181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion on: February 21, 2018, 12:10:18 PM
Does Bitcoin Need The Social Media's Help To Promote Itself?

Well, Bitcoin needs all the help that we can get. With its current situation, Bitcoin Foundation is just thinking out of the box to help Bitcoin recover and might even succeed.

With the help of Social Media, bitcoin can attract new and young users. Learn about bitcoin and eventually adopt it.

Maybe this is the first step of mass adoption.

What do you think?
Definitely social media is a very big help in promoting bitcoin. Just don't know the exact figure but many people are into social media. If you put hype on bitcoin at social media, i am sure many will got interested and value of bitcoin will rise.
182  Other / Archival / Re: Help a Beginner to understand... on: February 21, 2018, 11:02:36 AM
Hello guys...

I have diversified my portfolio to about 25 different cryptos which were worth about 7000-8000$ just before the bitcoin crash came and I am wondering whats the exact reason behind this, when or will it recover (and so the alt coins I hold, don't have any bitcoin).

Why do almost all alt coins crash because of the bitcoin crash or correction?

My portfolio is worth only 4000$ atm.

Sorry for being an beginning idiot and asking this and thanks for everybody who can explain it to me
Don't you worry about the value of your portfolio right now. Don't panic, all you have to do is monitor the value but don't you ever sell your coins to avoid lose. Your portfolio maybe down but it does not mean you already lose some money. Hold it until everything goes back to normal.

184  Economy / Economics / Re: Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency? on: February 20, 2018, 12:31:36 PM

A few countries and central banks have been talking about “digital currency”, and most of them are carefully ignoring the term “crypto”. Fact is- digital currency is not the same as cryptocurrency. These countries/central banks are recognizing the benefits of the digital currency features of cryptocurrency, but they don’t want any of the decentralized uncertainties that come with blockchain-based currencies.
Will countries or central banks create their own cryptocurrency?

I don't think so that banks or central banks will create their own cryptocurrency. There are news article circulating recently about central banks of some countries that are planning to adapt the blockchain technology but at the same distancing itself to cryptocurrency.
185  Other / Meta / Re: Not merit, demerit is the way to go! on: February 19, 2018, 01:33:05 PM
Hey Guys,

The new merit system is not working properly and I think this can be quite dangerous for the quality of this forum.

Why? Simply because they are quite a lot very brilliant posts in this forum (especially in the local forums) which are not merited at all (not even 1 point). If you then see that they are a lot of free merit / scam threads this really dumps your motivation in creating serious content in this forum - cause its simply unfair.

Now consider there is a newbie who affords lot of time in creating some nice content in order to rank up, not merited at all. What do you think the motivation of this guy is going? Do you think he is gonna try this again?

So why don't we think about an demerit system?

Why don't we demerit for spam, off topic, insults or scam attempts and increase thereby the quality of this forum?

If their would be somehow a punishment for bad quality post this would really motivate people to increase their forum behavior.

I am exited how you think about that.
It could be harder than the Merit system bro. If ever this Demerit System proposal of yours be implemented, who are going to be the police? Who are going to give demerits on someone? That would only create a lot chaos and feuds among us. For me, merit is a pat in the back while demerit would be a spank in the back. So better this way, anyway the merit system is not even a month old for us say that it is not working.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptos be so volatile forever? on: February 17, 2018, 11:05:48 AM
When will we reach the state of more of less stable cryptocurrencies or it is in their nature and will never end?
Volatility is the main characteristic that we can attribute to cryptocurrency. It will always be volatile because of the demand and supply. But that is also a good thing for crypto, it's volatility. Opportunity comes when value of cryptos goes up and down, we just have play with it.
187  Other / Meta / Re: why focus on merits? on: February 17, 2018, 10:19:50 AM
Why some of the beginners always focus on how they will earn merits and always ranting when there is no merits on every single post? Sometimes it's like you are having a meeting and begging approvals to your co-workers and CEO on your common proposal. We should focus on learning about crypto and making some informative posts that is very helpful rather than focus on earning merits. Some of here are just making another version of an actual post, just putting some incredible attachments for us to say this is unique. Maybe you should focus on how really things work in cryptocurrency because this is the real object you must encounter.

Begging for merits while your posts are qualified and ready to be put on the trash, is very annoying. Merit system is very helpful to us 'cause it inspires us and make a quality post but still, copying and recycling some post is a shitty doings.

Agree with you bro that we should not focus on earning merit. This merit thing will just serve as a warning to each and everyone of us that we have to make our post relevant and helpful. There is no such thing as "HQ" because we can't even give criteria to it. For me, as a rookie in this field, i try to ignore that there is a merit system and just continue to help in a way that i can. It may not that big but at least i could help.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers are once again hating themselves on: February 17, 2018, 04:25:04 AM
$10k is broken and with this a lot of messages of people that sold at below $6000 trying to "cut their losses". Mostly because a lot of people was about to go bankrupt as their longs got liquidated. And with this, also came the super bears expecting $1000 a coin again, so they put really aggressive shorts, of course, only to get destroyed by the current recovery.

Lessons to learn for the noobs: Never panic sell, never margin trade, you can FOMO if you are here for the long term (5 to 10 years) since it doesn't matter if you bought at $20k or at $5k as BTC will be worth millions eventually.
Yes, there were a lot of them crying now. The good thing is i am not one of them. Although a newbie, i trust my instinct that it would be good to but at dip and so i did. I have learned a lesson during that dip and one of them is not to panic.
189  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: February 17, 2018, 01:08:33 AM
I have read some posts and some concerns that it is the volatility of Bitcoin that is preventing many people and many businesses to fully adopt Bitcoin. This can be the main factor why big online shopping stores are not yet adding Bitcoin into their payment facilities (though there is now a circulated petition for this but I doubt if it can make a dent).

