I agree with some of the factors that made PSG fail in the Champions League this season, but when you talk about titles then I think it's a bit difficult to achieve even though you have a lot of experience.
True. In history, only Real Madrid were able to protect their trophy in Champions League. Others failed even they were still very strong in a season they had to protect their trophy. Barcelona, Bayern Munich and many other strong clubs failed. Barcelona in gold time with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta failed too and it is good evidence to support your opinion. Strong opponents, luck, team mentality, experience and strategy of the coach are some other reasons to judge a team's success in the Champions League. You might also be able to say why did Benfica qualify for the quarter-finals, why did Villareal qualify while Barcelona, Juventus, PSG, Inter, AC Milan and several other teams failed? You have to know what the reason is. There's a reason for everything, and I'm sure the few teams that made it to the quarter-finals now have the luck factor despite their best efforts.
In Champions League, you need both strength, good strategy and luck. Without luck support, it is impossible to win Champions Leauge. It is not like in national league that is long and lasts in many months. So if you make mistake, loss in a match or few ones, you can come back and even win trophy. In Champions League, you don't have such opportunities in quarter, semi final or final. One or two matches decide result. |

Premier league is voting on the '5 substitutes' rule again tomorrow. There were a few attempts during the last few years to make it happen, mostly by top clubs, but now it seems that there will be enough support for the rule to pass.
This change was done because of pandemic and quarantine policy last 2 years. Now the pandemic is coming to its ending so I believe in near future, perhaps in the next season, football and policy on substitution in each match will return to normal. Having 5 or more substitutions are only plus points for big clubs that have multiple quality substitutions on bench but it is a disadvantage for small clubs. Sometimes they don't have too many good substitutions on bench so this policy is not helpful for small clubs. Premier League is the only big European league that is still limiting the substitutions to 3 per match.
In my opinion, it does create yet another advantage for the bigger clubs - but overall it is a good change for players' health and the quality of football.
As said, it is too late for them to change their policy. First they don't hope the pandemic to last longer. Second as said, policies will be returned to normal, to what it was before the pandemic. |

it is now official that the two biggest german clubs can play their next home games in front of a full stadium. borussia dortmund can look forward to 81365 fans this weekend at home vs. leipzig and bayern munich can also look forward to 75000 fans at their next home game against fc augsburg.
for both clubs, i think this is a very big advantage when it comes to the final phase of the championship.
It's a very exciting for fans because after 2 years of pandemic, now they can enjoy a really full atmosphere at their home stadiums, for very first time. I will give players more motivation to play better than they could. Support from fans at home stadium are hidden power in any match and personally football is not really football if it does not have fans. Dortmund will highly to play the next match in Bundesliga without Haaland because of his injury with Norway national team. It will be negatively factor for Dortmund in this phase. It also reduce chances for Haaland to sign good contract with a new club that he wants to move to. He has become more vulnerable to injury and it is not what big club that are readily to spend huge fund for transfer and salary for Haaland. The biggest problem for the Dortmund side currently is their defense as it can be seen easily by some of their matches. They make really big mistakes and these ones cause them big difficulties against their competitors as a result. Dortmund lost so many points just because they couldn't defend their competitors well. This might be the main reason why they can't catch up with Bayern Munich still. And they should tend to their problem to solve it this summer and come back much better for next season.
Their problem will become bigger after the injury of Haaland from his international duty with Norway. It looks not a simply injury because Haaland looks to be very hurtful after that tackle. Despite of his less contribution, less matches and less goals for Dortmund in this season, he is still their best striker and if he is healthy, Dortmund rely on him a lot for goals. Now, it looks like they will miss him a few more matches and it is bad because the season is in final phase already. That is not that interesting when you are forced to discuss about the 4th place and you know that the first place will always be either Bayern Munchen or Borussia Dortmund,that makes the Bundesliga a not so interesting league.
Bundesliga is usually like this. Bayern always are in trophy competitor list and Dortmund usually are the most competitive opponent for Bayern. In some seasons, some few other clubs can join this competition such as Stuggart, Wolfburg, Bayer Leverkusen, Leipzig but most of seasons, tittle belongs to Bayern. |

Of course it's true, their next match is an easy one and they will be the favorites to win it. I don't think AC Milan will drop points in the next match because this is the best opportunity to collect more points when their rivals have stronger opponents. The win would see AC Milan continue to lead the table with a points advantage over city rivals Inter, Napoli and Juventus, so AC Milan really had to do it perfectly.
AC Milan looks to have an easy match and if they play normally, not worse than what they usually do, they will win that match. It will help them to maintain the first position and move towards Scudetto. In final phase of season, any round will be a final round. Inter, Napoli, Juventus and Atalanta will have to fight for maximum points if they are to continue to compete with AC Milan in the title race. Inter may find it difficult to win against Juventus, as well as Napoli vs Atalanta. Those are two interesting matches to look forward to in Serie A in early April.
First three clubs need to win to keep racing with AC Milan. Atalanta will have to win to race with AS Roma and they have yet given up top 4 target. It is not easy but they still have some kind of hope. They must keep fighting and hope that Juventus will drop more points enough for them to cover the current difference which is big. |

