61  Economy / Economics / Re: 5904 banks frauds in 3 months in India on: June 25, 2018, 02:45:34 AM
Note: If you like my topics/threads and posts give me "+merits". See on the right side of each post (top right corner) there is "+Merits"

There have been 5904 bank frauds in India in first 3 months of 2018. Source CNBC TV18

The biggest bank fraud is Punjab National Bank (PNB) and billionaire Nirav Modi where PNB was scammed of $2,000,000,000 by Nirav Modi.

How is this for economics ??

I don't think these statistics would shock that many people. The less fortunate people always get taken advantage of the most. Someone is always paying the price for frauds like this and I bet it's not the bank fat cats sitting on their golden thrones.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy altcoin okay? on: June 24, 2018, 11:24:22 PM

Some criteria for choosing my altcoin:
Must be a large market capitalization, high transaction volume, focus on the top coin.
Paying attention to the value of the coin, not the price, cheap is not necessarily good.
Team of talented and experienced developers in the field of blockchain.
Bitcoin prices are dropping as many good altcoin are at the bottom. Do you think this is an opportunity for us?

I think it is probably a good time to start thinking about buying. Don't rush into it. Look into each coin and the factors you mention above. If you don't understand how  the coin works or the roadmap for the coin, do not invest in it. There will always be opportunities in alts coming on everyday.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Losing your life savings on BTC? Hurting everyday? on: June 24, 2018, 10:05:37 PM
People buy lottery ticket all the time, that’s total fine, spending $5 here and there for fun. But if you mortgage your house to buy lottery tickets you are crazy.

Same thing with bitcoin. Spend a few grand for chuckle is fine, chances are you won’t see your money again. Heck I would pick up a few bitcoins too when it drops below $100.

If you spent your life savings buy Bitcoin, get out now while you still have something left! New crypto currencies are coming to replace BTC. Stop torment yourself everyday watching your money goes into red day after day after weeks after months.... you will spend your retirement working at McDonald’s trying to earn it back!

This is all guesswork we really don't know what is going to happen..
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Idea: How to increase bitcoin demand on: June 24, 2018, 11:51:42 AM

Contact e-commerce websites like Amazon, and request that you want to pay with Bitcoin, Ether or any other coin you like.

It can be done by using site's feedback or contact us forms.

This way we can create demand because good e-commerce sites care about their users. And they know that the more payment methods you have the higher the conversion rate (the % of people who buy something) because some users can use only 1 method of payment. For example, some americans can only pay with Paypal while some venezuelans can only pay with Bitcoin, etc. So, if the site supports more payment methods it will convert more orders on average.

To increase the demand for implementing cryptocurrency payments in e-commerce sites we just have to request that using the contact us or feedback forms. The more people give feedback to their favorite online retailers the more people will start using bitcoin as payment method (now that we have segwit).

The more people do this the more demand for Bitcoin there will be.

Thanks to those who do that.

Probably until the coin is stable in terms of volatility, it would be hard for a company to accept it as payment. The risk is too great to hold massive amounts of bitcoins in wallets from thousands of orders and watch the value plummet because of a price movement. It is far easier and cheaper (transaction fees) to accept payment using their current methods, and for the users who can't use those payment methods they will miss out until there is a viable option.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you fulfilled in cryptocurrency? on: June 24, 2018, 11:40:24 AM
Forget about the tokens in your wallet and forget about the number of bitcoins you hold. Are you really fulfilled to be a cryptocurrency geek? I am fulfilled for being  part of this new technology: Blockchain, Bitcoin ,alternative currency, mining , masternode, trading and exchanges. I am proud of the knowledge I have obtained. I am delighted about the numerous tokens I have - both shit coins and profitable coins. I am proud of learning and working through bounties. Truly I am fulfilled, but I need more work to do. What about you?

There is a never ending stream of knowledge to be had with crypto. We can never stop learning about this potentially life changing market. Being fulfilled may only be momentary because there is always something new that we have yet to grasp.
66  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world? on: June 22, 2018, 12:08:45 PM
Everywhere you can find cryptocurrency topic especially ICO projects are doing well on the marketing through social media like facebook, twitter, reddit, linked, youtube and etc. Celebrities, influential individuals and high ranking government officials are talking about cryptocurrency and that is why i think cryptocurrency is a trending topic all over the world. Do you agree with me? Even haters help cryptocurrency to be known all over the world so let just leave the haters then.

