Avoid, new precedent trying to be set, the more people the give in, then you'll have to give you info out for every single airdropped/bounty out there.
It's very dangerous for you to trust these non-reputable individuals with your information and for the future of cryptos as a whole, yet no one is discussing this.

You can blame Polymath for this, they don't want to work harder filter to filter puppets, so instead they want your ID.

Edit: There is probably nothing we can do to stop this, because the vast majority of people trying to do airdrops are very likely to hand over their info without a second thought. This has major repercussions, some of the worst repercussions we will see ever in crypto.

The best thing you can do if you're reading this, is to not give in to these new information whores, who are more than likely to flip your IDs on the darkweb for a profit.

I totally agree with you but we as bounty campaigners, do we have the voice to tell them that we do not see this KYC applicable to us? Do we have the right not to oblige if they ask for it? What if they tell us that we will not be payed for our bounty campaigns if we do not compell to this KYC? Surely, i do not want my hard work go to waste if i will not be payed.

Members of the generosity campaign, including those participating in the signature campaign, can not conduct any illegal cash transactions because they do not invest their personal money, thus participating in the ICO campaign. Therefore, it makes no sense to require them to provide identification information or copies of their identity cards. Participants in the signature campaign have the right to perform their work on anonymous basis. In any case, the requirement for additional data must be clearly stated before joining the signature campaign. The demand for such data after the termination of the ICO at the stage of payment of earned tokens can actually be regarded as a form of fraud, since in fact they are already being presented for the purpose of not paying the earned tokens.

I don't like this neither. Luckily, there is not a lot of bunties requesting their IDs from their supporters, but the number is rising.

Bounty programs are asking bounty hunters to do KYC before they are paid for work done . What do you think of this development.
I think this move by the bounty managers to ask for KYC is good because it will discourage those people who have multiple accounts in one bounty campaign. The should also find some more ways of detecting multiple accounts in a campaign not just by KYC.

KYC is for not only to bounty hunters but also to all Ico investors. If you want to buy token from ICO so you should give your KYC. This is the same thing for bounty hunters. And It prevents participation in countries where Ico is prohibited

You're right, KYC is very important so that all the memebers and the investors should totally know by know their identity if they are didicated to the campagin or not. Also, it gives big help to the bounty managers to gain trust to those members of the group since there are many scammers around here in bitcoin community. As time goes by there will be many ICO will ask KYC as their part of the required to be part of their bounty.

To ask for an ID, and sometimes even a certificate of residence, as some blockchain platforms are doing to the bounty hunters to receive their reward, in my opinion is excessive. These documents should be requested only to investors

From the bounty hunter's point of view, it's a waste of time, and it's not very safe for us, and it could lead to the leak of KYC.
For the ICO project, however, providing KYC may circumvent the problems of the ICO law that may follow.

I think KYC should be prohibited in this industry. KYC are form that are trying to know your real and personal information yet in this industry we all need to be anonymous because this is crypto world and by means of KYC our private lives will be exposed. I read some articles that some KYCs have the possibility to use your info for fraud, I hope this will not happen to anyone of us.

Have to agree, you don't mind if you have to do this for banks and the larger exchanges such as Coinbase but to freely hand over your ID and the ID which is being handed over can easily be used to take out loans etc and further activity unknown to the user.

For the sake of some free tokens I don't really think it is worth the risk.

Simply, the developers are afraid that there may be problems with the regulator, therefore, everyone is forced to provide their personal data.

It has to be banned in the industry right now, the process of KYC is very illegal in cryptocurrency because our private lives are being exposed while we are filling up the KYC form, everyone in this industry must be anonymous so. I think one of the biggest disadvantage of filling up a KYC form is that it can be use to use our identity in some ways, hopefully not but identity fraud is very illegal by the law. I hope KYC will be stopped and will be prohibited in the industry right now.

As I've already stated, I don't like at all this KYC for bounty hunters stuff. However, just wait that for reasons of bullshit national security of guess who at some point the KYC will be suddenly mandatory worldwide for owning any wallet of any cryptocurrency, or else..
THEN there will be sobbing threads here...

Ofcaurse - it make's work more hard, because need to be in attention to new rules. But if someone do not passed KYS - other participant, often - receive him reward. So, for attentive - KYC is good

LOL that's already stated by the bank if they are issuing its own cryptocurrency wallet and it will need all of the users to fill KYC and AML verification. KYC verification is to avoid those people from unfriendly countries to invest in the ico. Because IP ban can be avoided easily by them all.

This is a problem indeed, I have submitted my ID to one of the Bounties and it was INS icosystem.

KYC cant be stopped and wont be , because of the restrictions in different countries regarding investing in ICOs, thats why even completely honest projects needs you to submit the forms so they wont get in trouble with authorities by allowing their citizens to participate.

For EU citizens there is good news, new law of EU which will be implemented this year states that one can legally ask for data to be deleted otherwise they could face huge fines . (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2856824.0)
But this does not mean that criminals cant launch shady airdrop and ask you for your ID. I believe that it is better to stay away from not well known airdrops.

The other solution could be to trust only known KYC companies . I do not know how this process works but if known KYC company does the KYC for some airdrop, do they give the data to company that hired them? If no it could be a good solution.

that was hassle for bot parties. bounty hunter does not need KYC because they don't buy coins from ICO.
KYC is only needed because of the SEC that banned ICO. bounty hunters only earn coins from marketing not by buying it.

the pros is, less fake accounts = more stakes = more bounties to be rewarded.

I noticed recently that some campaigns have been asking for KYC. I totally understand their erring on the side of caution; however, I might have an impact on the quality of submissions by bounty hunters when you mainly have non native English speaker promoting project targeted at English speakers.

I don't think the bounty with kyc is worth to join.  Everyone knows that the bounty is not a big money, give your personal information to a bounty is not worthy.

It nearly the same as sell your personal information in a low price.

I will never join a bounty with KYC.

I think it is not appropriate if KYC is applied to bounty hunter, because KYC is basically to know customer / buyer in preventing crime (eg money laundering by buying tokens). while the bounty hunter gets the tokens as rewards.
