1  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / HORRIBLE HD7970 Performance on: April 30, 2013, 11:57:10 PM
 Hello,
I got a Club3D royalQueen HD7970 and it is horrible performance-wise, or I'm doing something wrong:

I underclock the GPU to 900Mhz core clock and 750Mhz mem clock,
Set the Fans to 100%
Run cgminer with -I 7 (results in just 530MHash/s with those clocks) and the temps go up to 95°C and then the PC shuts down.
It runs at about 450Mhash/s if I don't use -I 7 which results in temps from 90-92°C...
I don't think this should be happening.. is anyone having the same problems or can help?

Do you still want to buy the BTC? I still have money on my MtGox account I can't withdraw
4  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mt.Gox: An Update on Euro Transfers - Unavailable Until Next Week on: August 07, 2011, 04:14:48 PM
There is now other way to withdraw € right now, am I right?
My money was stuck in limbo since July 14 and I got it back on my MtGox account by the end of July after I sent a ticket and now I'm waiting until SEPA transfers are available again, so basically almost a month now.

Not to be rude, or anything else like that, but I have several ~100$ withdraws totaling 415$ which are now stuck in some sort of limbo, and you just keep pushing back the date. I wouldn't have made additional withdraws had you noticed in advance that the payments will be processed on Aug 5th instead of 21st of July. The first withdraw that hasn't arrived is from 10th of July, which will be a month late if it's processed on Aug 8th.

In my opinion, it is really bad practice for a company whose main purpose is to be a currency exchange, i.e. deal with currency, to withhold its customer's money ad infinitum. The least you could do in a situation like this would be to calculate an interest for the money you have borrowed from your customers and pay that in addition to the sum you owe when you get your bank working. I do understand that if the French banking system fails, it's not your fault, however - your reputation is yours, and if you screw it up, it's your fault no matter who was the original party to blame. I've been very patient with MtGox, waited through the hacking disaster with my money stuck in limbo, but I'm not really happy that this is happening again.

Also this.

Ich warte jetzt 11 Tage und es ist nichts angekommen. Daher habe ich gerade mal ein support ticket geschrieben. Mal sehen was sich da tut.

7  Local / Suche / [Suche] 10€ PaySafeCard on: June 26, 2011, 12:56:59 PM

11  Economy / Economics / Re: Why? on: June 21, 2011, 04:36:33 PM
Tradehill doesn't support European transfer methods and basically pays people to spam about them. Either is enough that I won't use them.
I don't have a problem with the spam as long as you have lower fees. The European Transfer methods are the real problem. It's online for 2 weeks now and there is still nothing, so as long have half of the BTC community can't use Tradehill its no competition to MtGox

URGENT NOTICE

When I tried logging in this morning to btcguild.com, I realised I couldn't do it. I then tried logging in mtgox.com as well with no success. I then tried logging in my gmail account which is tied to both mtgox and btcguild, and realised the password has been changed. I recovered my gmail password, which then I reset my btcguild.com password. When I log in to btcguild, I found that my email address has been changed (my prior email address with a "1" appended at the end of it, eg originally xyz@gmail.com became xyz1@gmail.com), as well as my payout address has been changed. Luckily, I had payout lockout enabled so the hacker could not retrieve the funds yet. As of this moment, I'm still unable to recover my mtgox account password. I've sent in a help request through the support forum to freeze all my assets asap and I'm now waiting for their reply.

I urge everyone to change their mtgox and/or btcguild passwords asap, there may be some security vulnerabilities in either of these sites or my computer. I'm not sure whether I've been hacked or what, but everyone please becareful.

edit:

I still cannot change my email address back to my original gmail account, because I cannot change my email address within 24 hours, that means the hacker could still have access to my account via the new email address to change passwords. eleuthria if you are able to read this please check your pm. I have sent you my account name. Please disable all payouts until further notice.

edit2:

The username and email I use for btc / mtgox are the same, although the passwords are different. The email also happens to be the same as the one used in this forum. I realised that I got hacked after I made a few posts on the bitcoin forums, I don't know whether the two are related.

edit3:

eleuthria, do you keep logs of the wallet ids that were changed? During the panic, I changed the wallet ID back to my own wallet without first noting down the wallet of the hacker. It would be useful to know the hacker's wallet id at least, to see if anyone else has been similarly hacked and had their bitcoins sent to that address.
How can so many people get hacked? Do you use passwords like 123 or what? Damn.
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why don't pools pay out the full BTC amount? on: June 15, 2011, 07:12:09 AM
The only pool I've used that pays out the full amount of BTC is Swepool. Other pools like Deepbit will only pay out a portion.

For example, if you had 1.79658246 in your Slush balance, you would only receive 1.79 BTC. Only Swepool pays out the full amount so that your remaining balance is 0 BTC.

Because anyone using the default wallet will lose out on the change, as it doesn't take sub-cents.
Wrong. I have something with 6 or seven digits after the .
14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (1.5Thash/s) on: June 14, 2011, 12:01:55 AM
I see the IP list in my account option now but even with my IP in there, i still can't get my miners to connect to Slush.

did you use api.bitcoin.cz or mining2.bitcoin.cz?
slush posted a page back that we should point the miners there.

I used both api.bitcoin.nz and the other one but none worked. I'm not sure if i got my IP correct or not tho. I googled IP address and the website "whatismyIPaddress" showed me mine. Anyway not sure why i can't get my miners to connect to Slush still.
Some for me. I got a connection once for about 3 seconds and then got disconnected again.

When will we be able to register?
It says registration is closed until tomorrow, but thats what it said yesterday too. Seems like we're in an endless recursive loop.

I get a lot of idle messages, but my GPUs keep running at 99% and the Hashrate doesnt go down at all. Does it mean I can just ignore the warnings?

Can you see what your GPU temperature is doing?
Other than the potential loss of submitted shares [which is likely quite small for most people], the risk to your hardware is cycling temperature which will fatigue the parts and eventually cause premature failure [statistically].  It isn't so different from why "highway miles" are so much easier on your vehicle than "city miles".   It is a basic principal in materials science and fatigue applies to nearly every metallic substance and MANY other.
Yes. The largest gap was about 3 seconds and GPU load dropped to 0% while the temps were about 1°C lower. But most of the time I cant even see gaps in MSI Afterburner.
