1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asus B250 mining expert - amd driver compatibility for 8+ GPUs? on: January 19, 2018, 12:16:22 PM
From your question I think you are referring to mining in windows, use the new amd adrenaline drivers like 17.12.1, go to the radeon control panel-->gaming-->global settings change the setting for gaming to compute that will be having the same effect as using the blockchain drivers.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power Supply Ports on: January 12, 2018, 04:25:33 PM
The maximum PCI-E specification of a PCI-E 8-pin connector is 150W, not 360W. The maximum specification for a 6-pin PCI-E connector is 75W.

The PCI-E specification is not just based on wire gauge. It's also based on power delivery. Wires and connectors have resistance. The voltage drop and power dissipation as heat increase as you increase the current. The resistance of connectors also tends to increase as they are plugged and unplugged so after enough uses they can overheat and even melt when passing a large current. Which is why it's NOT safe to overload a 8-pin connector with more than the rated specification. ESPECIALLY for a mining rig under constant high load 24/7.

Yes that is rated to the pcie pins including the socket and connectors. I'm saying wire wise there is no issue for 1 8 pin into 2 8pin. 150w limit is to the Socket on gpu side which is still draw of 1 gpu, on psu side the 150w limit is not true. Howevery I do agree that through the entire connection, the highest stress point is at the psu 8pin connection sockets. If any overdraw happens this is where it is most likely to heat up first.

Brand of PSu is very important, that why we are paying more for the corsairs, all the ratings are standards to abide to at minimum but good brands always surpass them by quite abit. I have tried running the hx1200 at 1400w for almost 3 months 24/7 ambient temp at 28c with no issues. Hence the confidence for their build. Of cos this does not apply to any other brands.

That doesn't mean the attack is unreasonable or wrong  Cool

Anyone can say he is a scammer , but for a general public need some prove first to believe in that  Smiley if you are used that pool ,and you did not get paid , then you can say for sure he is a scammer.

yes he is used a open source software for his pool setup , just like many another pools using it... but at least he did not removed the link on the botton of the page to the GNU license and to the software developer website , so he is not saying thats my software Smiley

Dero Coin has been introduced here on bitcointalk on dec 5th 2017

He can not be a scammer just bc he recently joined bitcointalk ... I was a very "active reader" on this forum for 6 years , learned a lot just from reading , without posting anything , without forum registration.

Of course all of us skeptical when "newbies" creating someting new , the reason is ,bc there is a lot of scam around here Smiley
So give him a try , and post here your own experience , befor calling someone a scammer...
im not saying he is not , im asking you to prove it Smiley

stocks.exchange is a small, but reliable exchange
You can find some review about it on the internet from well know forum members from another forums there is one for example ,
its also listed on coinmarketcap.com

This I agree, not not gonna make him "not a scammer" regardless. If he started a legit pool he should start a proper thread to promote his pool rather than "Be smart get 3x more earnings". I have a masters in psychology from University of Buffalo New York, I dont think I've judged him wrong. You will see. Lol

Splitting an 8-pin PCI-E connector to dual 8-pins is not recommended. That's a good way to overload the PSU cable and rail with up to 300W. That PSU has 4 PCI-E ports. With 3 cards and 6-pin risers, you can use 3 PCI-E ports for the VGA 8-pins and use a 8-pin to dual 6-pin splitter cable to power two of the the 6-pin risers. The last riser can be powered with a 4-pin molex to 6-pin adapter cable.

This is safe bot to me thats way below what this psu can deliver. There's 4 pcie slots and a max power rating of 750w/62.5A at 12v, so thats 187.5w from each pcie port safely with should be much higher. using 2 570s with undervolt from one output is not an issue based on corsair standards.

