121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto stuck in sports betting site, now they want KYC on: February 20, 2022, 10:08:11 PM
I'm from the states and have been using a betting website to do some light sports betting. They do not allow US citizens and so I used a VPN to gain access. They only require an email address to create an account, and no KYC unless you want to buy crypto directly from them. I will not name the site for various reasons.

Anyways, sometimes I try to login to the site before setting my VPN and it simply tells me I'm in a restricted area. Never had any issues though, I just flip on the VPN and all good. I've been using this site for about 2 months now. Today I logged in and and it was requesting I input my phone number to proceed. It said I can withdraw funds but services were restricted until I enter my phone number. So I created a fake number from Hong Kong, and entered it in. It sent me a code and I entered it. Little did I know Hong Kong  is also banned from this site (I know I know, I was just in a hurry to place a bet). Now my account is locked and they will not allow me access to even withdraw until I go through full KYC.

I have about $1,200 of BTC in there, nothing crazy. If I KYC myself they will simply say I broke their TOS and lock me out forever (I did the research on this already). KYC consists of ID, recent bills, and photo of yourself holding ID. The only piece of information this site has on me is an email address.

I have friends who have friends in other countries. Some of those friends of friends live in impoverished countries. What's stopping me from using them to KYC my account and then giving them a piece of the stuck funds? I would only need to gain access to retrieve the funds and would not continue to use the account or website.

Is this a good idea and do you think it will work? Worth the $1,200? My only hesitation at this point is asking the friend and they go through the hassle but then it goes sideways and still do not gain access to my account.

That really, really sucks.

I think that your best shot is to honestly own up to your mistake and see if they will budge. Usually, with such a small amount of funds, I don't think that there will be an issue with you getting your funds out.

Just remember for next time though that you want to play on sites that have clear no KYC policies. KYC is a double edged sword - it can very easily be abused.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I can't access a casino while my country isn't got blacklisted? on: February 20, 2022, 09:53:44 PM
Hi fellow gamblers,

I live in a country where gambling is actually legal, but due to some religions that consider gambling is illegal... gambling is pretty strict in my country but it's still allowed if you play on licensed casino, that's just my story.

Well, I've seen so many online casino in this forum and it's really attract me to play. But I don't know why I can't access the casino, while I can access the other casinos. My internet connection is good and my country doesn't got blacklisted by the casino, what's the problem then? Does this because my internet service provider, what should I do to solve this?

I wouldn't play with VPN since it's breaking their rules, I'm really looking to solve this. It's really sad when you want to play on specific casino but there's a barrier obstructing your desire. I know there's an alternative casinos, but I have some personal reason to play in specific casino...

Well, casinos can make their own decisions when it comes to who they want to offer their services to.

If they deem a particular jurisdiction risky for business then they may not serve you even though it is legal to do so.

Plus, there are a ton of unregulated crypto casinos out there that wouldn't be classified as "licensed" by any stretch of the imagination, so that could be a potential reason why as well.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 20, 2022, 09:43:05 PM
I think that they should honestly come up with some better formats than the dunk contest.

For starters, have a 1-1 contest. This should get people fired up. And don't just get random people, actually get stars to compete for a prize.

Even the 3-point contest needs to be scrapped in my opinion. Given how much people shoot 3-pointers these days, these things are like layups, and the scores are simply going to go higher and higher.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 16, 2022, 09:05:51 PM
All teams have those kind of games. It is not really that shocking for Sixers to lose like this just once, they are 5th in the east right now and they are doing fine, and that was without Harden (and without Simmons too) so it is clear to me that they are only going to get better from this point out. Do not imagine that Sixers lost this game this badly so they will stay this bad for a long time, they are going to be doing just fine in the future for sure, they are not going to end up losing to all teams like this.

It is just one game and it happens even to the best teams and there is nothing to worry about. Celtics could be hopeful thanks to this, but east looks too complicated to say any one team is better than the other.

Are you sure though?

Personally I never thought that Doc Rivers was a good fit for the 76ers and I think that he is a tremendouly overrated coach. He was never able to win a championship outside of Boston, where he had a huge Big 3.

