You went to Stanford? No dummy, JorgeStolfi. I went to a University you've probably never heard of.
I did not bring up the topic of my personal life here, others did. For some reason, that topic seems to absolutely fascinate some people here, far more than photos of triple bottoms and dead bulls. But if you must know, like most Brazilian computer scientists (and many other scientists) of my generation, I got my PhD overseas, paid by a grant from the Brazilian Government; and I was lucky to be acepted at Stanford. So? I think you misunderstand. I was showing admiration for your Education Level, you'll get neither envy nor jealousy from me. My wife has relatives in Sao Paolo by the way, it's a long story. And I agree with some others here that if you have no bitcoin then why would your opinion even matter?

If I was a gambling man, I would bet large sums of money that you have, throughout your life, used electricity created by burning coal to the extent that it was equivalent to a pound burned (most likely much higher).
No need to gamble; Stanford U. has its own coal-fueled power generation plant in the middle of campus. But the only coal I ever put my hands on was a small chunk that I found on the sidewalk next to that plant, once. You went to Stanford? No dummy, JorgeStolfi. I went to a University you've probably never heard of.

Huh? How do you suggest we factor in your mysterious non-existent tax? And anyway what *isn't* taxed? I'll tell you what isn't taxed after installation: solar power juicing up your EV is about as close as it gets.
I'm also curious for you to explain to me how the "charging price" of the sun goes up?
What makes you think ANY Government, Federal or State is gonna' do away with long standing fuel taxes? All those taxes we pay on "Fossil Fuels" will be transferred to the so called "Clean Energy Industry" and consumers will be made to pay at the pump (charging station). Guaranteed.

When the cost per vehicle is around 15K and Charging Stations are everywhere then it MAY be a viable alternative. What you guys aren't factoring in is the Taxes that will be added as more of us adopt electric car tech. Also the charging price will go up as gov't subsidies are reduced. Will ultimately cost the same or more as everyone pays now. You know it's true. Cross Country in 76 hours? That's not so fast. I went from California to Maryland in about 4 days in my Truck while pulling a loaded trailer and doing 65 mph MAX. (try THAT with yer little expensive go-cart)

I'm beginning to doubt this whole thing. Bitcoin isn't anonymous and is actually more traceable than cash, it is actually run by a secretive central core of developers instead of being decentralised, has massive security issues instead of being rock solid technology. It was never meant anonymous. Bankers can't "QE Infinity" Bitcoin out of all it's value, that's a good thing. Software Programs continually have updates to improve performance and plug Security holes, does that make you lose faith and stop using them? No.

You know this BitCoin manipulation/consolidation/flatulation, whatever it is, makes me think that it's gonna' remain at 780-820 or so for the foreseeable future and has got me thinkin' that MAYBE it's time to exit the BitCoin Market. And I imagine a lot of other noobs are thinking along the same lines.
But I won't.
And as a noob, I AM appreciative of all you guys trying to explain it though.

Another example is Fukushima radiation spreading around, even getting to US. Same thing. 100% man made shit. Oil and Natural Gas come from the Earth. Radiation of that type doesn't, unless you (or Algore) wanna' say that happens too. But you DO notice that the powers that be don't wanna' address Fukushima? Wasting time on "Global Warming" that's why. Stop with the distractions please!

Temperature on other planets goes up and down too yet there is no Fossil Fuel Burning going on, no SUV's. Explain THAT one. (Hint: It's the Sun)
As far as Algore being a BitCoin fan that doesn't negate all his previous Snake Oil Sales. I'm sure he's a real nice guy in person and he got all choked up when he watched "The Notebook".
Doesn't matter, he's STILL a scam artist.

Let's get something straight here... climate change is not being sensationalised by RT, it is the inevitable consequence of raping the planet's resources and tipping the natural balance by over consumption, mass global de-forestation and burning all the fossil fuel that has laid untouched for millions of years beneath the earth's surface... these broadcasts by RT are concientious and valid early warnings... not sure how any intelligent person on this planet can put 'climate change' and 'scam' in the same sentence. Let's get something straight here... Global Warming is a junk science scam designed to separate YOU from your MONEY and FREEDOM. They even had to change the catch phrase from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" as the public caught on to their scam. Plus, Algore owns a carbon trading company, that's all you need to know that it's a scam for certain. Not sure how any intelligent person on this planet couldn't see that.

BitCoin is the "Reserve Currency" that all other alts are tied to. As the price of BitCoin rises, the other Alts fall. The inverse is also true. (In most cases)
I sold all my 480,000 some odd Doge's this morn at 201. As BitCoin finds a price to stabilize at (whatever that may be) I will buy back ALL my 480,000 Doge's for that much cheaper. OR I will buy MORE Doge's for the same price.
BitCoin looks like it's flopping around the 825 range (on btc-e) so I bought back all those I sold at 201 and bought back at 180. I missed that 176 price on Vircurex. (Darn it!) So, now I have ALMOST 550,000 Doge's. If I see that BitCoin starts rise, I'll do the same thing again.
