Because the price is too damn high. We trade IOUs on all exchanges, not real BTC. You can easily fake trades and manipulate the price as exchange operator. GOX probably did that too (or they were too stupid for that).
Lot's of people don't pull the btc/money from exchanges, so the whole fake system works as long as there is a bank run. In case of a bank run, the same shit like GOX happens again -> delayed withdrawals, hope for more fiat and coins inflow
Localbitcoins and other direct selling marketplaces are way better, but worse for speculating.

I've only been around since 5 December and I already feel like I've been through the wars.
After a tough war there is usually a long, prosperous peace. choo choo CCMF. We will go lower, very low! Do you really believe that BTC-e and Stamp can cover all BTC withdrawals? They don't have enough coins. Same shit like GOX. The whole centralized exchanges are a BIG problem for bitcoin.

Dude, we went from $400 to ~$566 now %41 up. This is officially a bull market. I'm not saying we can't go down from here, but there is twice as much fiat defending the bottom now as there was when we hit it the first time. Check the order books.
Best time to get out of bitcoin with a heafty profit.

He also supports gun control, the unilateral power for either the President or Attorney General to issue a drone strike on an American citizen, on American soil, who "may be involved in a terrorist plot." I think your days in office are numbered and we all hope you trip down the stairs once that door hits you on the way out.

China is not buying., not with new money. Every time i read here something here, i have the feeling that 98% of bitcoin holders are dellusional kids or just plain stupid.
Sites like satoshidice and fiatleaks are very popular. Don't expect bitcoin to grow based on these guys.
BTW: Have fun with legal action against you. Lot of silk road user will get goxxed again, by the us legal system. Get rid of all the drugies. Good for bitcoin.

Do you know the guys which are operating BTC-e ? GOX was very bad, but BTC-e is on the same level.
Bitstamp is one step above, but they lost a few % of their BTC stash because of the malability "bug".
I'm still optimistic for btc, but I will buy more coins soon. They will get a lot cheaper. Selling is not an option.

karma is a bitch! This sucker lost his 3.5 goxbtc Unwilling to pay his debt, no he has nothing. Poor bastard.

Before we see 5000$, we will see double digits again (not GOX). BTC-e will default in less than 365 days.

|

FiatLeak =! BTC bought with fiat
It's just trading volume. No fees -> big numbers without new fiat

last call for cheap coins
Still too expensive. For what? True. Bitcoin is obsolete. Just sell all and move to quark. Bitcoin is worth approx 100-150$ measures on growth of # of transactions (adoption). It will go much lower. Sell now and double or even tripple your coins.
|
|
|
I'm calling 333 low for tonight
We will see double digits in less than 1 week. Gox arbitrage is working for a few selected customers. If you have 1000$ coins, sell now or hold forever.

BULLISH AS FUCK ! BITCOIN GETTING STRONGER THE LOWER IT GOES!
Early adopters getting out of bitcoin. Latecomers are buying like shit. Shifting bitcoin to bagholders. Love it

There is downward pressure until the other markets have decoupled. For the most part, this has already happened.
When Gox disappears finally, price will go back up. There will be no mass panic as everyone has long expected it to happen. We will all be better off without the Gox drama queen.
Next vicitim will be shady btc-e.com drama queen. Just don't hold your btc's there or only the part you are willing to lose.

If this continues we'll be looking at Bitcoin a few months from now as 1 big failed experiment that got ruined by Mark, criminals, inside trading and manipulation. One big ponzi scheme. The result of non regulation i guess. I wouldn't advise any of my friends anymore to invest in this clusterfuck. The stuff that's being pulled here makes the real world big bankers and traders look like honest, nice people.
Inside-Trading destroys every market. Bitcoin needs regulation. A lot of it! Otherwise we will continue with a handful exchanges manipulation the price like hell. Every exchange needs an external audit who observers all trades.

Looking to make 0.5 BTC bets: My take - Mt Gox will restore and withdrawls before Tuesday the 18th 12 PM Eastern.
Your take - Mt Gox does not restore withdrawals before Tuesday the 18th 12PM.
I have 3.5 BTC ready to go.
PM any questions
0.5 BTC bet accepted. Mt. Gox won't enable all withdrawals till feb 18 2014. Shake Accepted He has my btc address. He told me, that he can't send btc, only gox btc. I agreed. Now he states that he didn't accept the bet... and I did never send btc to an escrow party. We never talked about escrow -> because it's only 0.5btc bet.

.5 btc is probably more than 20% of what he owns. It's probably a huge deal to him. Otherwise he'd pay up. He tried to act all big and shit and it didn't work out.
True. I believe he has 4 GOX btc. He should only bet, what he is able to lose -> 0.01 btc and not half a bitcoin