There is way too much drama going on in the Sixers office for this to work out long term in my opinion.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CrazyTime and Monopoly, should we trust? on: February 16, 2022, 08:56:45 PM
I personally don't think so.

You could make the argument that they are regulated, sure, but in reality a lot of casinos which are regulated end up being rogue.

I don't trust anything that is not 100% provably fair. So even if that means a bit less entertainment, I'm willing to cop that.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think that 2022 will look like? on: February 12, 2022, 07:09:11 AM
2022 for me is already looking like we gonna have a lot of dips, i honestly feel that bitcoin and the market in general is being manipulated by some whales, if not, how do we explain the sudden dips each time bitcoin tries to make a move upwards?

Like I said earlier, market is already looking like we gonna have a lot of dips, but am still very hopeful that bitcoin is still going to record a new all time high this year, my fingers are crossed on this one.

I don't think that this is a sign of whale manipulation per se.

In fact, I think that it is quite futile to call everything whale manipulation when in reality it's just normal short term fluctuation in the markets. This dip isn't even a significant one after a huge run up in 2021.

Personally, I think that prices will hold relatively steady instead of moving drastically up or down. 2022 is a period of consolidation if anything.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why people keep "investing" money in shit/memecoins? Genuine question. on: February 12, 2022, 06:55:03 AM
It is something that bugs me till today. Are they mostly newbies trying to find a path to enter cryptouniverse or experienced people who are just gambling to score a moonshot on luck?

This is the "meme" rank on coinmarketcap, there's millions on deflationary tokens with no effort from the "devs" at all. Just copy/paste a code, copy/paste a whitepaper, eventually pay few bucks for a domain and that's it.
Why people fall for that, yet?

Realistically, it's a bit of both.

Seasoned veterans in the crypto wild west capitalize on the ignorance and naivety of those who are less experienced. Memecoins don't have much of a future, but these people know how to play the psychological game and hype things up in the short term to look like the best investment you'll ever make in your life.

Newcomers believe these people because they have wide social reaches. This is actually a huge problem that runs deep - this almost gambling-like craze that goes on peoples' minds when they first enter crypto.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance, led by Changpeng Zhao, is taking a $200 million stake in Forbes on: February 12, 2022, 06:43:50 AM
It is interesting the direction that Binance is taking right now.

CZ is a master strategist, and with the Forbes stake Binance will certainly gain footing in traditional media which is something that pretty much no crypto firm has ever accomplished before.

BNB is one of the overlooked coins. Even though its tech isn't the most mature, it is reliable and runs a extremely good ecosystem.
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you know when to sell? on: February 12, 2022, 06:29:50 AM
Do you have any pattern that you see or watch in the market to determine time to sell your hodlings and take your profit ?

Do you regret not selling your coins at any point because you didn't know it will drop ?

Can you share your opinion

Have price targets that are backed up by research.

And the key thing is that you should definitely set your exit prices before you get into the investment, and constantly re-evaluate based on the fundamentals of how the chain is doing.

Don't be easily swayed by public opinion in terms of sell targets. A lot of the times, the worst time to sell is when everyone is telling you that the market is going to tank.

You should also potentially adopt a "reverse-DCA" strategy where you drawdown on your position over time with regular sells. That makes sure that you don't sell at the bottom.
130  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it just me or people are out of liquidity ( money ) ? on: February 12, 2022, 06:18:58 AM
Quite the opposite from what I'm seeing?

Most people currently, at least the ones who have any sort of professional, corporate job have a ton of cash to play with.

This is why the stock market are so inflated right now. People simply don't know what is a good place to park their funds with good returns - and they are chasing after risky assets as a result.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Profit From MASSIVE Inflation on: February 12, 2022, 06:09:48 AM
Those who own inflation hedges will significantly outperform those who don't.

And conventionally, this would entail stuff like precious metals, real estate and stocks. Stocks, however, are already in a tremendous bubble so I would not necessarily be comfortable with owning that asset class.

