1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 14, 2014, 05:51:41 PM
Bitcoins earned decreased by itself!
it was 11 after 4 hours become 8 and now become 7! what's going on??? I m quitting here!
...
It moved from the "earned" to "sent" stat.  Since we paid miners
...
Lol... some people sure are priceless.

Poolwaffle:  is the site down?

Edit: ah nope, just shitty internet at my hotel. Working fine over RDP.

My fans still run at a very high intensity even after shutting down sgminer; with the above configuration. Anyone know what I can do to resolve this? Thanks!

Use MSI afterburner then click reset.

Haha that's what I'm doing. I thought therw was a way for it to auto-reset things as I exit the miner? No? Tongue
As long as you quit with Q rather then by pushing the X on the titlebar, the stock fan speeds should be restored.

Hi all :-),

I'm quite new to wafflepool and I have already searched some infos on a question that i'll ask to you all now, 'cause I didn't find anything on it...

On my stat page, it's quoted that I have found a block (chncoin).
What does it mean ?
Would I get some extra reward ? Or is it just an info ?

Thank you :-)

Just informative.  Finding blocks is cool, so it's interesting to see when you do.

I have found almost 700 blocks for wafflepool now =)
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X OC Hashrate? on: February 14, 2014, 01:11:47 PM
--xintensity ...

Of course things slow to a crawl if you remove intensity - it defaults to i 8 then.

I think the stats page is just broken. We seem to be switching and mining perfectly fine right now.

Oh, and chncoin is actually quite profitable on occation.

Can't believe you were acheiving the profits you hav been without.knowing that all the 'random' block reward coins use a known seed with a predictable rnd function - if this wasn't the case, you could specify max block reward for every block and it would be accepted by the network, obviously.

I will watch over the next few days and see if this pool has gotten it figured out well enough to deserve my hashes.  Profitability will have to kill wafflepool for that to be the case tho, given you are just catching on to some of the simplest tricks and still don't show any reasonable mining stats.
1107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 14, 2014, 04:27:03 AM
Could just be bad luck. We have bad days and good days, but if you stick with it, it evens out in the end.

Ok our pool has not seen blocks for at least 3-4 hours AND the altcoin has not changed according to the reports...its sitting on lotto.  The new update to the profit switcher must be malfunctioning.  We are mining the same blocks from lotto and getting nowhere.  I hope that PoolWaffle will respond with an update soon so we know whats going on.
We mined a doge block, so we aren't stuck on lotto. Based on diff, we are mining doge constantly right now. So ya, something is broken or stuck right now, but Doge isn't a bad thing to be stuck on. The pie charts aren't updating either. Poolwaffle will probably fix in the morning.  Looks like we got stuck right around when the doge reward halved... incomplete profitability algo maybe?

In better news, our leafcoin finally got exchanged ! Yay!

Hi Guys,

I try to build a rig with 6 R9 290 Tri-x.

With windows or Linux, The computer just recognize 5 of them.
An idea to put the 6 on the same rig ?

ps : motherboard is Asrock probtc and my pci riser are on usb.

Thanks,
First step is to figure out what the problem spot is - card, cable, or mobo slot.  I would.definitely suggest linux for all testing.

1. Identify the failing card by running 100% fan and noting the one that doesn't spin up.
2. Swap pci-e ports, try again. If a different card fails, it is then pci-e slot. Tell us which one.
3. Swap riser (change both 1X, 16X, usb, and power). If the other card fails, you probably have a faulty riser cable.
4. Finally, if 2/3 had the same card fail consistently, plug it directly into the PCI-e 16x slot, and leave all other cards unplugged. Does it fail to boot? Faulty card

Faulty USB risers are fairly common. They also seem to burn out sometimes if you have too many plugged into a single SATA or Molex cable.

Any suggestion on setting fixed dificulty for a 2.5m rig? What are the reasons to fix difficulty??
when fixed you see cgminer better perform. you can see which value works best. compare reject rate and other stats
try 64 128 and 256

Reject rates or hashrate won't change based on choice of fixed difficulty.  Only variance will. I would use either 256 or 512 on a 2.5MH/s rig.  Share variance is fairly irrelevent on wafflepool because it is a pplns system with a very high n value, so lower difficulty settings won't provide any benefit.

