Mine as well. The client runs fine. However, it is unable to connect to any nodes.

i am coming!
i suggest xcp team use MXCP for Unit NOW。especially the net Wallet。like Mantissa pricing, this is Scientific research
and then it seem like more Bargaining chip for Issuance of asset
and more people like buy it because it seem so cheap like dogecoin
if 1.3 usd can buy 0.1XCP and 100MXCP ,i think you will choose 100mXCP because 100 look so comfortably then 0.1

Foresight

XCP will have a bright future.  2,648,496 is such a small quantity.   i think we should use mXCP as default unit from now on.

As a possible newbie coin-buyer, judging strictly from the chart action, is this coin dead?

Yes it is, go post somewhere else, thanks.

Great

I assume that PhantomPhreak moderates this thread? I would suggest reviewing BelleBite2014's posting history and using that to consider either issuing a stern warning or possibly blocking him from posting his deconstructive negative commentary altogether.

I think I speak on behalf of the community when I say that if someone does indeed post a misinformed post, or embellished rhetoric, that I would rather see that on the thread by itself, then to also see a community member bashing that person.

Burn XCP with online wallet blockchian.info.
want to send the XCP to others.
Anyone help to instruct how to deal with it?
Thanks.
You can follow the instructions here and setup the client
http://goo.gl/z5algZ
(created by HalfCab)
or if you want it easier, wait a week or two for the release of the WebClient.

AuroroCoin attacked:

Just a cautionary note about moving to other PoW chains with low hash rate.

I'm not technically savvy, is there documentation on how to import XCP from blockchain.info address (used this to burn) to the web wallet? Do you recommend this or should I wait until the web wallet is out of testnet? Thanks!

Wait till the web wallet is out. You cannot import Real XCP into the testnet.

There was a huge buy wall today at 0.0045. Someone sold 10,000 XCP against it.

Seems to me any sell-off from the wallet launch is priced in already. I expect an uptrend soon after launch. I'm looking forward to consolidating my holdings to one address. I have no interest in selling since I'm building a diversified portfolio of next gen assets. I am interested in using XCP to operate a hedge fund where investors can hold specific assets, sectors or the whole fund.

Hedge fund?!! Damn, I am in.

Thanks! What I have in mind is a Doug Casey type portfolio for the fund - 1/3 precious metals, 1/3 currencies, 1/3 equities, mainly in resource stocks, also some high tech and start-ups, with the high risk/high yield portion limited to a total of 10% of the fund, and no bonds of any type.

Very interesting.
It will be very useful for those who need to diversify from the volatility of BTC, but hold their wealth in the blockchain.

So if I understand correctly the pyrpcwallet does not require a bitcoin blockchain sync ? Can someone please link me to this Huh And I assume there's docs for it Huh
Here is the link to pyrcwallet.
https://forums.counterparty.co/index.php/topic,166.0.html
The instructions seem to be for Mac(brew). If anyone figures it out for Windows/Linux let me know.
EDIT: See instructions from Jahpowered bit (on the last page) for installing sqllite without brew.

hi !

before excuse my english... i m french !

during XCP ipo, i proof of burn 4 times btc in XCP on the same address but never above 1 btc in tot.

today, i import my XCP on boottle xcp great but just the first transaction of four appaear in boottle xcp... Cry

how can i credit the others transactions ?

Thks for your help.

JMTOOCOOL

have you checked your address with the http://blockscan.com ?

Yes, on blockscan.com, my 4 transactions appear on my btc address. The XCP sum of four transactions are correctly.

And you still get total balance in bottle xcp?

my total balance in bottle xcp is just about my first transaction, not the third others

Use the command line tool and not the Bootle XCP. Can you see the 4 transactions. (were the total of all 4 transactions < 1 BTC).

JahPowerBit, developer of BootleXCP and pyrpcwallet, has joined Counterparty full-time.

+1 Yeah
Correction: JahPower bit will join the counterparty team soon (instead of has already joined)

Quote from the Mastercoin forums:

Any comments from developers about Mastercoin and OP_RETURN changes? Can you fix mastercoin code working perfectly without that and how long it takes?

Neither with 80 nor 40 byte OP_RETURN was useful to store MSC data because of it's limited length. The Bitcoin core devs were furthermore discussing to drop multisig transactions in their current form as standard transaction type. The MSC devs are acting proactive and are working on a new encoding scheme right now. I see it very positive, because this will yield something even more sophisticated.

Benefits for Bitcoin users
Counterparty provides us (Bitcoins users) the ability issue shares, pay dividends and trade on a distributed exchange using BTC (without the need for XCP). This is a valuable functionality for all Bitcoin users and increases Bitcoin's value proposition. It is not in the best interest of Bitcoin users to shutdown this valuable functionality. Especially when there are competitors like - - Ethereum, Nxt, Protoshares, eMunie whom will have asset trading platforms built into their blockchain.
Unfortunately, it sounds like the Counterparty team is not interested in being a teamplayer and working with Bitcoin development, and giving Bitcoin no choice but to activate self-defences.
Please distinguish between Counterparty "team" members (there are only two developers) and the supporters, fans, and investors (the rest of us) who are certainly feeling frustrated and confused, and can't always make sense of what seem like arbitrary rules.
PhantomPhreak is one of the two listed, and has expressed that he is only willing to do things under certain Bitcoin-hostile terms.

We're not going to regress from relaying our transactions through the main Bitcoin network to relaying them, through central points of failure, directly to some subset of mining pools that have specifically whitelisted us with a patch. We won't depend on any feature not supported by vanilla Bitcoin Core, even if it means storing the message data in unprunable, (or even unspendable!) outputs for the time being.

PhantomPhreak is saying that he will NOT do something that depends on enlisting a small subset of mining pools, precisely because he wants to be a team player and build only on "vanilla Bitcoin Core."
This is nonsense. Nobody on the Bitcoin Core dev team wants Counterparty to abuse multisig.
"Enlisting ... mining pools" is the only alternative to forcing mining pools against their will by hiding it in multisig (although hopefully soon we'll have a filter to deal with that).

Eligius is over 10% of the network, so it's hardly a "small subset" anyway.
Besides, if you're so confident that the other pools won't freely service Counterparty, maybe you should really re-think whether forcing it on them is acceptable??

Jesus Christ, what a troll!

Take your goatee and go away please?

You seem to be a more involved in the Mastercoin thread. Please, do not piss off someone in the name of Counterparty.

PM each other for communication is more suitable for this stage.
+1
This seems to be the best option right now, for the Counterparty devs and Bitcoin devs to engage via private channels.
The back and forth on the threads will not contribute to a productive dialog.
