Unfortunately it seems like this coin is dead. No activity on github for over a month, their own web page still has not even updated the current algo, and the price is tumbling into oblivion. Currently you can get a whole masternode for 2 $. :-D

Such a shame, this sounded exciting ...

Thanks for your continued support and trust in CARE!

My oh my, the price action speaks for itself telling a tale of what investors think of their money being spent for animals instead of people ...

Also, reducing the MN rewards has helped tremendously with the price stabilization. Congrats guys, awesome work!

So what about the pools? it seems like hashvault and cryptoknight have both a lot of comp power, but they are on completely different chains. What do the devs consider the "correct" chain?

You can check which pools are on what block here: blockharbor.net pool health.

However, payments have been paused while the devs look into a possible 51% attack which appears to have been launched by the cryptoknight.cc pool operators.

Thanks for clearing that up. So it seems like there's a lot of guys mining in vain right now (including me up to a couple of hours ago^^).

1. POW - is good
2. POS - is good
3. PODC - is the best
4. POW, POS, PODC - is silly

What next?

Instability that destroys us here...

In simple words....
What part of BBP is PoS? The masternodes? The staking requirement for PoDC? You believe the current setup is silly?
This is irony, we need stability. We can`t make constants changes.

I know what you mean and I have to agree. I follow this coin for almost a year now and to be honest I am more and more confused of everything that's going on here.
We switched from standard "CPU mining" to a "mining for good cause" version, which was a BIG step forward and widely appreciated. But since then things got ever more crazy. There was some idea of a stock market calculation mining, then there was some idea of file hosting, now it's some idea of favouring charitable people. All of these I have no clue how they could ever work or how they even would be realized.
Furthermore it's really strenuous to change the complete system every couple of months. People being new to this coin will read through some documentation and just leave flabbergasted.

How are you ever planning to find investors if it is impossible to explain how this coin works or how this coin will work half a year from now?

To top things of, there seem to be endless arguments between e. g. the dev and the PR guy or the dev and core users etc.

I follow quite a lot of cryptos and I gotta say this is a VERY active coin and community, especially considering the current market cap we're at. But unfortunately there is still quite some difference between "active" and "productive" or "efficient". Sad

What's going on with the network right now? Is Herominers again on another fork? They seem to have more hashrate than the whole network combined. :-D

Seems like there is definitely some chaos the last couple of days. Ah well, as long as the price goes up (with the actual project being functional) it's just temporary hickups I suppose.

Does anyone else have a problem with withdrawing from the main pool? It doesn't work for me since yesterday. I get the confirmation mail, the link says "transaction verified" but it never works and my funds are unchanged ...

Is this a manual withdrawl? Did you try that? I could never get auto withdrawls to work. It was a few months ago, I just used manual withdrawl.

Yes, it's a manual withdrawl. Both (manual and auto) worked perfectly for me the last couple of months (until yesterday). Wink

Wow, Binance seems very charitable nowadays:

Maybe BBP will have a chance to get listed there after all. Smiley

Guys, what the hell are you doing? You introduce a hard fork and don't care to post anything here? Even your own website still links to the old wallet!

I set up a masternode today and was wondering why the website states 120k collateral, whereas the guide states 150k. However it seemed to work with 120k. Then I read something about block 240k king node introduction and reduction of payouts and was confused when 10 minutes ago I received a 180 CARE payout for a masternode I set up 2 months ago.

So first question: what happens with the 120k masternodes? Are they still working now?

Second question: what happened with my newly set up MN? I guess this isn't valid anymore?

Third question: What is this ANN for if you don't even "care" (pun intended) to announce fundamental things like a hard fork??

Fouth question: How about keeping your own website current and not linking to old wallet files and stating old facts that aren't valid anymore?

Fifth question: Your coin is listed and operated on mintnodes, but it seems like they are still on the old chain. Has anyone even bothered to inform them? What happens to all the coins they paid "wrong"? I withdrew over 100k a couple of hours ago, but of course those coins arrived on the old wallet and are not in my 4.0.0 wallet now (and not on mintnodes any more either...). So I guess those coins are lost until someone at mintnodes updates to version 4.0 and has my coins still on there??

