681  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-06] Bitcoin in need of restructuring, say Cornell researchers on: April 05, 2016, 12:32:55 PM
Oh look, sheltered academia thinks it knows what we "need". How amusing. Maybe they can get their resources together and comment on "current" events like Mark Karpeles stealing from everyone. Nevermind, its all just fishing for funding so they can stay safe and cozy in their departments, researching bug farts and important issues of the day.
682  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-01] Overstock Invests $4 Million in Barbados Bitcoin Startup on: April 05, 2016, 12:30:00 PM
Easy there, drama queen.

I just pointed out the rules. You don't want to follow? Fine, look like a fool. No skin off my nose.
683  Bitcoin / Press / Re: April 1, 2016 Overstock Invests $4 Million in Barbados Bitcoin Startup on: April 04, 2016, 05:15:51 PM
Appreciate the attempt, but the format is:

POST FORMAT: YYYY-MM-DD SITE - HEADLINE

From the sticky thread at the top of the section. Just pointing it out.

Thanks...
dude ... the format is correct. sorry if you cant understand it , as it is an international format..
& i'm really happy you apreciate my efforts Wink

kind regards.

Feel free to disregard the format specified in the forum, it only makes you look like a fool.

The format for the NEWS SECTION is NOT international, its YEAR-MONTH-DAY - HEADLINE. International format is day-month-year, which this forum doesn't use.

Enjoy.
684  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-04] The Bitcoin Halving Doomsday Scenario on: April 03, 2016, 04:46:53 PM
First Bitcoin was a "ponzi", then it was declared "dead" a few times, then it was the block size "issue", and now its some retards hyperventilating about block reward halving.

Do these idiots just come up with any old theory to freak out about? Because this bullshit is wearing thin. There is no DEATH SPIRAL to be had out of the halving, just like the LAST HALVING. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with these people.

687  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-28] US blockchain startup claims 1 mln transactions per second on: March 28, 2016, 04:22:29 PM
Quote
Domus Tower developers insist they can reach the ultra-high transaction speed with the help of “permission, trusted-node architecture with eventual consistency,” in other words, centralised blockchain.

Good luck with that. Especially after your "trusted-node" centralized architecture gets hacked and every transaction is at the whim of whoever gained control of your system. Just another bit of puffery from crazy-startup-land.

@TraderTimm

Hey Tim, do you a have a dog in this fight against ETH?

Could you please rather argue with the following assessment on DumbIt instead of spreading FUDs?

https://www.DumbIt.com/r/ethtrader/comments/4af4ni/ethereums_advantages_for_bitcoin_highlight_how/

Lets see, Rootstock, vapor, vapor, vapor, sidechains, vapor, vapor, PR-News style posturing... oh yes, it has it all.

Until sidechains are implemented on Bitcoin, all of these claims are .. vapor.. The laughable idea that you can have non-partial escrow partners in lieu of algorithmic enforced escrow is ... idiotic. But please, don't take my word for it, put all of your money into Ethereum, then go to your favorite bank and ask for a line of credit so you can lever-up and push as much money as you can to this narrowly defined use-case that still is looking for a "killer app".

I'll just watch price fall, thanks, which it has today to the tune of -8% and change.

691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2015-10-13] Rootstock Is Coming, Are Ethereum’s Days Numbered? on: March 23, 2016, 02:49:36 PM
ETH/USD is now rounding out the right "shoulder" of a large head-and-shoulders formation that has an implied neckline decline to 6.00 (Kraken). Not looking good for the recent pump, in my opinion. But hey, if people want to shove money at something that has no real use-case, go right ahead.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2015-10-13] Rootstock Is Coming, Are Ethereum’s Days Numbered? on: March 20, 2016, 02:42:01 PM
Ethereum's use-case has always been on shaky ground, what with open-source alternatives for computing and established commercial services. Quite frankly, nobody needs what Ethereum is selling, which is probably why its reached its peak and is down nearly 20%. (ETH/USD, Kraken)

Based on where it is now, I fully expect the pump-and-dump bubble to deflate to 6.00, and then sink lower in a general cycle of despair and deflated dreams as reality takes hold. Everyone, and that includes every alt that has been created since Bitcoin came on to the scene, has been trying to recreate that "lightning strikes" moment with their own brainchild. The problem is, besides the network effect, is most ideas out there are piss-poor in implementation and conception.

