Hey Sylon, could you tell me when will the spreadsheet for the signature campaign be updated?
I joined the campaign 3 days ago and I have written 20 messages in the authorized threads : I hope I will get my stakes for this week.
Thanks for your reply.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem Vs Facebook on: August 31, 2017, 02:31:50 PM
Steemit subscription is free but if you want some audience, you have to buy some steem power. By buying steem token (or steem power) you became shareowner of the steemit project in a way. I’ve got an account, I’m posting on it (in French) about cryptocurrencies, but I’m a bit skeptical about this social network and here is why :
- It’s hard to get a real audience around your posts and content. You have to buy a lot of steem power (or be followed by a lot of people) to earn some money. My last post brought me 0.03$. You have to spend a lot of time to gather a real community around your purpose. It could be a waste of time.
- Steemit tries to promote quality content, but there as elsewhere, the girl showing her big boobs will get more “likes” and followers than you who have spent 3 days writing a long feature article on an interesting subject.
- Steemit is hard to understand. My friend and I have spent a lot of time reading how it works, and discuss to understand everything. But we are still lost about some obscures points… I think people are too lazy to try to understand steemit’s complexity.
- Steemit is austere. You easily get lost in the interface. It’s a struggle to write an article with the editing tools in markdown and so on.

For all these reasons, I think facebook still has a bright future. (And I don't like it).
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SiaCoin: what do you think about it? on: August 31, 2017, 09:08:46 AM
I've been reading about SiaCoin lately, and have invested a bit of money into it. But since that, the currency has lost half of its value.
What do you think about this coin? Do you think it will get some more value in the near future?

I read that it will be some upcoming improvements (6 to 18 months). Will this do the difference?

“1 - Next 6 months: proper support for small files by reducing minimum file size from 40 MB to 100 KB. This is absolutely huge imo. While a casual user might not be able to be a host, they can be a buyer. Most files people use are just not that big. Pictures and songs are a few MB. Small work files such as word, excel, powerpoint will be able to be backed up easily.

2 - Ability to recover your files only using recovery seed. Now you can carry your wealth in your head wherever you go by just memorizing your BTC wallet seed, in the next 18 months you will be able to do the same with all your files, doesn't matter where you are in the world. This is huge for journalists, protesters, human rights advocates, people who just generally live in more heavily censored parts of the world.

3 - Increased customization/parameters for choosing host in next 6 months. (price vs performance) I like this because it helps with lowering cost with long term storage as well as helps lower the barrier to entry for being a host. Maybe I access files once a year, uptime doesnt matter to me in this case. I could potentially go for an ultra low cost host who has low uptime then.”
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Wave new trend in H4 on: August 31, 2017, 08:40:53 AM
I hope you are right, but I think that we must be patient. The big boom is not for now.

Yes you are right, I expect 10-15% in short time.

Very good news. With all that I hear right now about waves these days (Burger King, partnership concentrates on the detention of ICO for Russian mining companies, which brings some legitimacy to the platform, ...) it's obvious that it will rise. But as you say, in short term we must not expect a big jump.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need your advice, please on: August 31, 2017, 08:25:56 AM
Waves is most popular coin at this moment. This coin growth is high and good effective coin I think.I own 1000 waves when per coin value is 1$  than I bought this coin.

Chances are there because the price of Waves will increase because from many days the value of Waves is 5$. So by the end of the year, there is a chance for Waves to reach more than 10$ and even if you wait it may reach to more than 20$.

How could you say that Waves will probably reach more than 10$ in the end of the year?
I believe in waves but all projections were wrong. Waves should have already been at 10$ this summer.

Is the social network campaign still active? I subscribed today, follow, like and so on, but my stakes number is still stuck at 0 on the blocklancer bounty platform...

Hi,

Thank you for your support!
Yes the campaign is active. The update of the stakes takes some time.

Kind regards
The Blocklancer Team

Thanks for your kind reply. I will check it out tomorrow and see if everything is fine.
Good luck for your presales!
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever heard about a decentralized freelance platform ? on: August 30, 2017, 10:54:34 PM
Everything is in the title. I would like to kown if a decentralized freelance platform was already launched somewhere?
A place where you can hire freelancers and get freelance jobs online based on the blockchain technology, without paying fees to a company.
That was another non-sense idea, I give you an example such as blocklancer project. The idea is a very nonsense in my opinion, They declare that the decentralized freelance platform but it looks the team doesn't know the definition of the decentralized. Bitjob is just another non-sense thing with decentralized word. Where they get the decenltralized?

Could you develop the thread of your thought, please?
Unless the fact that a platform like blocklancer is still taking a small fee, as it's written on the website ("Our fees are only 3 % per job, several times lower than on other freelancing websites. Freelancing will finally be a lucrative way of earning money - and reliable as well.") I think this is a good idea.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever heard about a decentralized freelance platform ? on: August 30, 2017, 10:48:25 PM
What are the benefits of decentralizing the platform?

