I don't see the address book tab anywhere on the bitcoin-qt.
Can anyone tell me what happened to it? It sucks not being able to see my addresses.
You can see you addresses if you open "Receive" tab and then select "Reuse an existing address (not recommended)" and click "Request payment".

Poloniex closed? Is this the end?
From Twitter: "Domain name transfer is taking longer than expected. The site could be unreachable for another 30 minutes"

Of course you still need Tor and a bunch of other anti-tracking solutions where possible.
Good firewall, MAC spoofing and computer name randomization do not harm either.

According WHO there are 786 confirmed cases (as of 20 July 2014) which is not so much. But 442 of them have already died which is quite scary. And in addition there are 201 probable cases with even higher death rate, 174 deaths.
WHO just published new numbers (as of 23 July 2014): 814 confirmed (456 deaths), 239 probable (182 deaths). So it is still spreading, mostly in Sierra Leone.

It looks like that your antivirus software detects a false positive in blockchain datafile. At least Avira and Microsoft Security Essentials have done so ealier.
Can you configure your AV so that it checks only executables but not datafiles?

Fever can kill? Learn something new everyday.
It is a nasty virus with no cure. It causes vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, bleeding and kills most of the patients.

A lot of them do pay out, but when they do it's peanut dust and very rarely worth your time.
Exactly...takes a considerably long time to collect anything of considerable worth. Say you earn 2500 stats per day (that's on a good day) for a whole year 365 x 2500. = 912500 satoshis (0.0091250BTC) just shy of around $5/$6 Faucets don't exist to provide you with a viable income. Use them if you want to, if not - don't. They exist to give you extra coin, but what's the point when you earn $5 a year? Many of those faucets have a referral system, so you can earn much more if you manage get a lot referrals. Also in poor countries there are people who earn less than $1 per day. To them $5 can be a week's salary.

Luckychekin is a faucet that gives free bitcoin, I've been registered since june 2014 and been paid twice. It's completely free, we receive bitcoins corresponding to matched parts of check in time
The referral system is also quite generous, you'll get 50% of earnings of your referrals. I can also confirm this month's payout.

If you actually read the paper it covers 'Tor', 'PHPProxy', 'Glype', etc. Not VPNs. Patterns/triggers won't detect VPNs. You need an up to date, curated list for them. I think IPHub.info has such a list but unfortunately I have no idea how accurate it is.