The news usually comes in waves, a few months of nothing mentioned, and then bam.. We will see it a bit in the mainstream media and then it will die off for a while. I have noticed recently the local news does a bitcoin price in the daily market recap along with currency prices etc...
67  Economy / Economics / Re: Anatomy of the Tokens Market: Types of Tokens, by Sandris Murins on: June 22, 2018, 12:03:56 PM
The token market with ICO's is lucrative. You should have a look at the token sales that are currently underway with Nauticus or BAANX.

Have a look on their websites and at their deals because they're a good investment.

Those two ICOs look interesting. I especially like something I can understand. A lot of ICOs are hard to gauage what they are actually doing with the fund raising.

68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Musician Akon is Launching a new Cryptocurrency. on: June 22, 2018, 03:38:32 AM
Senegal-born star Akon launching a new cryptocurrency called Akoin that will be available for sale in two weeks with hopes it will help further help the continent. Akon said in the interview thatr "I think that blockchain and crypto could be the savior for Africa in many ways because it brings the power back to the people and brings the security back into the currency system and also allows the people to utilize it in ways where they can advance themselves and not allow government to do those things that are keeping them down"

source: https://pagesix.com/2018/06/19/akon-set-to-launch-cryptocurrency-called-akoin/

With the history of African currencies getting devalued by external manipulators, I can understand the drive behind this one, but will there be a major technology gap for those who are less fortunate to actually use this coin?
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency in five years! on: June 22, 2018, 03:29:59 AM
Legendary investor Tim Draper is confident that in five years all will use crypto currency. According to Draper, the technological shift that we can observe now will be more significant than the transition from the Stone Age to the Bronze Age. Answering the question about how he sees the current situation in comparison with the period when he invested in the technologies of web 1.0 and 2.0, he replied that web technologies and transformed the concept of information, while blocking has the potential to transform almost all industries, including government services.

5 years could be a relatively reasonable time frame. The transformation to how we use and borrow money in just the last 5 years has changed significantly. P2P lending is now mainstream, with P2P mortgages gaining traction. Tap and go with visa cards, moving away from cash money and deeper into the digital everything.

The obsession with instant gratification, will drive the self serving instant transaction and verification methods that blockchain can provide, and this is just the start of it.
70  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How do you keep your mnemonic phrases? on: June 21, 2018, 10:07:06 AM
OK, this would sound noobish but I'm interested to know how other people keep the mnemonic phrase generated by the wallet. I do have the wallets secured with a pw and backed up (still not enough to warrant a hardware wallet) but I also have the passphrases handwritten in paper (someone said be wary of printers) and stashed somewhere but I'm wondering if there's a better way to keep them.

I don't know any cryptography but I'm thinking of shuffling the words rather than writing them down in order. Like a 12x12 grid where I'd spread them out in certain patterns and then finished with filler words. Since it's no longer as straight-forward should anyone get their hands on it, I think it would finally be safer to keep digital copies of it. Any suggestions?

Good old paper. 3 copies, handwritten and cross checked. 3 seperate locations off site.

71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how often do you check BTC price and how to cope with stress? on: June 21, 2018, 09:49:19 AM
how often do you check BTC price and how to cope with stress associated with this?  I am checking it every few hours and it drives me crazy and makes me anxious. Is there anybody in a similar situation and how do you cope with this?

PS: I was trying to do this once a month, but I think, I missed the beginning of the bear market in January this year because of this.

Thanks,
Mike

Usually after buying it, I will set alerts to inform me via sms if there are any major movements, otherwise I will try to not look for one month.
Sometimes big news happens regarding bitcoin and I will check the price out to ensure everything is ok.
72  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Have you ever exchanged BTC face to face? on: June 21, 2018, 09:45:12 AM
I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

Yes I have used a well known platform to do it, holds the money in escrow until you receive the bitcoin. Never had any problems. It feels a bit weird the first time though..

73  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Unusual offer received for "e-money.eu" domain on Sedo. on: June 21, 2018, 09:40:58 AM
Hello everyone,

I've just received an offer for "e-money.eu" domain on Sedo domain marketplace. First bid matched my asking price (domain is listed as "Make offer" not "Buy now", so I'm not obligated to sell domain), which is a little bit odd, because bidders tend to offer lower price first.

I'm wondering what is the reason:
   - buyer is in hurry
   - maybe something happened in EU regarding e-money / digital currencies recently? I mean some new business projects, law regulations etc. which might increase value of this kind of .eu domain. The only new thing I aware of is new AML regulations in EU (AMLD4 and AMLD5), but is rather not much related to term "e-money".

