502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 10, 2014, 12:23:03 PM
We should publish that!

Why - so we can look like FUDsters along with Mt. Gox?

CIYAM always bringing the wiser and more mature perspective Smiley

I know and basically he is right, but it raises awareness nevertheless.

Imagine the same thing would be true for dogecoin.

That would be a fucking massacre.

The Nxt community is so defensive with its marketing strategies sometimes you should come up with a little more aggression (positive aggression^^).

You are right, fuck me Cheesy

Thanks and corrected Smiley

@CIYAM Open
Well they are obviously are having trouble to some degree, the price wouldn't crash like mad if it wasn't like this.

Twitter isn't the place to post a 1000 words technical analysis of the problem...

You have 140 characters

MtGox: Bitcoin Transaction Malleability bug

https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20140210.html

BTC Crash!

"Note that this will also affect any other crypto-currency using the same transaction scheme as Bitcoin."

NXT not affected!!

If we would get some big marketing campaign started right now, IT. WOULD. BE. HUGE!  Shocked

@marcus03
Looks so cool and runs really smooth  Smiley

About time to get some newbies on board  Cheesy

I'm not up to date with the community fund distribution but I think marcus03 should definitely get a chunk of it.
Especially since he's building an open source client as well now Smiley

511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top 5 alt coins, in order? on: January 30, 2014, 04:20:17 PM
1. Nxt
2. Bitcoin
3. Peercoin

Regarding Mixing Service. Do we need such on-chain service that mixes coins with anonymity-reliability trade-off? 30% anonymity means 70% reliability to get all the coins back. Yes, it means that with 100% anonymity u could get 0% - 200% coins back.

can you elaborate on how the mixing service can work and why such high risks are involved?
the anonymity feature is quite important in my view.
That's the first approach we have, there might be other and better approaches.

You should only use it if you do so regularly and if you are aware of the risk.

You could mix 1.000 Nxt and you end up with 700.

The chance for that is really low tho, if you're familiar witch stochastics the more transactions you have going on, the closer you end up at + - 0%.

I find it hard to wrap my head around, but it's maths Cheesy

What are BCNext thoughts on this whole mixing thing?

Quote
The concept is not ready.

His concept or the one we are discussing?

Are you still in contact with him?

I don't want to bother you or anything, it would just be good not to implement something to fast, when BCNext might have a better concept.

We should ask him to give first and pay him afterwards, CfB has quite a good reputation I guess.  Smiley
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 03:36:57 PM
I thought mixing would be a direct implementation on nxt code  Huh
That's right.
Otherwise it would be just another tumbler; centralized, high fees
518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 02:49:25 PM
Would it statistically even out if you do many transactions this way?

In the long run u would get ~100%.
Yea that's good to know.

If we would really do it like this, the mixing must not be obligatory.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 29, 2014, 02:46:15 PM
That would be a huge step for Nxt and cryptocurrency in general though.

It's still weird that u send 10K into the mixer and get 12K back... We'll be accused that we print coins out of thin air vacuum.
That's true it is weired indeed.
Is there an approach to solve that?

Would it statistically even out if you do many transactions this way?

wtf?

Wow, that's even better deal than my exchange  Grin

That approach is trustless, but the guy wants 1'000'000 NXT for that.

That would be a huge step for Nxt and cryptocurrency in general though.

The 1 million Nxt would go to someone who's smart and has a stake in something he supports; win-win-win, Nxt, it's community and him.