But that sure doesn't stop the "true believers" who think they can get rich off of ETH, does it. It isn't about computing resources to them, no, its an imaginary unicorn investment that they hope will be crapping rainbows over everything "really soon" (TM). Maybe in "two weeks"? LOL.
693  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-18] Decentral And Ethereum Canada Announce Major Blockchain Event on: March 19, 2016, 02:09:58 PM
Another PR-Newswire event stuck in our News Section.

Funny how the ethereum stories crop up after a disasterous fall from their peak, almost as if there's some kind of diversion going on....

Not sure what hidden agenda you might be pushing but this a blockchain piece, not Ethereum oriented Smiley Mentioning organizers isn't forbidden as far as I'm aware

No, please post whatever PR-Newswire-esque pieces you want, I find it hilarious that its being passed off as "news". I read the "article", its an announcement of a tradeshow (WOW INNOVATIVE) that is partnering with some ETH has-been so they can pump whatever. Yeah, I really needed to know about this. So awesome.

Meanwhile, ETH plummets, so I'm still smiling Smiley

695  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-16] Ethereum-based Ownage Will Change Digital Ownership Forever on: March 17, 2016, 12:15:18 PM
And with ETH plunging -18% recently, I'm sure they'll be reconsidering anchoring their boat to a sinking pier...

Or this will spur another spamming campaign from the desperate, trying to float the value again based on vapors.
696  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-15]Bitcoin 3.0 Tech BitShares Surges As OpenLedger on: March 16, 2016, 02:05:48 PM
Press release, "Bitcoin 3.0" bullshit buzzwords. Yeah, this is "news" all right.

When did this section turn into PR NewsWire? There's a service for that, and this kind of crap belongs there.
697  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-14] Growing USD Trading Volume For Ethereum On Bitfinex on: March 15, 2016, 01:47:07 PM
Want to know the future of Ethereum?

Take a look at the Year-to-Date chart of Litecoin.

You're welcome.
698  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-14] BitShares Is A Viable Bitcoin 3.0 Candidate on: March 15, 2016, 01:45:38 PM
Another throw-away article from "TheMerkle".

Bitcoin 3.0? Says who? You guys? And Ethereum is Bitcoin 2.0 to you guys too? Hey, lets just add version numbers to every alt we come across, its a fun game!

Makes no sense, and there's no substantial evidence presented as to why this would be the case. Sure, the buzzwords are all there, "smart contract", "digital notary", etc... but it all adds up to post-Bitcoin crypto bullshit that we've heard from many other pitchmen about their products.

Want to know how to impress me? Surpass bitcoin in per-unit-price and in per-coin marketcap -- note I said PER coin marketcap, because with other alts that have BILLIONS of coins in their offerings versus Bitcoin's 21 million (which is why the hyperventilation about ETH's market-cap is idiotic), that isn't a fair metric to use.

Anyway, I'm sure it will go the way of Litecoin, which was "Bitcoin 2.0" before anyone even thought of it -- and it still languishes as a second-rate (or even futher down now) in the rankings.
699  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-03-13] Audio: James D'Angelo Interview on MIT Bitcoin Expo on: March 14, 2016, 01:51:55 PM
I don't know what is going on with Mr. D'Angelo, but I don't fucking like it.

This guy has put out informative videos in the past, and seemed to be on "our side", but lately I'm getting a feel here that he's being influenced somehow. Namely, the push from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake, which ironically is the next kettle-banging spamming effort from our confused friends over at r/btc.

Proof of Work hasn't even been allowed to show its technical chops while scaling, and yet there are people saying we should throw it all out and use something else. I'm very wary of this push, namely because Proof-of-Stake has certain properties that mimics the same failed fiat system being used in the world today (those with the biggest piles of cash make the rules and hold the power). And there is no evidence that a PoS chain would scale better than PoW.

These movements to divide-and-conquer the Bitcoin community leave a bad taste in my mouth, and I think this next issue was simply selected because we've managed to navigate the whole blocksize problem without self-destructing. It smacks of some kind of counter-intelligence or psychologically-based propaganda, and I don't fucking like it.

Watch out about arguments over PoS and PoW, there's a hidden agenda being promoted here....