One of users on domaining forum gave me a link to article about acquiring "European E-Money license" (witch is nothing new) in EU which will allow companies to issue IBAN accounts and convert fiat to crypto. In combination with current crypto hype it might explain behaviour of bidder ie. he is in hurry because price is relatively low for current domain potential use cases (for example business advisory in acquiring "European E-Money license").

What do you think, do you have any other ideas? I will be grateful for any info or suggestions which might help me in further negotiation with current bidder on Sedo.

Buy offers are also welcome Wink

Regards

They say in Real Estate, don't ignore your first bidder, because it could be your last. It probably applies here.
74  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MARGIN - Yes or NO on: June 21, 2018, 05:29:20 AM

75  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency wallets: Can they be hacked?? on: June 21, 2018, 02:22:19 AM
I am very interested to know if cryptocurrency wallets like Bitcoin Core, NEON, Electrum can ever be hacked ?

There are no doubt full time hackers who think about new ways to exploit wallets every waking moment. For this reason we need to be super careful and take all recmmoneded measures and triple check everything.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: What kind of price movement do you want for Bitcoin? on: June 21, 2018, 02:02:05 AM
Last year was one of my best trading years in Bitcoin and it was not because of the huge spike in the price towards the end of the year.

The price was steadily going upwards in small increments and I could buy low and sell high, almost on a weekly basis. Then something happened and the price went crazy and reached a ATH of +/- $19000.

I enjoyed the steady growth, because I could make small weekly profits. Now everything is upside down and with the same strategy I would be losing money on a weekly basis.  Angry

I was wondering what price movement would suit your investment strategy in Bitcoin the best?

I understand the economy and that something that was inflated like that, would have to go through a correction phase, but when will things go back to normal, so that we can start making small profits again?

Slow and steady rise. Bitcoin should be the most stable in terms of volatility, leave the volatility to the altcoins. Solid growth between 10 to 13 k by Christmas. Hopefully it will not go crazy again and have a massive correction again to the extent of last year.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Protectionism and Cryptocurrency: how do protectionist policies influence crypto on: June 21, 2018, 01:48:59 AM
lately, we have witnessed a flurry of measures by some of the leading countries in the world to protect their domestic markets. Tariffs have been imposed, retaliatory measures taken on a wide range of goods and services. While the cryptocurrency market has seemed unaffected till now, one cannot help but wonder if governments will be looking to regulate this aspect of trade more closely. what effects will such measures have on the crypto market.

Please let me know what you think

I think that if tougher measures come down on crypto people will just find another way to exploit this, it's the nature of crypto to be the bleeding edge of tech. The governments will always be playing catchup.

Negative sentiment by large economies may affect the market, but it will inevitably come back, nothing is stopping crypto..
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For the love of... don't keep your coins on exchanges on: June 21, 2018, 12:24:44 AM
Again we saw an exchange got hacked. There would be nothing to hack there if people didn't keep their coins on exchanges! For the love of Dog (lol), don't keep your coins on exchanges, start practicing safety, this is your investment we are talking about!

I think it comes down to a combination of laziness and people trusting the exchange too much, maybe wowed by its slick interface.

Sometimes it takes a lot of time to get all your coins out and into seperate wallets, so it's just easier to leave them in there, thinking it will not happen to that exchange.

79  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What would you change about crypto Exchanges? on: June 20, 2018, 11:22:22 AM
Hi everyone!

What do you not like about crypto exchanges? What do you think exchanges could do better?

Curious as to what you guys think!

I think more focus on customer service. Put more of those trading fees back into people who can answer support tickets quicker.
It's really frustrating when your money is held for days without any response.
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there any fast and easy money here in cryptocurrency? on: June 20, 2018, 11:00:19 AM
I was just so curios since i am new also with cryptocurrency and i wonder as i read too many threads about getting good rewards from bounty campaigns like signature campaigns that receive BTC weekly or monthly and as i checked bitcoin market price today relatively so expensive. Many are great these are with the accordance basing on what i have read. Well maybe those people are fraud as i had began to join this system i dont feel there is great in it like getting a good reward instead i feel that this is just like a work that you need to perform in order for you to gain. Is there any fast and easy money here in cryptocurrency?

Fast and easy = Panic Sell and Panic Buy.. Take your time to watch the market, participate in the community and get a good feeling of what is going on in cryptoland.