Some are really saying that if volatility can be managed then we can see Bitcoin going mainstream. I am wondering then: Is volatility something that we should find a way to control and how do you think it can be done?
In my own opinion, we will be having a hard time controlling the volatility of bitcoin because it is decentralized. We have no control on the ownership of it, when to dump it on the market. Maybe if there is a group of whales that can control the dump and pump scheme, maybe there is a chance. But i doubt if it will happen, you know human beings are mostly greedy, but not all though.

191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy now or wait for even lower price? on: February 14, 2018, 07:51:01 AM
I'm trying to figure out a right time to buy some more bitcoin. I'm having trouble deciding.

Would you buy right now (price over 7K USD) or wait to see if you can get it much cheaper?
You know i got the same problem too. I'm having a hard time deciding on when to buy or wait for it to go lower but the question is "Is this the lowest it will get?". My strategy is buy little by little so that if it continue to go lower then i still have the money to buy. Do not buy in a single time, do it little by little.
192  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is useless on: February 13, 2018, 02:58:58 PM
Bitcoin is not useless for me. Many people around the world have already earned millions because of bitcoin. No matter what you say how long the transaction and high fees, many are still a believer of bitcoin. But i respect your point of view.
193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Chinese New Year boost crypto market cap? on: February 13, 2018, 12:27:00 PM
With Chinese New Year coming up on 2/16 what do you think will happen will the market cap get an influx of new money from China or not? I'm thinking we will and hoping it will boost prices for all coins but of course, this is just speculation, what do you think?
I don't think the upcoming Chinese New Year will affect the market cap because as we know Chinese, they are a business oriented people. If they have that bitcoin in hand, mostly of them will hodl and wait for the right time to sell.
194  Economy / Speculation / Re: When is the right time to buy on: February 13, 2018, 07:50:17 AM
Most people buy high, HODL, then sell low.
For me the right time to buy is when there is panic selling like what happened recently. During the bloodbath almost all the altcoins are going low. That is where the opportunity is, when everyone is on fear mode. That is why don't make decisions specially if it involves selling of crypto when you are in panic.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 12, 2018, 01:38:44 PM

The Lakers were indeed picking up their performance and then suddenly they traded most of their players to the Cavaliers in a move that shows that they really didn't have any ambitions in the first place.

Nance Jr and Clarkson are good backup off the bench so I will agree to you.

Since rookie days, Jordan Clarkson has tremendously shows that his performance really blooms every game. He is the best 6th man for me during his rookie days and can be a candidate for this season. The Lakers bench is showing good backup to their starters so I don't know why they destroy their young lineups.

I agree, Jordan Clarkson has been playing tremendously good in the past seasons that I was caught off-guard why the hell the LA management traded both of them? He could really turn LA around with Lonzo as their main point guard. Sadly though they change their tune and traded the him. Well the trade has dosed their ambition for this season already. Maybe they are again rebuilding, but it will take years again before we can see LA at the top.
With the recent trade i think Jordan Clarkson will benefit from this. He is now on a championship caliber team and seeing him play alongside the king, i thought they kinda jell well. This is an opportunity for JC to step up his game come play-off time because LBJ will gonna need him most by that time.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: KYC of bounty hunters on: February 12, 2018, 10:02:07 AM
Bounty programs are asking bounty hunters to do KYC before they are paid for work done . What do you think of this development.
I think this move by the bounty managers to ask for KYC is good because it will discourage those people who have multiple accounts in one bounty campaign. The should also find some more ways of detecting multiple accounts in a campaign not just by KYC.
197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It advisable to quit my present job for bitcoin? on: February 12, 2018, 09:32:31 AM
No, you still need to work bitcoin is still a new technology. We are not sure if it would last but we are hoping. You can work you need to explore your self also, working in bitcoin you will earn a lot of money but there is no assurance.
You are right brother, you still need to work even if you are in bitcoin. Bitcoin may be not new but it is not so old yet. Anything can happen, so you got to have a safety net if bitcoin collapse although the chance of that is slim to none. Do not leave your work.
198  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: February 12, 2018, 08:58:29 AM
I prefer paper money to transact directly because it is easier to use than digital money. perhaps my opinion represents some people who have not understood the technology. Digital money will work but it certainly takes a very long time to completely replace the digital money..
Agree with you mate. Right now when not much of the people are aware of the digital currency it would be so hard to use it. The people are used in using the paper money. Shifting to digital currency may take some time but at least we are going to that direction. In the near future, digital currency will be a common thing and it would be easy to use.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do to get bitcoins? on: February 11, 2018, 11:34:16 AM
If you are looking for an opportunity to get a crypto currency without money investments participate in the bounty social media. If you think you can afford to buy bitcoin using fiat money invest it now and use your savings not your allowance. It is better if you prefer long term investments to get more greater amount of profit.
Yes, i agree. If you want to have your own bitcoin without investing fiat you should participate on bounties. It may take some time because bounty campaigns may last 6-8 weeks and you should to wait at least 2 weeks before you will be given a bounty. The faster way is to buy with your money if you don't want to wait that long.