Freelancers don't let a small amount of their gains to the platform holder and payers don't give a fee to the platform, everything goes to the freelancer. I see a financial interest on both sides...

Bitjob
Bitjob is a decentralized marketplace for student employers and will create a platform that allows peer-to-peer connection with freelancers and employers. ICO has not started yet and will start soon.

Thanks for your reply!
Is there a thread on bitcoin talk about this project already or not?
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever heard about a decentralized freelance platform ? on: August 30, 2017, 09:49:18 PM
You probably want us to answer Blocklancer https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1974481
I think I also see a few others but forgot the name or names.

Honestly, this is a real question and not a trick to bring about a name in particular in this forum.
Thanks. I will follow this project because I'm truly interested in.

Finally I will have the opportunity to win some more money by selling my apps on a application marketplace. I'm looking forward to see this project alive!
Good luck to the team.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I need your advice, please on: August 30, 2017, 08:56:37 PM
I wonder why you are so in a hurry. Altcoins investment is rather a question of patience.

What I would suggest you it to put some money in ETH, which is going up and will in the next few months. It's safe.
Then I would suggest to look at the ICONOMI project : "ICONOMI funds are the perfect entry-level financial instruments for new investors in the decentralised economy. With preselection of coins and spread of investments, ICONOMI funds promise low volatility with high profits.  Potential investors are also welcome to participate in the ICO."
And finally have also a look at Lisk.

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WAVES Conspiracy!! on: August 30, 2017, 08:27:49 PM
This month, a partnership was announced between Gazprombank and Waves. The partnership concentrates on the detention of ICO for Russian mining companies, which brings some legitimacy to the platform.
But Waves is also the biggest Russian blockchain project and suddenly, Russia has plan to ban cryptocurrency sales to ‘ordinary people’… It could maybe explain why the waves value is not increasing.

I'm holding my waves patiently...
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum Reach 400 by the end of the week? on: August 30, 2017, 08:13:19 PM
Ethereum is pumping and nearing an all time high as the ETH blockchain will experience "Metropolis" soon, a system wide upgrade that will include other upgrades named "Raiden", "Casper", and "Ice Age". What exactly these upgrades will do is a question better left to Google but word is that because of these upgrades Ethereum is and will continue to boom.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum a threat to BTC??? on: August 30, 2017, 08:06:22 PM
Ethereum will not replace Bitcoin but it will pursue its current role: be the central and driving platform of the smart contract technology.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to assess an ICO? on: August 30, 2017, 02:35:13 PM
There has been an explosion of ICO's and i agree it makes it harder to find a good project from a bad one. But it is like any investment, you just need to do your homework and really have a look around. Also I would pick a field that you are interested in. This is due to the fact that you might know how that specific industry is doing, and if this concept can really work.

I would look for these qualities :-

- Strong team - Both in development team and also the CEO's / marketing (People focus too much on the developers which is important but not everything. no point having a great team to create something, if nobody can advertise it and push the startup in the right direction.)
- Realistic vision - not aiming too high or if they do not reach their target everyone who invested will be disappointed
- Solid whitepaper - Well thought out, shows realistic goals, a strong good vision and a plan of action
- Strong social media presence - A social media that shows they are connected with everyone
- Good customer support - Shows they care, and they have invested time and money into making sure the average investor can ask questions
- Good website - A business who is willing to throw time and effort into a good website are less likely to be a scam
- finite supply - ICO's with no cap can be dangerous and can simply just damage their own coin by releasing more for more investment.
-Market they are getting involved with - Is this a new market? or a dying one? who controls the market?

Finally
- Good concept and catchy name - A good ethos and a name that makes them stand out. Personally i would avoid anything that is something "coin".

Personally i am looking at Crowdholding as it matches all the criteria i listed above and i am interested in their concept of co-creation. Also they are in their pre-sale so you can get a lot more tokens for you money, compared to ICO's.

https://ico.crowdholding.com/

Hope this helps you!

yes it helped me a lot, I am wondering how people are getting million of dollars in funding through without having a poc or demo products to show, mostly they are just adding word decentralized with all the services we already have like decentralize search, decentralize social network and so and so and every project is listing some coin, I think we will need separate wikipedia for coin list soon.
I am interested in music, foodtech, entertainment and mobile technology related some good icos which can use blockchain technology to solve the current pain point.
I found Musicoin as a great project as it is a non profit project, when there is so much greed, its nice to find something nice.

@phoenixdowndee

This is an excellent summary to find the perfect ICO.
Nothing to add.

@mohucool
Yeah! You're right. A lot of people try to get out while the going is good and sometimes, there is nothing concrete behind all that. And actually more and more people begin to turn their attention to cryptocurrencies. So, it's really hard to say if all this is a true and strong innovation or if it's only a speculative bubble which could burst at any moment. Just like the Internet bubble in 2001...
