" On Monday, August 11, WHO is convening a panel discussion of medical ethicists, scientific experts and lay people from affected countries to assess the role of experimental therapies in the Ebola outbreak response.
Issues to be considered include:

• Whether it is ethical to use unregistered interventions with unknown adverse effects for possible treatment or prophylaxis. If it is, what criteria and conditions need to be satisfied before they can be used?

• If it is ethical to use these unregistered interventions in the circumstances mentioned above, then what criteria should guide the choice of the intervention and who should receive priority for treatment or prevention?"

Hi BTCRockk,

Is there a way i can find out my luckycheckin ID? I cannot, for the life of me, find it anywhere on the website! Sad
Its very easy you can do this by your bitcoin address is this not working for you ?

Hey MoneyGod,

Thanks for your response. I was actually looking for my user ID on luckycheckin. Looks something like this: 3f58baaafc

you can see this ID under the referral statistics for all the users who register using your ref link. Unfortunately, i cannot find my own user ID!

You can find your ID at end of your reflink, for example if your link is http://luckycheckin.com/?r=f66c3208dc then your ID is f66c3208dc

By saying it is to costly they can basically put a price on human lives in my opinion.  The prescription drug companies basically feel they can play god if it is fiscally good for their bottom line, it sickening.

In this case costly means difficult. Zmapp isn't a vaccine (with live or dead viruses) what will/should prevent ebola but a mix of antibodies to reinforce the immune system during an ongoing infection. Breeding viruses is easy. Making antibodies is much more difficult and time consuming, especially in the case of an experimental stuff without an established manufacturing process. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZMapp

"ZMapp instead consists of antibodies that are made by exposing mice to a key Ebola protein and harvesting their antibodies. Those antibodies are then genetically modified to make them more like human antibodies and therefore less likely to provoke an immune reaction if injected into people."

HD is pretty new but the hint to more RAM could be it...i only have 2GB RAM and i cant upgrade because my Mainboard only allows up to 2GB  Sad

Maybe you still should check your hard disk for fragmentation: All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Disk Defragmenter -> Analyze Disk. If you need to defragment the disk you need to have at least 15 % free space left.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 Start up Issue on: August 07, 2014, 12:04:08 PM
It your hard disk is badly fragmented it can cause the slownes. Increasing memory to pc could also help.

Another experimental drug has been tested successfully. Seems to be effective but it's too costly for mass production.

It is same ZMapp which has now been tested with two humans and three monkeys. So still some work to do before starting mass production...
149  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anyone following the ebola outbreak? on: August 05, 2014, 05:04:45 PM
Fever can kill? Learn something new everyday.

It is a nasty virus with no cure. It causes vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, bleeding and kills most of the patients.
There is no licensed cure. However, some experimental developments exist and proven to be effective.

Quote
In 2009, Drs. Feldmann and Geisbert were part of an international group of experts that recommended using the same post-exposure treatment strategy for the first time in a human. A researcher who accidentally was stuck with an Ebola-contaminated needle voluntarily received the experimental VSV Ebola vaccine 40 hours after the exposure. The researcher, who never showed signs of infection, survived. The scientists have not yet found a way to determine whether an Ebola infection occurred in this case, however, and whether the vaccine played a role in the outcome.

Experimental treatments has been tested only with very small number of patients so nothing is proven yet. For example ZMapp: "The compound used to treat Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol was only formulated in January, according to Larry Zeitlin, PhD, president of Mapp Biopharmaceuticals, the California company that co-developed the drug.

It has been tested in monkeys, but had never before been given to human patients before it was rushed to Brantly and Writebol."

An experimental monoclonal antibody ZMapp was used to treat US patients:
http://edition.cnn.com/2014/08/04/health/experimental-ebola-serum/index.html?hpt=hp_t2
IMO a combination of Favipiravir and clomiphene would have worked as well, and it would be
much easier to deploy on a larger scale, once it would be confirmed to work as expected.

"An American doctor flown to the U.S. after being infected with Ebola in Liberia "seems to be improving" after receiving an experimental antibody serum"

There is already http://hiddenfromgoogle.com/ which archives links censored by Google.

"The purpose of this site is to list all links which are being censored by search engines due to the recent ruling of 'Right to be forgotten' in the EU".
153  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NIGERIA, LIBERIA TO SHUT DOWN EBOLA HOSPITALS on: August 03, 2014, 12:49:14 PM
The most effective drug against Ebola appears to be Favipiravir, an experimental anti-viral drug with
a broad spectrum, that is currently undergoing phase 3 clinical trials for influenza.
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354214000576

There are also some experiments treating Ebola with blood transfusions. For example this: http://jid.oxfordjournals.org/content/179/Supplement_1/S18.short

I almost never check this thread. But luckily another member tipped me off for the sig change, otherwise it probably would have been a few weeks before I notice the update.

By being in this sig campaign, I guess there is an implied responsibility to constantly skim the thread  Undecided

155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The dangers of USB pendisks. An alert to all bitcoiners and geeks on: August 02, 2014, 06:41:30 AM
One possible way to minimize the danger is to connect the pendisk to external USB NAS adapter and then access it via network interface.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Where is the address book tab on bitcoin-qt? on: August 02, 2014, 05:00:50 AM
Address list functionality was moved to File menu in version 0.9.0, so it exists in 0.8.6.

If you are going to downgrade please note that the ‘chainstate’ for version 0.9 is not always compatible with previous releases, so if you decide to switch back to a 0.8.x release you might get a blockchain validation error when starting the old release.
You can fix the problem by running the old release with the -reindex option.

isnt that part of social engineering toolkit? i think that is one of the wonder of infectious media generator in SET that you can create
The Infectious USB/CD/DVD module will create an autorun.inf file and a
Metasploit payload. When the DVD/USB/CD is inserted, it will automatically
 run if autorun is enabled

No, much worse than that. They are modifying USB stick's firmware which makes malware impossibile to detect by any antivirus software.
