722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How HARD is it to trace someone on bitcointalk? on: November 06, 2013, 11:04:52 PM
Depends on many factors.

1. Is the scamemer in the same country/state/providence as you?

2. Did the scammer make thing into more of the civil/common law situation rather than the applicable criminal code (It could be a crime  in Canada but may be a civil matter in Italy.

3. Are you willing to trace the scammer via legal (law abiding way) or with some use of the gray-zone tactics.

4. How much resources are you willing to put into the scammer hunt?  (It may be possible to find the scammers to justice but the cost it may associated could be prohibitable for the average person)

5. Did the person use any black-hat technology while scamming you.  (may not be impossible but differently make things harder)

6. Are you willing to risk your reputation by possibly be in trouble with the local law.

7. Tor, Public Wifi, highjacked unsecured home wifi, restaurant wifi whatever the access is from, more than likely there might be some small mistakes made by the scammers.  We as average citizen can't access the recorded security camera footage from the local MacDonald even we traced the scammers to.  Paying off the store managers or local Lost Prevention guys to give up the store security footage can be very expensive.  Specially paying off the government officials or technicians who maintains Automated Vehicle License Plate Readers if the scammers were seen hopping into the vehicle.  Traffic Cams, train station cameras, general user's smartphone videos.  So many way to find the scammers but the resources it may take can stand in between

paying off your local wireless telephone customer service reps or legal compliance department reps to get the subscriber info for us average citizen is not so easy or cheap.  When it comes to the ISP subscribers info the same way.

May be we can trace the scammers to the local cat-house wifi or the hotel's business center computers.  Kids can lift the latent prints and collect DNA evidence from the crime scene, however, we don't have access to the database to compare the latent or any of these CSI evidence against, not alone local driver's license or vehicle registration info or even the utility service account holder's info to track them down to.

If the scammers are dumb enough to meet you in person again, then you can bag him/her but we just never know
723  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 38 th/s BTC miner on the way.. on: November 06, 2013, 10:48:22 PM
I have a feeling it would be a lot cheaper GH/S compare to the current price but the unit may have been designed for a large data center use or the multi-use system such as miner 1st then the extra heat get recycled for the office heater or pre-warm the water in the office building where the monster get housed.

Power spec is nothing out of the ordinary, if it was planned to be used as the industrial equipment.  May be that's where the OP mentioned that this could be a group-buy as it will be more than a buying a new car but buying the heave weight commercial shop machine.

with the 2TH unites or 1.2TH unites with 400% equipment upgrade guarantees on the market by end of this year or early January of 2014, the current home use type miners may have hit the ceiling.  Now, it could be a new break-through in the technology or just clustering the current technology like when the clustered PS3 for the super secret Government Use was an unthinkable past a few years ago, but it did existed.

Also, the price wars of the miners, it makes more sense that cramming more power into 1 humongous unit to come up with the manufacture's profit.  I'm sure these companies are making nice profit for the current 2TH unit sale price, but in order for whoever this is to stay in the game, reducing the profit per whateer the chips they are going to use but cutting the per-chip profit but compensate that with large number of chips in 1 commercial use unit.

Sometimes no name journalist can break the world news just by his/her crazy luck.  May be this OP fell into something he/she wasn't planning to be a part of.  Or, got succkered into the crazy scam but not realizing it yet.  Either way, we should stay tuned and see the result.

This OP is taking the risk of releasing unbelieable story by the mass by taking the chance with his credibility.  Let's at least give this OP do the information release as it was fed to the OP, so when the OP does the review, the OP won't withhold some info the OP think the readers may attack the OP again.

38TH/S will crush everyone if it did come out by end of this year and hit the network.  Most Pre-Orders for the higher end miners who paid $4000 and up will see their hope of ROI like the 4th of July fireworks.

MAY BE I'M DREAMING but it's possible....

I'm so disappointed with the current pre-order conditions and lots of mining investors who lost life savings but I'm trying to be positive today!  May be just Today...

724  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [Review] BFL "Little Single" ASIC on: November 06, 2013, 09:54:24 PM
Are you going to get the $4680 unit that can only crunch 600GH/S when the difficulties went up yesterday?

At least it's a good news that the product they made stand up to the spec stated in March of 2013!  How many BTC are you making a day from this unit?

733  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: so the halving time has been reduced for now : any site got a halving calc? on: November 06, 2013, 06:09:11 AM
Now many blogs and posts on the web are saying to Buy the coins instead of investing on the miners.  Others are saying the mining machine makers are making sweet profit while the miners are not getting their ROI.

I should have listened to those advice.  The coin went up from 220's to 250's in just 1 day
734  Bitcoin / Mining / ASIC miners on-hand for Sale Popping Up Everywhere on: November 06, 2013, 05:55:59 AM
ASIC miners are popping up on Ebay and Craigslist like crazy.  Most of them claim its a hot item that we can't buy today from the vendor and the machine will make you rich.

Many of the listing shows, they just received the unit a few days ago or the same day from BFL and others.

If the machines are making that much bitcoins, why are they selling them so fast?  I don't think they made their ROI in just a few days.

739  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: KncMiner Saturn: Not worth it (but if you disagree, buy mine) on: November 06, 2013, 02:36:06 AM
Should have bought BTC yesterday when it was still $220/USD range.  IT jumped to $240/USD today with the difficulties went up to 510 range.

now I'm afraid to buy BTC as it could dump with many people cashing out on their gain
740  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [Need Advice] Which would be best to buy? Hasfast or Cointerra on: November 06, 2013, 02:29:53 AM
Questions to CoinTerra...

With Today's Difficulties bump to 510, $6000 price unit may pay off just under $3,000 = -$3,000 in ROI.

If the tapeout is not done yet, any plan of increasing the GH/S Power at the time of the actual shipment?