This looks very sloppy and rushed and very much makes me regret investing in this "operation".

I really like the proposal of 616west to remove the coin mixing/private send. I tried mixing for months and never really got it to work with BBP (right now I still only have a little over 3k mixed coins; with other coins this is working much better ...). Additionally, if anyone really wants to have "privacy" he can and should revert to the plethora of "cryptonight"-coins. Not to mention the fact that I don't deem it an appropriate (or necessary) feature for a Christian coin.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay ✟ Governance ✟ Help Orphans ✟ PODC Cancer Mining ✟ Deflationary ✟ on: October 02, 2018, 08:49:24 PM
Anyone have any thoughts about using the biblepay pool vs. the purepool? Are there situations where one is preferable to the other?

BiblePay Pool (pool.biblepay.org) requires you to register an account and then create a workerid. The pool most resembles mpos style.

Purepool is anonymous where your wallet address is the workerid. This is like yiimp style. It is easier to get set up and PoW mining on purepool IMO.

Thank you for that explanation. If I may press my luck for more help...

I'm having difficulty with the wallet and CPU usage-- it seems the CPU for BBP Core hangs out at 40% and doesn't go much lower (on a 7th gen celeron).  I have a 2nd wallet on an intel i7 with gneproclimit = 1 and it does the same.
Here's my config from the celeron:

Code:
addnode=node.biblepay.org
addnode=biblepay.inspect.network
gen=1
genproclimit=1
minersleep=20
poolport=80
pool=https://pool.purepool.org
workerid=MY_BBP_ADDRESS

Anything I can change further to lower the CPU usage? Thanks.

Edit: I'm noticing in Transactions, there is a PODC update that seems stuck on confirming. I'll let it run for a bit and see if when done the CPU goes back to normal.

If you want to lower your CPU usage just increase the minersleep value. Try 100, 200, or even 500 ms (if you don't really care about the hash you make when heat mining). The transaction should have nothing to do with this.

P.S.: You can remove the addnode lines and the poolport line, they are redundant
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay ✟ Governance ✟ Help Orphans ✟ PODC Cancer Mining ✟ Deflationary ✟ on: October 01, 2018, 09:21:59 PM
We're on mintnodes, and they show two sancs in the cluster:

Masternode Name Address  Status Masternode Name Address Status
BBP-1818   BKKSzifbm389qqHhmbJhXDnF9vNh93wnc6   ENABLED
BBP-1820   B9wirQgFvwW4TE7ffK2wyJbCA5u5Lks9gX   ENABLED

But I dont see either address in our global masternode list.     No coins generated yet on mintnodes.

I don't want to say "fishy" -- but something strange is going on with our setup.

Per their support e-mail their MN's are at:
B4rqF4W9S9n7tNXEipyyGSqrhPZkJWB9qr
BSsfcvKdmB4x4UB821EUdCZan2QBFkpYmz

Apparently "all other" coins pay to the address that is staking the balance,  I asked if they would update the UI to show our actual addresses.

It now shows the correct addresses on their page. On nodecheck.io they are now also accessible, show enabled and a runtime of 5-6 hours. So maybe tomorrow we'll have the first payout. Smiley

I just tested the mintnode payout to a wallet (not "reinvest") with a different coin and it worked perfectly.

Edit: oh, the first payment on BBP has been rewarded. And the correct amount was already added to my balance (in queue of course). Nice. Smiley

Im still having troubles in purepool miner statistics. It grew to

Invalid_CPID    Default    36
Illegal_CPID    Default    17

I think the problem is, from exec totalrac:

 "Note": "You have less stake balance available than needed for the PODC UTXO Target.  Coins must be more than 5 confirmations deep to count.  See coin control.",
  "Threshhold to receive 10% rewards (below this UTXO Amount rewards are lost)": 1164.3,

I have a thousand BBP, so at this moment I wont be getting any BBP right? An also, even if I compute, I won't get to the point of entering the 10% reward range. So, probably, I need to go to an stakin pool.

