1  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [COLDKEY] Project status on the 25th Augu 2022 -- revving up after the crisis 🚀 on: December 22, 2022, 08:59:04 PM
Hello everyone,

During these wintery times, I have a very important update to share with you.

I have decided that as of block #768,000, I effectively step down as project leader regarding Coldkey.

Being good at some very specific things doesn't automatically makes you good at other less specific things.
I'm good at making great cold storage wallets, but I'm not so good at delivering them.

From now on, I'll keep it at just coding and making Coldkeys.

I am pleased to announce to you that cygan will be taking the lead of the project.
cygan brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, and I'm confident that he will lead our project to even greater success in the future.

I see it like satoris. There are pre-fork and post-fork satoris.
There are Coldkeys that have been made in some "early" period in the life of Coldkey, and there will be many more to come after these changes.

We are working together to bring everything back in order.
Everything that is still "pending" will be addressed and made good on in the best delays.

I am commited to make some of the best and meaningful physical crypto with a high level of quality.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in our project.

I look forward to working with you under the guidance of cygan.

Hello everybody Smiley

I got some exciting news to share with you today.
Coldkey has a new distributor !

I am honored to announce that cygan will be in charge of the Coldkey distribution.
Thank you very much cygan for joining Coldkey. Smiley

We believe this improvement is well needed and is a major step on the road to success.
Everything will be totally transparent, the process keeps being the same but improved.

I'll be posting more updates soon about the ongoing Raffle release. Smiley

Thank you for reading !

Aujourd'hui, justement Nasdaq -1,80%
BTC / USD : +5,49%

BTC est corrélé à l'or.

5  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN / WTS] ❄️🔑 Coldkey Raffle 🔮 — 1st Edition // 1st prize up to 0.192 BTC on: October 25, 2022, 11:23:28 AM
thanks for the further explanation. so this means, just by knowing the own ticket-ID and the blockchain-picked hex, one will still not know if s/he has won or not, but only by peeling the ticket, meaning every ticket-holder has to peel its coldkey - is my understanding correct?

Yes, that is correct. :-)
This was the desired outcome.

This also implies that if the big prize doesn't move from it's address, it means the winning ticket most likely hasn't been peeled yet.

What are your thoughts about it ?

Wow   Shocked
Already 36 tickets sold !

We now have 0.09BTC in the Prize Pool escrow address Cool

Lots of players means bigger prizes.
Come join the fun.  Cheesy
All that is required to win is to hold one ticket.
6  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN / WTS] ❄️🔑 Coldkey Raffle 🔮 — 1st Edition // 1st prize up to 0.192 BTC on: October 25, 2022, 07:41:27 AM
I keep track of which Ticket ID is assigned to which order.
That way and for transparency purposes only, I'm able to tell which customer got winning tickets.
I will not be releasing this information.

what I do not get yet (maybe I'm misunderstanding the rules): how is the respective hex assigned to each ticket-ID?

I understand and appreciate that you will not release the information; however, also for transparency purposes only ( Wink ): in the unlikely case that not all tickets are sold, will you disclose in advance which IDs are not taken and will not be assigned to a hex-spot?

Hey haloxon ! Smiley

Let me explain a bit more in depth.
There is no association between hex and ticket IDs.

A different hex will be assigned randomly to each public address.
Only I know which address is on which ticket ID.

I'll update the thread very soon with the list of 256 addresses, with hex and status ("In play" // "Inactive").
Hopefully this will make things more straightforward. Smiley

When a ticket is sold, I will update the list and change the address from "Inactive" to "In play".
Unsold tickets will remain "Inactive" and will be destroyed.
The status of the event will be updated regularly.

I absolutely understand your concern. Smiley
This is for this exact reason I chose to keep track of what ticket IDs are shipped in individual orders.

This looks fun, thanks for hosting, I'll order on the site asap

Wonderful Yogg. So glad to see new stuff. Can't wait to participate. Will order now!
Geo

Thank you very much Smiley
I wanted to try something different.
If I'm not mistaken, I think I remember some "Bitcoin Cereal box" that were funded with various amounts ?
Anyway I really like this idea. Thanks for participating !!

This is going to be a fun event !
I wish you the best of luck and hit one of those huge prizes Grin

We already have 0.0375BTC in the Prize Pool escrow address. Smiley

Coldkey Raffle — 1st Edition

We are proud to announce to you today the 1st Coldkey Raffle.
We wanted to make a fun Collectible with a quirk and this one comes with an event. Smiley

There is 256 Tickets, each one has a unique Private Key.

Sales will remain open until the 15th of December 2022
— OR —
Until the 256 tickets have been sold.

Each Ticket requires a 0.0025BTC funding.
100% of the funding goes to a Prize Pool.

