Everyone who will login in #DECENT #ICO will have 3 hours to get the 50% Bonus. Valid for next 10 hours!
Can someone explain what this means.
The bonus if for the next 3 hours or 10 hours?

Can someone explain to me how this improves the security of GreenAddress. As I am new to BTChip and GreenAddress.

Process to use GreenAddress/BTChip
a) The GreenAddress seed is generated on the live machine.
b) I store a backup of the seed and notedown PIN
c) A copy of the seed is written to the BTChip
d) BTChip is able to sign transactions
e) However, the GreenAddress login can easily be done using the PIN. (without the need for a seed or BTChip). So, I assume the Green address seed is being stored somewhere on my PC.
f) Even if you were to use the BTChip for login. The mnemonic can be easily accessed from the Green address GUI, once the login is accomplished. If it can be accessed using the GUI, I assume the malware can access it as well.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: any good IPOs going on? on: July 21, 2014, 09:56:10 PM
They seem to be becoming increasingly berserk in terms of the upfront BTC they're asking.

If I liked some of the actual systems themselves, I'd be looking to buy post launch for some as there's no way they can justify the initial IPO price.

Yes, agreed. Most of the IPO right now, just put up a powerpoint/whitepaper and then ask for money. The real system will take months to implement.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: July 21, 2014, 09:16:58 PM
Amazed at this ICO. I really like syscoin and would invest if the ICO would be fair to investors, but asking 1500 btc for a 15% share is just ridiculous. Crypti asked 750 BTC for 85%.

How are investors going to make a profit on this one? Let's just be honest everybody and quit the long term bla bla crap. Most investors want a short term profit, and that's fine. We help you fund your work, make our profit and let others after launch help you with long term goals.

I may have missed the answer to this but have we established that a refund will be given to investors over the 750 btc set cap?

Yes, they stated there is a cap and all investments that come after the cap is meet will be returned.

How will the refunds be processed?
Will they be returned to your account on BTER or you would need to apply for it separately. If so, how will you prove the BTER account belongs to you. (without giving away your password).

In Chinese, bter behavior has been suspected of illegal fund-raising charges, this is very serious in China

Can you provide further details on this. I have some funds on BTER, is it okay to keep them there.

12  Economy / Speculation / Re: rpietila Wall Observer - the Quality TA Thread ;) on: June 27, 2014, 06:29:00 PM
In Adam's thread, I posted this, but I'm looking for actual rational intelligent feedback on updated BTC risk factors, so I repost here:

On a scale of 0 to 100, my risk factors are something like this:

Satoshi coins - .001% probability or less, impact 10, duration 3 = .0003
ECDSA vulnerability - .01% or less, impact 10, duration 2 = .002
Implementation vulnerability - 1% or less, impact 8, duration 1 = .008
Bitstamp defection - .1% or less, impact 8, duration 2 = .016
Social apocalypse - 1% or less, impact 6, duration 10 = .6
Mining centralization - 5% or less, impact 5, duration 5 = 1.25
Nuclear war - 2% or less, impact 8, duration 10 = 1.6
US AML Fungibility crisis - 20% or less, impact 9, duration 10 = 18
unknown unknown - NaN

What is your timeframe for probabilities. If you have a long enough time frame 2 to 5 years, I would assign greater probabilities to - Implementation vulnerability(>1%) and ECDSA (>0.01%).

It is my opinion that if we want to catch up with the more established 2nd gen coins, we must shorten the gap quickly by implementing the features that require the least amount of time first! I support the community's decision, and thank you all for your participation!