Please confirm both things, the error, and the stakin.

Yes you are right, it seems like right now you have way too little stake balance for too much computing power. The normal way would be to reduce the computing power on BOINC to lower your RAC, then wait until you get some payments. The moment you get payments, that's when all the errors on the pool should disappear. Then when your balance is growing you can increase your hash power towards BOINC again.
The other possibility is of course to buy some BBP on an exchange. Right now it's really cheap and you shouldn't have to pay too much USD (or whatever) to get you started.

However, to speed things up we could make an exception and you could just post a receiving address here and I'll send you some BBP so you can get started. Wink

Edit: On mintnodes there are now 2 MN installed and they both show "enabled". Can someone explain why they shouldn't get any rewards? To me everything looks in order ...

Is there any Raspberry wallet in the pipeline? thx
Depending on the OS you are running the standard Linux wallets should work fine on the Pi (maybe try Ubuntu for Pi or Armbian). Otherwise you could (theoretically) build them yourself, although the process can be quite tedious and the "make" usually takes hours. :-D
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay ✟ Governance ✟ Help Orphans ✟ PODC Cancer Mining ✟ Deflationary ✟ on: September 23, 2018, 09:13:44 PM
For everyone wanting to participate in a clusternode on mintnode: I now tested deposits and withdrawals and everything seems to work (albeit a bit slow...). Right now no one else has deposited any BBP funds there, so I will start with 100k and I hope that a lot of you guys will join me to get that 1.55 million filled. Wink

I'm in with my modest invest in a moment.

I've also sent some coins for testing. What's interesting is that their default 'Payout Method' is 'Reinvest'. So, if I understand it clearly, your rewards get send to the queue, and when a new Masternode is started, your rewards get invested in that automatically. I think that is very cool! So, once there are a few Masternodes on there, chances are that number will keep on growing (if people select the 'Reinvest' option).

With 88% ROI 12 masternodes would generate new masternode once a month. This helps them to keep masternodes running while allowing people to withdraw all the time as they hopefully have enough queue Smiley

good idea, but it won't Smiley the more nodes, the less income generated per node. anyways, i put couple of hundred thousands of BBP there, let's see...

Wow guys, just had a look again and we were already at 92% of the required balance. So I decided to add in the missing 125k. Let's see how long it takes for this balance to show up and how fast they are at deploying the masternode.

Good night and god bless. Wink

Well first of all, I don't really think I want to own theoretically more than 100 sancs, as that would kind of be redicules to maintain.
And I think with the expectation that we will have at least 500 nodes as we mature, that puts me down to a 20% influence level.

Let's stop the lies from Slovakia before they spread like a cancer.  Hopefully people are not dumb enough to believe when he just says things as if they are credible.

TRUTHS THAT CANNOT BE CHANGED:

WE HAD NO PREMINE
I BOUGHT MY COINS ON THE OPEN MARKET JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE
I ONLY MINED 10% TOTAL OF MY COINS (USING 10 HOME SERVERS AND 30 VMS SERVERS) AND HAVE SCALED THAT BACK AS YOU CAN SEE IN MY STATS OVER THE LAST 60 DAYS WHILE I PROGRAM MORE
I BOUGHT THE REMAINING 90% ON THE OPEN MARKET TO START SANCS (IVE BEEN BUYING FROM DAY 1 AND STILL BUY)
I PAID FULL RATE, GENERALLY 1 SATOSHI ABOVE OR BELOW THE MARKET
THIS MEANS MY INVESTMENT IS UNDERWATER BY 50%
YES IT IS MORE THAN $150,000 INVESTED OF PERSONAL FUNDS
I DIDNT RECEIVE .01 CENT OF FREE BBP
I CONTRIBUTED EXTRA TO COMPASSION AND THE ORPHAN FUND
I PAID FOR THE HACK INTO THE POOL (BY PAYING BACK THE BALANCES - THE FEES DIDNT COVER IT)
I PAID BTC FOR THE BINANCE SCANDAL LAST YEAR

That sounds quite reasonable (I think I couldn't even keep up with having 10 masternodes xD) and thank you for this roundup. Let's just hope the crypto market will recover next year and people will see the huge potential and hard work in this coin.
Don't worry about slovakia too much, half of the time his ramblings aren't even comprehensible.  Roll Eyes

Please vote BiblePay to be listed on mintnodes cluster node service.
Only 1$ per month per masternode.