When sales are over, we will organize a good old fashioned Bitcointalk raffle.
Usually tickets go from 0 to F (hex) which represents 16 different tickets,
we will go from 00 to FF and this represents the set of 256 physical tickets.

I will pick a block that will come up around 2 weeks after the sales ended.
This will let enough time for last shipments to arrive.

Random tickets will be picked using the last two digits of a Bitcoin block to be generated.
A list of all the addresses associated with 2 hex digits will soon be available.

100% of the Prize pool is redistributed.
It will be held at the following address : >> bc1qr88xt0jurmpvv93l66zquk5srkqntpva9ug5m4 <<

The Prize structure is as follows :

Winner Payout \\ Number of tickets playing0-4041-8081-120121-160161-256
1st50%40%40%33%30%
2nd25%25%23%21%18%
3rd12.5%13%13%12%11%
4th12.5%10%8%8%8%
5thX6%6%6%6%
6thX6%4%4.5%4.5%
7thXX3%3.5%3.5%
8thXX2%2.5%2.5%
9thXX1%2.5%2.5%
10thXXX2%2%
11th - 15thXXX1%1%
16th - 24thXXXX0.875%

A few precisions :

How does this release works :

Each Ticket has only an ID.
No serial number, and it doesn't display a public address.

We will hold a Raffle event and the ghost of Satoshi will pick the winning ticket.
The addresses will be funded accordingly.
You will need to peel the ticket and redeem it to check if it holds a prize.
Each ticket can win only once.

I keep track of which Ticket ID is assigned to which order.
That way and for transparency purposes only, I'm able to tell which customer got winning tickets.
I will not be releasing this information.

About the Physical Coldkey :

We are not fully satisfied by the quality of these Tickets.
Our laminate layer is too strong and doesn't allow to easily break the card into individual parts.

We have some loose ones, but unfortunately some of these might have some minor imperfections.
Like a rough edge, having a straight cut but at an angle, etc …
We will experiment with more physical cards and different laminate layers before releasing any more Coldkey that splits.

Orders for multiple tickets will contain uncut "tri-cards".
(If you get 8 tickets, you will get 2 full uncut cards and 2 loose tickets)

Price :
- 25 € per Coldkey Raffle Ticket.

Funding :
Each Ticket requires a 0.0025BTC funding to ship.

12  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN / WTS] Bas Coldkey -- Reeeee: Collectible Cards of Bitcointalk Users. on: October 24, 2022, 07:31:16 PM
Hello everyone Smiley

All regular Bas cards orders have been finalized and shipped.
On top of this, some people already got their order without receiving the email containing shipping details.
What was causing this issue has now been fixed, and emails containing shipping details have been re-triggered.

The production for every "custom requests / order" concerning Bas cards is now finished.
These orders will be finalized shortly.

While doing the custom requests, I have also produced two more sets that are available for purchase on our shop. Smiley

20 x 1 Random Single Bas Coldkeys : https://www.coldkey.eu/product/bas-coldkey-random-single/
1 x Full Set of 20 Bas Coldkeys : https://www.coldkey.eu/product/bas-coldkey-full-set-of-20/

They go fast and I don't produce them that quickly.
Grab them before it's too late !

There has been a few requests to make Bas Coldkeys with artworks that were not present in the primary release.
We are likely to extend the collection later on and we are aware how serials are important.
Full Sets buyers will have the possibility to further extend their Bas Coldkey collection with serials matching the initial set.

13  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [COLDKEY] Project status on the 25th Augu 2022 -- revving up after the crisis 🚀 on: October 19, 2022, 12:11:51 AM
Hello, it's long overdue for an update on the current status of Coldkey.

First, some of the Bas orders have been delayed.
They are in process and rest assured will be fulfilled soon.

On top of this, I just recently noticed shop emails aren't sent properly.
This implies that all emails with shipping details haven't been sent as well.

Most of the Bas Coldkeys have shipped as of last week, a few parcels remain to be shipped.
I'll be going through them all send manually the shipping details to every customer.

Due to the high interest in the latest sets, we've become backlogged on shipping a bit.
Some people also had some custom orders.

However I am only one person and cannot possibly fullfill all of them as timely as I would like.
The process is long and timely, and prone to unexpected happenings. Sad
This is a source of frustration and needs to be addressed.

We are releasing and listing Coldkeys carefully to temper the incoming orders.
That allows us to process it all before we are comfortable to move on further.
Sometimes it takes longer for various reasons, independently of our will.

That said, we have been working to get our new operation streamlined via a small move of operations.

We are still functioning on a "best effort" basis.
This is neither optimal or satisfactory but we're doing our best to keep Coldkey going.

TLDR : Please don't misunderstand the message.
It's just sometimes, it takes a few days to get some order going.
Sometimes, it takes a week or slightly longer.
We're carefully maneuvering to not let ourselves get too much behind

Also, I wanted to say something about communication.
The way it has been happening and kept going on also became a source of frustration.

