low intensity? 820KH/s is pretty bad for these cards. They should happily run 900 with very minimal tuning.

Temperature. Too hot where I am at the moment to go any higher.
You find intensity increases temps?  I haven't observed that. The number of threads you launch shouldn't affect power consumption (and therefore heat output) unless you are talking about very low intensity. Only clocks and voltages mattered in any of my testing.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 15, 2014, 11:11:35 PM
My hashrate isn't working on the site anymore, sgminer is showing lots of accepted.

Waffle I think something is broken again.
No problems here, my hashrate is showing fine.

Lame about the kittehcoin fork, thanks for the quick update tho, poolwaffle. Hopefully some of our blocks were found pre-fork - painful chunk to lose on a day that was looking to be profitable. I mined 2 kittehcoin blocks for wafflepool today and both are showing as orphans now.  So much for my enthusiasm for this new coin.

How did testing cosmocoin go? It was.looking crazy profitable for a bit this morning after a heavy diff drop and increase in price.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 15, 2014, 09:32:28 PM
Something weird with the cosmoscoin addition? Looks like we mined it for a while, but didn't find any blocks (pretty unlikely for such a low diff coin).

Good work adding new coins tho - definitely key to keeping profitability up.

Is there any other miner having Confirmed and Unconfirmed coins that don't appear on the Approximate Unconverted Balance on the stats page?  IE: Emerald are still pending on my personal stats page, but don't appear on the Global stats page.  Maybe a DB problem???  Any clue would be appreciated, Thanks.
I think emerald was one of the coins that got removed. Probably needs to be cleaned up in the database.

Edit: looks like exchange rate issues? Our aprox. kittehcoin value just dropped to 0 and made the stats page graph look pretty bad.

Edit2: now I have a large negative amount of unconfirmed kittehcoins.  What's happening poolwaffle?

Yes, xintensity replaces/overrides intensity.  Are you using a version of cgminer (karoth's), or sgminer that supports.xintensity?
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 15, 2014, 06:05:21 AM
Lol... I just find it hillarious that someone is annoyed that someone mined 'his' coin down so much.  Only the strong will survive, and if a coin cannot withstand a volume influx and departure of the magnitute luckycoin saw today, then the blockchain shouldn't survive.  ASICs are coming to scrypt, and the days of tiny chains are likely numbered.

Starvation thru diff increases isn't an unlikely stradegy for trading either,  when you think about it.  If mining volume is an 'attack' on a blockchain, I doubt that chain will be around next year in any meanful or tradable way.

I have respect for developers that contribute something significant.  Look at it this way: someone exposed a potential attack algorithm against your design or system or whatever you say broke. Are you going to develop a fix, or just whine about it?

Qsrab: are you mining here? Did you check your payouts during the morning period?  If not, then I wouldn't suggest saying it was for nothing.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 15, 2014, 04:03:27 AM
Titan: obviously your block limiting system wasn't very effective at maintaining the network. Irrelevent of why we mined (if it was actually us) the diff so high, your problem is that the diff didn't drop quickly enough when the hashrate then decreased. Consider this a test that the coin failed to emerge well from, and develop better systems?

Hostmaster: you sure that wasn't unconfirmed total? I watch my stats closely, and everything seems very on the up and up here.  What does the earnings log show when this apparently happened?  All balance changes are justified in the log.
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 15, 2014, 12:26:30 AM
Anyone of the miners here on the wafflepool feel now responsible to pull the Luckycoin out of the misery you put it in?
Some honest answers please!
Build a better diff algorithm?  If you can't stand a small pool hopping on for a bit, what is going to happen when scrypt ASICs come around midyear?  I certainly can't speak for anyone else that is part of this pool, but I feel that 'testing' small alt-coins (sometimes to the point of their destruction) and rapidly trading them (sometimes even crashing the price) is a positive thing about profit switching pools.  Too many altcoins around.

On topic, domain is working again for me, although pie chart is still borked.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUTO-SWITCH] Profit-switch auto-exchange pool: CleverMining.com on: February 14, 2014, 11:37:19 PM
Comparing directly to wafflepool's displayed BTC/MH rates isn't exactly fair, since wafflepool will consistently accept more of your submitted shares, therefore bringing their total displayed hashrate up slightly (and therefore displayed BTC/MH down). In my side by side tests, neither pool stood out for profitability, but wafflepool's transparency won me over. My testing also showed BTC/MH on waffle to be 5-10% higher on average then projected, compared to a few percent lower then projected on clever.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 14, 2014, 11:25:36 PM
problems on the front end are fixed now
I still have to use the IP to access the front-end, and the hourly piechart is currently broken.  But hashrates are showing again.  Oh well, all minor details - wafflepool still kicking butt as usual.

I have been doing some testing with various parameters to see how much I can decrease coin switching lag.  I now think wafflepool should definitely reject 1-block stales, but provide some configuration suggestions on the website. Encouraging and rewarding miners for switching to new work quickly does seems smart.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 14, 2014, 08:42:25 PM
Hm ya, the site appears to be 'borked'. Now I can access by IP only, and there are no hashrates being shown. Looks like block rewards and shares are still being countes tho, so only a display issue.