Fixed difficulty should mean you will get slightly lower rejects, because you can lose shares when vardiff changes and we switch coins in a short period. Furthermore, fixed difficulty gives you reliable utility stats.because you can perform calculations on Units Submitted and have it represent a specific number of shares (relevant when using monitoring programs like CGRemote).

Do you recommend to use  --no-submit-stale.
Do not use this on wafflepool unless you want to decrease your earnings... tbh, I don't know why anyone uses it - it doesn't take much bandwidth in either end to submit and reject stale shares.
1112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC on: February 12, 2014, 10:39:18 PM
Downclock mem from 1350 to 1250, you will see better performance. I have yet to see any R9 290 that hash scrypt well at anything other then 1250 or 1499/1500 mem clock, and I personally run 24 of these cards, and have tuned many more for others.

Basically, R9 290s either 'take the mem overclock' aka handle 1499 mem, or they don't. After you determine that, find your max stable engine by increasing to 1020, and then decreasing or increasing in increments of 10. Only decide an engine clock is stable after 24hr.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asrock H81 BTC Pro Board and Sapphire R9 290X Tri-X on: February 12, 2014, 10:36:39 PM
I am running 5 count R9 290 on a single board with 2G of ram, with no.problems.  You're setup is faulty if you cannot do the same.
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 12, 2014, 11:00:32 AM
Lots of leafcoin piled up. We having issues exchanging that still, poolwaffle?

Solid payout today indeed.
1115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Profit switching pool - wafflepool.com on: February 12, 2014, 02:45:28 AM
Looks like exchanging is working again. Cryptsy must have gotten it at least slightly together.

Liking the new miner's earning log. Nice work, poolwaffle.
1116  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: QT strange DOUBLE SPEND (malleable) on: February 12, 2014, 02:36:40 AM
This is why pro's use coin control variant clients like omg.

And yes, please... these are not double spends. Stop calling it that.
1117  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Who is mutating transactions? on: February 12, 2014, 01:58:46 AM
just look for all those people trying to exchange gox coins for btc,
they're just laundering their gox "i got coin out of thin air thank to gox faulty processes" for btc
the only way for them to sell btc at a discount is if they know for sure that btc has been stolen from gox.

and how can they know that?
 because they did.
That is retarded... people are selling BTC locked up at Gox at a discount as a hedge against MtGox being insolvent and running with their BTC. Gox BTC is obviously not as valuable as other BTC right now, because you can't do anything with BTC tied up at gox.
1118  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Who is mutating transactions? on: February 12, 2014, 01:56:06 AM
Exactly... anyone can run a well connected node... you also don't have to be first to publish mutated transactions and have sites like blockchain.info register them as double spends.  You have to beat the other broadcast to miners to get it included in a block, but this simple muation spam doesn't require that.
1119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Small time miners, why not mining some EBT's on: February 12, 2014, 01:52:02 AM
profitability at time = now.

remember last year when ltc was 1.5$ ? it wasn't very profitable to mine ^^
Uh... yes it was.

Besides, litecoin was novel, has a solid core dev team, and a strong history behind it now.  Why would a random alt like EBT gain value, exactly?
1120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is anyone still holding LITECOIN? (LTC) on: February 12, 2014, 12:08:19 AM
Not sure where you get those numbers lol, but the continuous doge hashrate is definitely not that high.  Doge has around 1/3 the network strength of LTC.

Where have you been? DOGE and LTC have had roughly the same hashrate for the past three weeks. See for yourself: http://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/hashrate-ltc-doge.html

The key was 'continuous' hashrate. A huge chunk of doge's hashrate comes from auto-switchers that are only mining on probably 30% of doge blocks.  This would be at least 30GH/s.  When the block reward halving comes soon, all that hashing power will stop targeting doge.  Compare that to LTC which goes thru much smaller variance and over much longer time periods. Doge is a joke, albeit a profitable one for the time being until interest dies off.

Doge halving comes in about 3k blocks... AKA 50hr from now.