"What is a clusternode? A clusternode is like a shared masternode, only better!
With a clusternode you will receive a reward when any one of the masternodes in the clusternode receives a reward.

Clusternodes don’t have seats, that's right, you can deposit as little as 0.1 of a coin and still receive rewards from that clusternode. This is possible using our patent pending Clusternode technology of bringing masternodes online and taking them offline. This also allows you to withdraw your funds at any time.

When you deposit coins into a clusternode, they will show up in your “Balance in queue” for that coin. Once enough coins have been deposited by the community, a new masternode will be added to the clusternode and your funds will be moved to the “Balance in cluster.” Once your coins have been moved to the “Balance in cluster” you will receive a percentage of each reward received by any one of the masternodes in the clusternode."

I think this is a very nice service (although the funds get sent to a third-party, so there is a degree of trust involved). But it seems like a very easy system.

I see that people have already voted and we're actually nr 1 at the moment! I would suggest to keep a close watch on the deposits, and maybe even enter a proposal to get us on that service if needed (if the price is not too high).

BiblePay is now listed on Mintnodes Clusternode service!

I registered and tried depositing some coins, but the web page right now seems completely overload. Maybe give it a couple of days. Nonetheless, BBP was listed and had a deposit address, so in principal it should work.

Regarding BBP masternodes (and the coin in general): as Rob said so himself, his hobby is setting up masternodes. Of course this is completely legitimate, but it also means that he NEVER will lose his voting majority, because sure enough this time next year he will have 150 masternodes and so on...
I think this might be one of the reasons this awesome coin cannot find any buyers. A huge gist of the whole crypto market is "decentralization". MN coins in general are thought to have disadvantages in this regard. Now if a coin openly admits to being centralized in their governance it surely isn't appealing for any crypto-investor.

What happened to this coin? Is it dead already? This sounded quite promising, but no activity anywhere except a few discord posts. Price is tumbling into oblivion ...
I bought some coins to start 2 masternodes. How long does it usually take between payments? My MN1 received his first payment more than 50 hours after going online with "enabled", the second one took almost 30 hours.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay ✟ Governance ✟ Help Orphans ✟ PODC Cancer Mining ✟ Deflationary ✟ on: September 16, 2018, 03:48:42 PM
I downloaded and installed 1.1.5.2 on Windows. Couple of questions/remarks:

1. For quite some time now (or since the beginning?) the Windows Installer does not look for the location BBP is currently actually installed. Since I don't have the wallet installed in the "Program Files" directory I manually have to change the install directory for every update. This is quite annoying and I think this would be an easy thing to fix. Wink

2. I tried the private coin mixing for a couple of months but never really got it to work, so eventually I gave up on it. Now I read that this could be related to the PODCupdate transactions preventing the coin mixing if they use the whole balance. Therefore I tried to limit this amount with the "utxooverride=" command in the config. However this does not work and it still uses the complete balance. Is there another command I can use?
The "privatesendammount=" command works perfectly, but of course my wallet still never manages to finish mixing.

3. The "QT: 0%" stands for the new "quantitative tithening" I suppose? Would it be helpful for testing this if I let my old Thinkpad run in testnet?

Edit: Well, that didn't go as planned. I just started it with gen=1 and testnet=1 and apparently it started it's own testnet, mining every block itself from scratch.  Grin
Any addnodes for the actual testnet chain?

Edit2: Ah ok, the utxooverride seems to work now. Unfortunately the coin mixing still shows no progress...
