Yes indeed, and this is not even the volume in USD.
You can't count bot volume as market volume.
There is no difference. It doesn't matter whether a trader's organism is based on carbon or silicon. He/it is still a trader and his/its liquidity is liquidity and his/its trading volume is trading volume.

It's trading volume, but you can't extract any usefull informations about the market.
If the volume goes up because of 0% fee, this is no bullish/bearish sign.

These bots and 0% exchanges don't help to see any market trends. You can't see if there are more people buying into bitcoin or leaving the market, because the biggest volume is from bots.

Same with huobi. That is no real volume. With low or zero fees there is allways I high volume, even if there are only 2 bots trading with 0.01 btc.

Well this is the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time.

He believes in jesus. What do you expect?

If the Hodlers keep running things so majestically, there's only one direction this baby can go.

No offense, but this forum has zero impact on the market.
Hodlers with 0.5, 1, 10 even 100 coins don't change anything.

The guys with 10k+ coins will decide where we are heading.
And anybody should just wait to buy more coins till jan 31. With huobi gone, who knows what's going on. They are the market leader.

449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 10, 2014, 01:23:36 PM
Thats just so so so so so so so so much stupid...

"He has to trust" another entity... OMG! How many people had problems with paypasl or visa buying some stupid clothes... and now... how many people had real problem just obtaining bitcoin...? The pros are heavily on the side of paypal and mastercard here...

The more i am here on this forum, the more i think a lot of bitcoin people are just out-of-reality :-(.

I have to agree with you. Most bitcoin users here are out-of-reality. They live in their world.  Grin
They should leave their basement more often and talk to people outside of the tech world.

The simple question is:
Why use bitcoin at the moment as payment method?
Can someone please list a few real pros compared to paypal, master/visa or bank transfer?

Bitcoin as store of wealth or speculation asset is something completly different.
450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 09, 2014, 11:10:36 PM
Yeah, why use Paypal? That question is legit.
Visa is something different -> it's faster than bank transfer and you can buy with "credit" -> pay later

Bitcoin doesn't offer any advantage over the existing solutions (bank transfer, visa, paypal) in case of buying clothes, ...
451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 09, 2014, 10:49:17 PM
Well, if both users use coinbase..

Bank -> Coinbase (user) -> Coinbase (merchant) -> Bank

if user already holds bitcoin

Bitcoin -> Coinbase -> Bank

And now explain the average joe why he should pay for clothes with bitcoin?
He could just go the "normal" way with a simple bank transfer. No risks involved.
With Coinbase he has to trust another entity. It's just more risks without ANY advantages for this specific task.
452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 09, 2014, 09:06:04 PM
I believe in bitcoin and space travel  Grin
BUT! I don't believe that we need these bitcoin fiat processors. They will replace the banks, but they do exactly the same.

With Bitpay we have even more middleman than in the fiat system.

Bank -> Exchange -> Bitcoin -> Bitpay -> Exchange -> Bank (Bitpay) -> Bank (Merchant)
453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 09, 2014, 08:56:17 PM

make sure you support them  Smiley

Why?
The use Bitpay... They don't handle Bitcoin themself.

Sorry, but this is not worth mentioning. Everyone can accept bitcoin processed to fiat.
454  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 07:22:50 PM
CHOOOOO-CHOOOOO: OVERSTOCK WENT LIVE !

That is not bullish. Overstock has nothing to do with bitcoin.
They simply use bitpay and accept fiat  Wink

Bitpay sells the coins asap -» Selling pressure
455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2014, 10:09:21 AM
Not only this, everyone could buy one simple usb miner and join for example p2p network. That would work too.

USB Miner without a ROI?
Only the seller profits  Wink
456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global economy forecasts say that 2014 will be great. Is this good or bad for BT on: January 07, 2014, 10:40:02 PM
So almost all global economy forecasts that I've read are very optimistic about global economy in 2014. Is this good or bad for BTC? I have this impression that BTC attracts more people when there are risks of financial trouble around the world.

My 2 cents? Bitcoin is going to boom. Absolutely. The fear of it not being accepted is gone now in many countries. This was the biggest psychological barrier.

Have you ever talked to non tech people?
90 don't see any advantage. 10% think it's a scam.

Actually there is really no advantage for the average joe. Transfer large amounts abroad very fast, is limited by 2 transactions from fiat to bitcoin and reverse. A simple online bank transfer is faster and cheaper.

Most people here are tech nerds (me too). But we are not the majority.
457  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 08:09:33 PM
How likely is the scenario where in despite of "bad news" the market gets stubborn and bottoms higher than expected, therefore triggering more bullish movements?

Unlikely. But there are a few bots which push the price... The GOX bot was one example  Grin
Some big owner don't want the price to fall. But even they have a price.
458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 06:58:03 PM
I'm allready betting. I'm buying coins. Don't care if the price falls another 100-300$. Buying when the price goes down is so easy. Just place a few bids all the way down.
Parting with coins is harder.
459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 06:54:58 PM
We will be back above 1000 by end of day

Where are the bulls with bye bye tripple digits?  Grin
Under 800 @stamp within 24 hours. Then panic selling kicks in.
460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 04:37:39 PM

What a crash failsafe. Just shut down the exchange.
Probably they hired some GOX IT "specialists"
