361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How police think about Bitcoin enthusiasts ? on: June 03, 2016, 03:52:34 PM
When it comes to a crime, what would the police think about a guy trading with bitcoins frequently in large volumes ?(hundreds of BTCs)

I've heard they can't stand bitcoin dealers out and they become a suspect immediately with no questions asked in case there's a crime where the bitcoin enthusiast is involved. Is that true ?

Depends what country you live in and how much time the Cops have on their hands.
362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prism is a SCAM on: June 03, 2016, 03:50:35 PM
It may have been a scam, but I just sold my PRMs yesterday for x2.
So...

you meant you installed desktop wallet although it has a possibility of malicious inside???

I recommend you wipe out their desktop wallet when you sold at your favor.

No, I didn't install the desktop wallet.
I just asked them to send me the PRMs on my Yobit address. Wink

It appears you were lucky.
They are sort of on Coinmarketcap - but I guess the 1 month free trial web hosting ran out and rather than investing a tiny fraction of ICO funds on hosting they have run away quickly.

364  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 03, 2016, 01:58:02 PM
I didn't want to post this in the Gulden Announcement page to avoid bias opinions but wanted to know if Gulden is a safe bet compared to other alt coins. The reason I am asking is I noticed there ranking on coinmarketcap is way below other coins that have nothing going for them or is it that the other alt coins are way over priced?

I haven't got any Gulden - but I do have some views on it.

I would say that it is a long term investment contender.
It's not a run of the mill scrypt/sha256 bitcoin clone - uses DELTA POW.
The devs tool a 10% PREMINE. This would be enough for many on BTC to start writhing and cursing like the little girl on the Excorist - however they appear to be spending this premine wisely and diligently.

Bottom line is that they seem to have quite big traction in the NL - if anything will break mainstream it could be somewhere like the NL where it happens and this coin would be an obvious choice.

My advice would be if you like a gamble, buy on the troughs and hold long term - it's pretty stable price wise anyway.

1BTC spent today in Bittrex!  Cheesy
366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Basic common sense advice for new people buying coins. on: June 03, 2016, 11:32:41 AM
Before buying any coins I would advise that people compile, mine, and play around with the GitHub source. Their is a mine of information in the source including how professional the devs are.
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 03, 2016, 11:19:39 AM

Briefly:

Sasha or his team didn't contacted with Yobit team. They will check the code of blockchain and will find a solution to send waves to their IOU tokens even if they will do it manually.

Surely, how they get their Waves is their problem alone?
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: June 02, 2016, 05:25:43 PM
Is it just me having problems uploading ID to Gatehub?
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Prism is a SCAM on: June 02, 2016, 04:20:48 PM
How many coins did they collect from the ICO?

Not too many I hope. Either was the most inept launch since MaxCoin or a scam.
370  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Does anyone here go to Bitcoin Meetups? on: June 02, 2016, 01:05:43 PM
It would really be nice to go. But then again, to me, it feels weird to see people you have only talked with insulted and abused online.

371  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Four Fascinating Ways To Get Free Bitcoins on: June 02, 2016, 01:02:13 PM
Forgive my ignorance - but what is a 'signature campaign'?  Cheesy

A signature campaign is:

A way for an advertiser to create an incentive for greedy people to fill the forum with thousands of posts of completely useless nonsense.  The advertiser offers a small payment in exchange for the user to add the advertiser's ad to the user's signature space.  The user is required to create a particular number of posts on the forum so that the advertiser feels that the ad will get noticed.  Since the average greedy unknowledgeable user doesn't have enough useful and well thought out things to say to meet the advertiser's quota, they end up just spamming threads all over the forum with useless drivel.  Several of the regular forum users have taken to blocking (using the "ignore" link on) all users with a signature ad campaign in their signature.  Therefore, by participating in such a campaign, you significantly increase the likelihood that helpful and knowledgeable users will never see anything that you post here.

Many thanks! I guessed it involved a forum sig but I was not aware of the rest- quotas and such.
372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: StarkaCoin (New altcoin for Minecraft, etc) on: June 02, 2016, 12:46:18 PM

Ummm what is this Belligerent Foolism..... Always upload source to GitHub, it literally takes 1 minute and isn't hard, if you can't do that then you didn't make the coin yourself hahaha.

Sorry and your right I didn't I paid a person to make it for me. I do not know much about making altcoins but I love the idea of it and I have been into bitcoin and altcoins for a couple of years now. And please don't give me criticism for not making it myself because like I said I don't know how but I really wanted to start one mainly because I saw that there was no altcoins for Minecraft but if there were other altcoins specifically for minecraft then I would not of made this altcoin because there would have been a need to. But anyways I will upload it to github and I will post the link to it as soon as its done.

Any reason why SHA256? I would have thought an ASIC resistant algo for POW would make more sense for a Minecraft coin.
373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coins to stake? on: June 02, 2016, 12:41:27 PM
Mining and the POW stance is too much energy consuming and basically unprofitable if you do't have free energy so now I'm trying to figure out what PoS coins to invest in!

In your opinion What are the best PoS coins to stake?

PIGGY is cool. Stakes in hours - approx 3% pa. Fairly good volume for a POS and steady rising cap. Fair initial distro of the original scrypt POW coin which it replaced.
374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many profitable ICO ventures are ahead of us? on: June 02, 2016, 12:38:13 PM
Let's be honest. Sooner or later, this is going to come to an end.

People were thinking along those lines regarding the London property bubble. But it didn't end and has been going on for years.
And, unlike property, new blockchain implementations have the potential (not all! some are just cut and paste clones) to disrupt entire valuable industries.

So - I think later rather than sooner.
375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES Price speculation on: June 02, 2016, 12:26:36 PM
There was a lot raised, so I don't think it will be more than 200% the ICO.

Is that market cap or each coin?  Grin
376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Soon Back To Sub 1 Dollar on: June 02, 2016, 12:24:28 PM
Ethereum IPO "Project" will soon go back to sub 1 dollar price, because there's not enough fools to maintain the price.
Whales have to dump before buywalls are being deleted causing a permanent downtrend similar to other failed altcoins.

This means ETH is dead.

It depends on how useful the smart contracts are - if they show potential then more investors will come in, if not then you may be right.

Where is Piggy?
Interesting coin, does reasonable volume on poloniex and rising market cap?
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves Exchange Speculation Thread - Raised over 29,000 BTC on: June 01, 2016, 10:48:13 PM
Waves holder are partying  Grin I've invested too only few though as people kept buying i end up nearly 300waves.
keeping these waves until time needed

Good for you!

380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] Anybody else find it difficult to keep up with so many coins? on: June 01, 2016, 04:32:42 PM
I've been buying coins since 2012 and it seems more difficult than ever to keep up with coin fundamentals and technicals.

No real difference to trading stocks then.

Also it is an opportunity - easier for interesting coins to be overlooked by the masses but can still be spotted by those willing to put in hard work and diligence.
