My belief is that the success of NEM lies in the main idea that NEM is a movement. If you're trying to find the way in economy and finance, then NEM isn't much more interesting than other new systems with features: Ethereum, NXT, NODE, Bitbay, Qora. But remember Doge, just another Bitcoin fork! It became popular because of fun, memo...
I think NEM should keen on something political, more ideology. Something about society, history, progress, freedom. Maybe get in touch with some pirate and internet parties, anarchy movements... Something like that.

Although i completely agree, you're really opening up a can of worms here - especially with any political affiliation. (Pretty sure this was already discussed back on the Nemforums)

With the controversy surrounding political ideals this is something that could end terribly. I think nem needs to distance itself from anything political and focus primarily on the "sound money" aspect.

With this in mind though, there are a few and far between politicians that understand the importance of sound, honest money and the ramifications should it not be so. Ron Paul is certainly the one i know comes to most peoples minds. Especially in the Crypto sphere.

Case in point:

Politic doesn't mean affiliating with a politician or a party.

Politic means fixing some principles and ideas that we share. I think we absolutely need a manifesto.

21 losses in a  row is  quite unusual: about 1 possibility out of 2000000. But if you make millions of rolls, it becomes likely.

Bots are best way to lose everything. The only winning strategy is: make few rolls and when you are winning just stop.

This reminded me that the issue related to completely trust-free harvesting is still there. By protecting every single participant you make the whole system more vulnerable. If automatic fee transfering was removed then small fish would start to care whom they give the power of delegated harvesting to. I haven't seen an explanation why it's not an issue yet.

Sorry, I don't see any problem here.

Delegated harvesting doesn't delegate to someone else. It delegates to another account that is is still your.

I have the software running smoothly since launch now, no crash and no errors Smiley

I tested it on another machine which had only 1 GB ram though and it did crash there because it couldn't allocate enough memory. If anyone is running NEM on a 1 gig ram machine, make sure to run it with the 768 mb setting Wink

Or add swap

I went to the Bitcoin conference in Seoul to represent NEM.  There were a lot of good people there that I was able to talk to.  Some are operating exchanges, some are organizing events, and some are developers.  It felt good to get out there and help spread the word of NEM.  I'll look forward to doing it again next time!

My personal highlight was sitting down at lunch with VItalik and talking to him.  He is very smart indeed.

I think the most important thing I did for NEM was help keep us on the radar and plant the seed to let people know we are coming.

After we launch, and we go to another conference we should get our own little booth and try to get up and the guest panels to speak.

Lets make this happen!

You, Jabo, are awesome!

I don't think today Satoshi is very happy about what bitcoin become.

Bitcoin is still essentially what it was from the beginning, with a few enhancements and bug fixes.

I mean: Satoshi would not like mining to be completely centralized in the hand of few pools.

Do you remember him expressing against GPU mining? Can'timagine what he thinks of ASICS...

Perhaps the son of Satoshi will came on the earth one day