Leicester will not qualify for the Europa League next season, at least that's my prediction for them after seeing their very poor form this season. So far they have had some posponed match that would allow them to get some extra points if they win, but I doubt they can maximize it for points.
It seems Leicester City have been in a decreasing period because I see many key players in Leicester are playing with worse performance by ageing. Vardy has been their main striker in many seasons and now they can not rely on him. It's bad because they have still yet found a good replacement for Vardy. Leicester have lost 11 and drawn 6 and won 10 in 27 match so far. Having the same points as Aston Villa would give them a slight advantage if they managed to win some of those postponed match, but yes I would probably doubt them.
Their performance in this season is much worse than in the last one in which they only lost a position to participate in Champions League in final day of the past season. If their squad is young, I can consider this season is just a temporary down in their performance. However because of ageing on their key players, I consider it is a really big issue for Leicester City which is difficult to fix. |

Making Madrid's 0-4 defeat of Barca can not be a benchmark. This is because the title of champion is not determined by that one match. This is because they still have matches remaining. For that, expecting Madrid to always lose seems impossible. While expecting barcelona to always win is also difficult, I think the closest chance is in Sevilla they have less points difference than Barcelona. So i agree with you.
This win brings more confidence to Barcelona. I agree with you. Dortmund will not be able to outrun Bayern Munich despite the opportunity. Dortmund have already had plenty of opportunities, they could have been at the top of the table if they had performed somewhat consistently. But they missed every opportunity.
Dortmund were given a few opportunities but they did not take it. Seriously, when we see Dortmund looks closely to achieve something big and better. Later, results are terrible and they let Bayern move ahead significantly. Now, if Bayern Munich loses points in a few matches and I still don't see the possibility of Dortmund winning the title.
Bayern will come back stronger. They have support from limited rest time of this season and support. Time is almost over and Dortmund should not expect Bayern to have a mini crisis and lose many points. It is an unrealistic hope. |

The decline in performance towards the end of this season makes them quite difficult now.
They are still inconsistent, currently 2 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw still cannot be said to be good enough for those who are still getting the title of dark horse until now.
They actually have bad form recent weeks that damage their chance to finish in top 4. This season can be a first failed season for Atalanta but even so they have already managed to keep it lasting longer than expected. Three seasons ago, people thought Atalanta just had a sudden successful season and they will return to where they are. In fact they have maintained it and more impressively they did it even losing Papu Gomez. They have to improve their performance if they really want to make the competition for the UCL even more exciting because Inter and Juventus are already quite hot right now

It could be and also, next Dortmund will play at home against Leipzig. Even though it was a home match for Dortmund, I think it was not an easy match for Dortmund. Although the head to head was very clear where Dortmund dominated the victory but Leipzig was not a weak team and in fact, in the first match of the season Leipzig were able to win even though it was only by one goal difference. Price of Ethereum might fall 90% from its all time high in a bull market. It is probabaly where price will bottom out from all time high. Question is where is the all time high for Ethereum in this bull run? If people think the orice above 4k is all time high for this bull run, they can wait for 80% or 90% discount and enter for a next long term investment. If they don't believe it, why do they not enter now? Honestly, Ethereum is a few cryptoccurrencies that I don't believe long term investment with them will cause loses. Newer, younger altcoins will need 4 to 8 years to have a solid position in crypto market. BNB has gone through the first toughest testing period, others should finish it too. Let's see what Arsenal do in the rest of the season. They are still doing a great job in the fight for the fourth place. And we will see how long they will stay in this. I think that they are going to maintain their fight until the end. And they are one of the very close teams to ending the season at that place. But it is not going to be an easy job for them to maintain the place all the time. Tottenham and Manchester United would do their best to capture it. And maybe even West Ham too but I see them as the least likely.

One thing seems to be certain that Milan are going to be the most comfortable team next week. They won't have a difficult game while their closest opponents are having such games. Maybe Milan would come out as very profitable after the week ends.

Yes, I checked a few words "Barça", "Real" etc., but "Barcelona" is clearly in first place by a wide margin.
As for voting, in my opinion you have no chance. Bookmakers estimate the chances of Barcelona as 1 to 12 and in my opinion even these odds are too optimistic. It all depends on Real Madrid, I don't see any reason for them to deliberately lose the already won championship.
Barcelona should feel happy with what they and Xavi have done so far. It is better than expected and the high hope on the return of Barcelona to fight for trophy is from over optimistic fans. I don't see how it can be called as a realistic hope for them. So little matches left and the difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid is big enough. It's safe enough for Real Madrid to maintain it until the end of this season. If Real Madrid won't suicide by suddenly lose more than 3 matches in rest of season, no chance for Barcelona. Even if Real Madrid have such bad performance in future, will Barcelona manage to win all of their rest matches? I guess the answer is no. Even though Barcelona won all 10 of their remaining La Liga matches, it's impossible to become champions if Real Madrid don't lose at least 4 games.
Because now the difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid is 12 points, that's a very big difference. So it's almost impossible for Barcelona to
catch up with Real Madrid's points.
Time does not stand on side of Barcelona. They returned too late in this season but even so they have already improved impressively enough with Xavi. Let's wait for their fighting with Real Madrid next season for La Liga trophy. I am waiting to see the return of Messi in Barcelona. He is not happy in PSG and Paris while Barcelona and Xavi are always welcome him home. Moreover Real Madrid only need to play 9 more games in La Liga to finish the season. And I'm sure Real Madrid won't drop a lot of points in the remaining 9 games, so Real Madrid 99% will win the La Liga trophy this season.
With players who have lot of experience in Madrid and with experience from Carlo Ancelotti, I think they will manage to control the competition because they have good difference and time stands on their side too. |