I present my apologies to everyone who reached out in some way and didn't hear back from me.

Over time, I shifted from being a member of our community to a maker of physical Bitcoins.
This has been tough to deal with, and needs to be done differently.

Despite owlcatz's help with communication, some people reach out to me directly on IM apps.
I've been sharing my details quite openly before getting involved with Coldkey.
Today it's not helping as I can't be present on all fronts to reply to everyone.
This cannot keep going on. For the best, I will be disabling Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp.

Also, I will be disabling Bitcointalk PMs.
In my profile, I'll add email addresses :
One for Coldkey related purpose, and another for a more general Bitcoin and bitcointalk use.

I'll be reaching out to everyone that I've been in contact with, to explain this. (on all IM apps)

For you as for myself, this can't go on like it was / is still happening.

We do not remain idle behind the curtains. Smiley
Here is a sneak-peak of what we have in our pipes.

More info in an upcoming ANN thread. Smiley

~

Yes, you have raised some good points that I'm happy to clarify.

I totally agree with your point, and this has never been my intention.
There is already a handful of dozens of these Bas Coldkeys circulating from all the custom orders that happened in 2.5 years.
At these lengths (and also in a matter of prevention) it's better to acknowledge these and make them openly available.

By the way, does someone know rougly with how much bits did Basorexia run with ?
16  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [ANN / WTS] Bas Coldkey -- Reeeee: Collectible Cards of Bitcointalk Users. on: September 29, 2022, 04:18:15 PM
Questions:
1. Do people used on the cards get a percentage of the sales of cards with their names?

No.

2. I do not see the anonymousminer card - was it made originally by Basoriexia's or only by Coldkey?

Some anonymousminer Bas Coldkey exist.
Every Bas Coldkey bears a design that can be found in the following thread :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204109

3. Any issue with copying/using Basoriexia's original artwork?

No, for the following different reasons :

After the Bas fiasco, I have been approached by a few members with custom orders for Bas Coldkeys.
I've also gifted a few AP Bas Coldkeys (on Silver cards) to users represented in the artwork.
Most of the time, it was merely because I knew these users nicknames on the forum so I could make a relevant gift.

Over time as more people become aware that Bas Coldkey are a thing, I kept getting custom orders.
This went to the point where it makes sense to acknowledge these and turn them into a series.
I don't like the idea of running a "shadow series" because I'm fulfilling custom orders around the same theme.

Since this thread has been posted, a handful of bitcointalk users for whose Bas made a design approached me.
They would like to order some Bas Coldkeys representing "their" artworks.

Back then I've approached Basorexia to collaborate but they turned me down.
I'm more than happy to discuss with Basorexia about options, should they return.

Oh wow, just saw this, glad to see these designs back, shame the original artist disappeared with our btc.

Great job yogg!

Thank you very much LC ! Smiley
Glad you like them.

Busy right now.
Will have time to address this properly within an hour.

Regarding "plagiarism" :
the process or practice of using another person's ideas or work and pretending that it is your own.

I don't think this is what I did. I have never pretended to come up with these artworks being my own.

I'll explain the story behind this release shortly.
18  Economy / Collectibles / [ANN / WTS] Bas Coldkey -- Reeeee: Collectible Cards of Bitcointalk Users. on: September 28, 2022, 03:53:03 AM

Bas Coldkey

About 2.5 years ago, user Basorexia created artworks representing Bitcointalk members.
(Here is the link to the original thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5204109)

Towards the end, he offered physical versions of his work.
People sent him BTC to arrange an order, but he never shipped a single card and finally vanished after refunding a handful of users.

A physical version of these artworks have been highly hoped for, so I have been approached to produce a few custom orders.
Given how popular their might be, we have decided to produce them on a regular basis and offer them for sales.

Currently, Bas Coldkeys with 20 different artworks are available.
Here is the list of different cards that have been produced :

– Krogothmanhattan
– Minerjones
– Owlcatz
– Tweetious
– Bitcoin Penny
– Jcga
– Chronicsky
– Digicoinuser
– Fattcatt
– Teegumes
– Dobzombie
– Agrawas
– Hox
– Rxalts
– Lesbian cow
– Chibitcty
– Basorexia
– Mitchell
– Theymos
– Yogg

We might expand this list with new artworks that are available in the thread started originally by Basorexia.

These are denominated with 0.001 BTC (Buyer Funded).
Mintage : not finite.

Price :
- 40 € per Bas Coldkey. (You will get a random one)
- 640 € for a full set of 20 Bas Coldkeys.

No further funding is required.
New ones are continuously produced in batches having the same serial.
When a new batch is broken, we will distribute all the remaining Bas Coldkeys in this batch before breaking a new one.

Get yours by placing an order on our shop !