Except that it's not. For one thing the total capacity of the PSU has nothing to do with the maximum rating of the individual ports or the cables. RX 570's even undervolted, mining Equihash or dual mining can easily use 100-110W each from the VGA 8-pin. In the best case, that's 200W+ from one cable. Depending on the gauge of the wire used for the cable you would be far exceeding the the rated capacity of 18 AWG cable, which is 10A or 120W max at 12V. If 16 AWG cables are used, you would still be drawing over 200W from one PSU connector and it's NOT safe, especially for use in a mining rig under constant load 24/7.

http://www.rowand.net/shop/tech/wirecapacitychart.htm

This I agree as wire used is very impt, got to consider cable load and psu load simultaneously. So I always make sure the cables are of quality build. As the op is stating corsair, in my own experience cables are of no issues. Been using corsair especially the hx1200 extensively, abusively at times but they held up well. Cool

"Depending on the gauge of the wire used for the cable you would be far exceeding the the rated capacity of 18 AWG cable, which is 10A or 120W max at 12V."
And dont forget, pcie using 3 +12v wires not 1. So theres no issue if u calculate it right.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! U can't do shit!!! To scam you need to put in effort. Apparently you think most people here are as stupid as you. HAHAHAHA!!! God Damn u r stupid.
how did you jump to  that i'm trying to scam ? did you search first or just an idiot comment without knowledge ??
give some proofs or shut up and go laugh somewhere else ..

Hahaha knowledge? Talk about knowledge when u learn to make a proper website instead of from template dumbass. Trying to scam in a knowledge base shows how stupid and ignorant you are. Your brain is a lump of joke lol.
template dumbass .. Oh !! it hurts .. even if my pool" looks dumbass" as you said "despite the fact that it's look much better than most of other pools " that doesn't mean we scam anyone ? or you have proofs " or even for  the Dero coin itself " ..

Alright I'll be kind and give u a tip for free for the next scam. Go buy yourself a account that is not still a newbie with no posts. Idiot. There is no need to prove to you. Rather u have to prove u r not a scam.
i just joined bitcoin talk very soon .. and we made this pool yesterday "and we made 1 before for DCY coin and it works fine " .. if you didn't get payed then say what ever you want about our pool .. otherwise don't talk about us like that !!
this coin you can find a block every 2 Hours with only 19Kh/s .. so it's easily to know if it's a scam or not (if you didn't get Paid on time ) ? ..
let miners deside that... we do our best do improve our pools " not to hear you are scam and you didn't even try the pool WTF"

lol. if u have been in cryptocurrencies long enough to setup your own pool u wouldn't have only joined bitcointalk "soon" (its called "recently" dumbass). so either u created a new account to scam or u dont know shit about crypto. i guess which isit? Cool

just a piece of advice, u r too stupid to do a scam. successful scams need brains and knowledge which is something u do not have. go find a job more suitable for your intellect level like maybe... asking your mom for money???Grin Grin Grin

You should be more careful about the riser connection though, each riser can draw max 75w on 6pins and the per +12v cable draw limit is ard 54w (only 1 cable for sata but 3 for pcie, thus the ability to split to 2 gpus). so i would split the riser cables and plug into 3 separate peripheral and sata ports. 2 risers to 1 port would be hot, 3 would last u below 1 week before it melts at the ports.

Howdy Folks! I'm in the process of building out my very 1st rig!

Today, I purchased a new PSU (Corsair RM 750x) on the back of the power supply where you plug your cables in, I had a question about those ports.

The ones that are labeled "Peripheral & Sata" can I plug in another PCIe cable with two 6+2pin connector? ( Link to product: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/type-4-sleeved-black-pci-e-cable-with-pigtail-connector-and-capacitors-for-type-4-psu )

This rig will have a max of (3) RD570 GPUs with just the bare amount of hardware (Mobo,RAM, CPU, HDD) to run it.

Thanks in advance!

-N

No, PCI-e has different pins and it wont Fit to SATA/Peripherals, you can't put in there Physically

you can install more than 3 NVIDIA 1060 GPU on this PSU.
I did 6 1060s on this psu with no issues lol. 570 wise the draw is slightly higher so 4 is safe. Yes u can connect 2 gpus from one cable from the psu not an issue.

Hello I dont understand how do I get "account" to start mining?
1. I have PascalCoin wallet running and synced but I still dont have a clue how to make account or receive one?

2. Are all accounts available only with payments in BTC? 3. How to get account by mining?

4. To start mining on https://pasc.nanopool.org/help#account I need account number and it say I get one in Pascal wallet. I go to wallet I there is no any my account, I read help... it say I need to mine to get account. but I need account to start to mine?  Roll Eyes And it also say to use poloniex so I checked on poloniex and got the number for account but it say to use also payload "You MUST send your deposit using the unique Payload above. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your deposit." and if I generate the miner config at https://pasc.nanopool.org/help I get -dwal xxxxxx-xx.0.rig1 and no payload

Can you help to understand this better?

thank you

1. u should create a private key in the wallet (project → private keys → generate a new key) and make a backup of it (project → private keys → export all wallet keys to a file).