Crypto seems like the sensible choice given the low correlation with traditional assets and high outperformance potential.
132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin the best investment at the moment? on: February 12, 2022, 06:00:10 AM
There is a huge difference between what you're doing, which is essentially gambling with options, and what long term bitcoin investments actually look like.

If you are looking to purchase BTC for the long run, I think that right now is an excellent price to get in at.

But if you want to trade options - whether long or short, I don't think that it's a great idea. Trading will inevitably lead to market timing, which has been disproven in terms of profitability plenty of times.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: That is why play to earn concept is a massive failure on: February 12, 2022, 05:51:56 AM
I completely agree with this.

P2E is another buzzword that is used by marketers to push their own agendas. In reality, there is very little utility for the games that they launch, and the fact that they are so hierarchically skewed towards capital holders and early adopters.

Pyramid scheme would do the P2E genre justice. The people who come late get pennies.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Altcoin experience and Lessons on: February 12, 2022, 05:01:26 AM
You still did extremely well.

It's always a matter of conviction. Are you actually comfortable holding the coin for the long term?

Even if a coin goes ballistic - if it doesn't have good fundamentals in terms of long term potential then I wouldn't ever consider buying and holding it. This would simply lead to subpar decision making and eventually you will be hit sooner or later with a big loss.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 12, 2022, 12:59:50 AM
Most people thinks the Nets won the trade, well I guess I don't have any justifications for that yet but same as you I don't think the Nets won it.
If James Harden will become a good fit in the Sixers system, that would be the pain in the a** not only for Durant and the Nets team but also for the laughing Giannis as you said lol.
Not to mention how well Embiid is playing at a high level this year, I'm not sure but I think the Sixer could form a big 3 for Embiid, Harden, and Harris.

Both teams won the trade. First, Simmons wants to get out badly on his former team, therefore any form of trades involving him will be an advantage for the Philadelphia 76ers as no reason to keep this player on the lineup. The Nets also won the trade as Simmons is surely fired up to play again. Simmons is also not a selfish type of player and he will be fit for whatever Steve Nash assigns him to do.

Let's see how these teams will now performed with their new trade deal.

Philly lost the trade on this one.  Seth spread the floor for embid to do his business now who is anyone fearing on the outside?  Harden does his work driving they are going to jam the paint.  And then 2 future picks while it seems they would be late picks.  They honestly have no draft capital for future trades.  They need to win this year or next or this is disastrous.

Yeah exactly, and they've got an extremely overrated coach in Doc Rivers.

It's unclear to me what exactly they've got going for them if they don't win the championship this year - sure they have Embiid playing at an MVP level, but that alone is nowhere near enough to get them to the promised land.

They now have no draft picks in the first round for ages and no assets to trade other than Embiid.

I really felt bad about what had happened to lightlords businesses here in crypto , i have been employed for more than 3 years (of 777coin) i did everything to help promotion and supports the site the way i can.
Playing and visiting the site from time to time , but nowadays ? i find the site losing their popularity , without updates and new events coming?
I'm afraid also that if lightlord did not manage to make a great return ? then he will lose everything that he keep managing for almost 9 years of existence .

It's really self-inflicted, though.

He could be making much more just by running the business with one eye open - but unfortunately it doesn't seem like he is interested in keeping the sites open anymore.

Don't be too harsh on the criticism though. I would definitely not play at the site, but it shouldn't be a personal attack - lightlord may well have his personal reasons as to why he isn't active on these sites anymore.
137  Economy / Gambling / Re: SandboxCasino.io サンドボックス It's Simple: Fun and Fair. on: February 12, 2022, 12:36:11 AM
Hi guys! Thank you all for the understanding of the fact that we are new and are always working on improving our website. It's a never ending battle for all casinos not just new ones =)

To address the 400% Match bonus, it is automatically funded once a deposit has been received, if something doesn't work out simply ask support for help and they'll be more than happy to help you out.

The terms are: Wagering requirements are set at 35xBonus amount. The bonus amount is up to $1000. The bonus can be forfeited if you choose to play you main funds first and test your luck and cash out. However if the bonus is played first it will be affecting your withdrawal ability.

As it goes for the free codes, we did indeed encounter some issues but rest assured we weren't asking for any KYC in regards to that matter. This is crypto after all and we are in favour of it.

The VPN usage is also tolerated for the use of bonuses, as we know some providers do choose to block certain countries but we do not want this affecting the overall experiences of our customers. If we do suspect bonus abuse then that would be dealt individually, we are all for the "fair play, fair pay" motto.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can help by answering.

Thanks for all the support!

PS: Like mentioned earlier in the thread Japanese lettering means "Sandbox". It is done for marketing and brand recognition alongside a small homage to origins of Satoshi Nakamoto, if any of it is true =)

I love your bonuses - they are laid out clearly and you are in constant communication.

This should be a case study on how to launch a casino successfully from zero to one. Certainly something that most businesses fail to realize as they beat around the bush and don't answer questions. The complete opposite is happening here.

Also appreciate you guys upholding the no-KYC policy!
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Join the Lottery Draw: Win ETH, BNB, AVAX on: February 12, 2022, 12:02:23 AM
The project is new, actually, I'm thinking of doing a daily live broadcast. to be more reliable.

You shouldn't launch this project before you figure out a provably fair system.

Even though live streams are relatively better than just leaving people in the dark about the results and how the outcome is generated, it is still not the ideal way to prove that you are legitimate if you are serious about expanding.

Invest in infrastructure first, before you market your product.
139  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetGalaxy 2.0 Whitepaper Released - LAUNCH IN JANUARY 2022! on: February 11, 2022, 10:06:32 AM
I think that the dividend system etc. are all great.

However, I just think that your attention should not be solely focused on raising capital right now through your token sale.

That is honestly not the best policy and makes it seem like you're just trying to dig funds out of investors. Work on the site, right now it looks like it's been created straight out of a template.

From what I understand there is no token sale. You are able to mine the token by playing. I agree, supporting token raises is hard. Admin needs to buy bronze and show pictures here

Ah right, hopefully they stay that way for the future.

If it's just a simple token mine I can get behind that - return some value to the players for once instead of trying to extract pennies out of each individual.

I like the system that they are applying, it seems to me very similar to the one that they use in betfury from the beginning, this speaks very well of the site, also that they give returns in all the available currencies is something that at least attracts me a lot, I have seen Some platforms apply this same strategy, I have also seen that they reach a large number of clients in a short time, have you thought of also having a signature campaign in the forum in conjunction with a social media campaign? This always gives them a big jump to the platform.

Thanks for the input!

Yes, we are working on doing a signature campaign here on BTCTalk Smiley

Currently our main focus is to fine tune and clean up any lagging items/issues we had received during launch, and then a bigger marketing push will begin Smiley

Great idea and that shows the right attitude.

No point marketing/seeking investments or doing anything fancy until your main product is actually functional. Good call from the team.

What its better stacking or change to USD?
I know you say its very volatile but maybe if you do a lot of cycles and be persistent if the price dont fall can be a good profit, any of here are staking for 3 or 6 months?. How much you can earn if the price its stable for that period of time?
One thing for improve i thing its the interface of the sports betting.

If the price its stable i will with no doubt to stacks
Both about risk, which risks you think you can afford in the event of losing value in dollars because you choose to keep it and the price drops or lose the opportunity to get more profit because it has sold at the cheap price, but if you believe on owl token development, why not hold and sell them in part.

I saw there was an airdrop on this casino, did anyone already follow it? If there is, maybe the information will be very useful.

I think that there is a signature campaign that is airdropping OWL.

I'm not sure of any other means of getting free OWL - perhaps the OP could clarify their stance on this if they get the chance.

Suggestion: Please decrease the deposit fee for the mining pool of Owl tokens. The 2% is very huge especially for mid tier investors like me because the APY is just around 60% which will took 20 days for my investment to get bck the 2% I loss for the deposit fee and another 20 days just to have a 2% gain while the value of the $OWL tokens is very volatile. Just implement a fixed lock in period so that you can assure that holders will gonna hold the tokens staked in the pool.

Agree with this - doesn't seem to make much sense when you're trying to encourage staking/liquidity provision on your site.