2. u may buy an account for pasc here or here. but first of all u should get few pasc on the exchange (polo).

3. follow the pool's instructions pasc.nanopool.org/help and set ur polo (with payload) or local wallet to receive mined pasc. also set public key (not private!) after u get 4000 pool rating → u'll get an account to this key for every mined 20 pasc.

4. u may use polo's account with specified payload.

bottom line.

the easiest way to get an account:

1. go to poloniex.
2. buy 1-2 pasc.
3. generate a private key inside the wallet.
4. register at pascwallet.com (don't forget to set ur public key: project → private keys → export public key).
5. send 1-2 pasc from polo to pascwallet with correct payload (see deposit details at pascwallet).
6. buy an account for 1-2 pasc at pascwallet.

Okay I have succeeded to run miner for Poloniex account. 1. So I have to mine on pool for Poloniex account until I have at least 20Pascal and rating more than 4000 on pool but after I have 4000 rating then I am able to set my public key so I need another 20Pascal? and then I will get my own account (for approx 4 months with my GPU) and then 2. I will be able to solo mine locally with my own account? Or I can mine solo already now? text in red in your quote by the way it is a little confusing on help from Nanopool it mention Address (there is no address), then Payment-ID which is actually Payload, and asks for mail so on... btw the config creator works perfect

So how do I actually get an account if there is no Poloniex and BTC?

Thanks

1. actually u'll get an account with the next payment after 20 pasc from the pool. just for the record. not forget to set ur public key in the pool's parameters when u get rating 4000.

2. solo mining is pointless especially with 1 GPU. u'll continue mine inside the pool after u get an account. the difference is that all mined pasc will go to ur address without a payload (just change the miner config).

Hi, just want to clearify on 1 issue. To change the pool settings we need 4000 ratings? Not 10 as written in the settings page? If its 4000 then I understand why I can't change my settings now.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: HELP! Mining PASC on Nanopool no ratings on: January 12, 2018, 01:31:01 AM
wait few hours if it didn't work try the same setting with another wallet address or send them a email.

Thank you for your reply, the system have been running for a couple of days and there is still no ratings. The shares history is working fine recording hourly positive shares. Emailed nanopool 2 days ago but no replies from them as well. Wondering, as I do not have a PAS account in my wallet, is it right to use my pub key in the address section? If its ok I really dont see what I'm doing wrong.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / HELP! Mining PASC on Nanopool no ratings on: January 12, 2018, 01:09:12 AM
Hi everyone, I've been mining pasc on nanopool using claymore dual eth/pas for a few days.
This is the first time I'm mining pasc so I have downloaded the desktop wallet and have my public key.
The miner is mining well having consistent accepted shares showing up on nanopool my account page. I have over 25 PASC now awaiting payout.

So I tried to input my public key into the nanopool settings page to receive the PASA for every 20 pasc mined, however the settings page displays incorrect password which is my email.
I have only 1 worker and realized that my rating is 0 despite the shares. I think this is the cause why I'm not able to change settings as I need at least 10 rating points.

Is anyone able to tell me what am I doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated!!!

This is my claymore -dwal settings: my_pub_key.0.workername/my_email@mail.com

Interesting take on the subject.  I didn't realize that the accounts themselves could have such an important impact of the value of the coins down the pipeline.

I wont be deleting any accounts, regardless - but I will continue to mine it.

Ya I believe its a strategy little like Ripple in sense that it prevents the coin from being overloaded by spammed out web-wallets etc, it has some negatives as well of course but down the road could very well pay off.

__

I've made a ticket on Cryptopia this downtime is getting pretty insane.

As some previous individuals have asked whats the progress on getting this coin listed on another exchange?  I thought there was a few individuals willing to pitch in a several months ago and can imagine some of the massive miners of the coin would love to see it hopefully be better supported on a bigger exchange and the related growth as well.

For now the PASL is not worth a single cent with no exchange supporting it. With only one exchange trading it and currently down for weeks, I don't see any promising future for it. Creator not even able to get another exchange for miners to deposit into that shows how dedicated they are to their work. Good luck mining a worthless (at least true for now) coin.
