Just in time to witness the second leg of the massive 40% decline in ETH/USD value. Currently slipping below 8 bucks, on the way to 7 and below...

They'd better hurry, its slipping below 8 on its way back down to 7 and below...
663  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-21] Audio: Andreas Antonopolous -Theymos is hurting bitcoin- on: April 22, 2016, 02:00:32 PM
Satoshi help us, there are still XT-Heads that think Hearn's nightmare was the "right way".

Theymos isn't doing shit to hurt Bitcoin, there are other forums, end of story. This propensity to stir up drama over the monumental failure of XT is really fucking stupid. You lost, move on.
664  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-20]Lots Of Hype But Since Jan 01 Bitcoin Only Raises $1.64 on: April 21, 2016, 02:28:33 PM
Everyone is entitled to their opinion I have got good reviews from my writing as well.
Don't mind bad ones thanks!

"Good reviews"? From where, ADHD Quarterly? Dyslexia Digest? Rambling Sentence Sentinel?

You've got to be kidding...
665  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-19] Shapeshift Rebuilds After Losing $230,000, Promised to Be Back on: April 21, 2016, 02:25:25 PM
Yeah, lets trust someone who can lose 230K. Is Erik channeling Mark Karpeles or something? Could he be any more incompetent?

I'm not sure about the superficial explanation for this particular story. Why disclose the hack at all, when customer funds cannot be stolen through the platform anyway? It's not impossible that this is some kind of tax avoidance on Shapeshifter profits, which wouldn't be out of character for Voorhees, considering the (also) slightly strange circumstances surrounding the sale of Satoshi Dice. It'd be cool if that were so; tax avoidance when you're already based in Panama is a bit of a winning move IMO

There's a rumbling theory knocking around that the recent crackdown on Panama as a tax haven, in light of the "Panama Papers", is going to equal the scope and intensity of Switzerland when its all said and done. He better have all of his ducks in a row, because this "hack" could've been the first shot in a wave of unearthing who exactly is channeling funds to various parties. Funny how he finds himself yet again in the center of potentially dubious behavior. He must have the Mark Karpeles school of management certificate.

Rambling blog post on price action.

I want my five minutes back for wasting time reading it.

Shitty comment from a judgey cryptocurrency reader  I want my 10 seconds back for reading lol!

I don't know what rock you just crawled out from under, newbie. If you think that spattering of ASCII is worth a post on a blog anywhere, then you need your head examined. Hey, lets pull an AWESOME quote from the "article" shall we?

Quote
I was in on some chats with users of Bitcoin last year and people were wondering if Bitcoin would go to $50 and had most had no hopes that Bitcoin would reach $300 again much less $400.

This bit of verbal diarrhea is representative of the entire "post". Most normal people, those that know how to write without sounding like they're jonesing for their next hit of Ritalin, would have phrased the above like this:

"I've been chatting with many Bitcoin users since last year, and some were thinking Bitcoin would trade to $50. Most had given up hope that Bitcoin would reach $300, or for that matter, even $400."

I'd love to rewrite the entire "article" so it doesn't hurt my brain from its foaming-at-the-mouth-hyperactivity writing style, but I won't. There's nothing in there really worth reading, just some knob "wondering" about price and has fuckall to prove his point with.

No wonder people think e-journalism is a fucking joke.

668  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-20]Ethereum and Gold, a Great Combo That Works Like a Charm on: April 20, 2016, 03:01:48 PM
Ethereum has NOT being "performing well" in the past few months.

Currently at 8 bucks and change, just off of their soul-crunching lows. From their highs in March, that represents a -42.5% change. But lucky for us there are people willing to push the ETH pump bandwagon, no matter what price is doing.

"Don't worry guys, I'm sure this isn't a dead-cat bounce into irrelevance, Ethereum is performing just FINE!!"

Yeah, sure it is...

670  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-19] Cryptocurrency Exchange ShapeShift Lost $230k In Data Breach on: April 19, 2016, 03:45:06 PM
It was an ex-employee that gave away the keys to the firm, so to speak. Maybe Erik needs to review his hiring/firing policies to ensure a disgruntled employee doesn't decide to strike back at him after being let go. But naturally, everyone is lauding him over being so "transparent" about Shapeshift's incompetence.
671  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-19]Ethgigs Welcomes Freelancers Looking To Get Paid In Ethereum on: April 19, 2016, 03:43:25 PM
Meanwhile, ETH/USD is still in the middle of its "dead cat bounce" from the lows of 7, to be sure of visiting them later on in a week or two. Doubt anyone is clamoring to get paid in a depreciating asset.
672  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-17]Ethereum Is Making Waves Through Education and Internet of Things on: April 18, 2016, 01:01:42 PM
And the perpetual hopium continues. Its also making "waves" by going back down, hovering about a buck and change off of its recent soul-crushing lows.

I'm sure we'll get Ethereum stories every time it goes up .50 cents, because the hype never dies.
673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-04-14] Ehereum Powered Rebate System for Every Day Purchases with Bitcoin on: April 15, 2016, 06:40:28 PM
Its a "problem" that has been solved by many others without using a "tokenized" approach. There are plenty of BTC-to-Debit solutions, credit cards, you name it. Just because you have something you perceive as "novel" doesn't automatically make it so. So kindly try to restrain yourself from the needless PR you are spewing. You aren't a special snowflake saving the world.
674  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-13]Expert: Bitcoin will Never become a Reserve Currency on: April 14, 2016, 04:09:32 PM
Bitcoin won't become a reserve currency.

Bitcoin will OUTLAST reserve currencies.

Its like the old joke, two guys see a bear in the woods. One guy drops down and changes into sneakers. "Why are you doing that?"
"All I have to do is run faster than you."
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-04-14] Ehereum Powered Rebate System for Every Day Purchases with Bitcoin on: April 14, 2016, 04:05:03 PM
Looks like yet-another-token-system trying to provide a "solution" to something that isn't even a problem. But, buzzwords and "decentralized", maaaaaan.
676  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-13] 2 Brooklyn Neighbors Just Traded Solar Energy via Ethereum on: April 13, 2016, 03:41:59 PM
In other earth-shattering news, two people used Doge to compliment each others hats.

ETH/USD hovering above a low of 7, which is over 50% from its high. But I'm sure that's just all coincidence and sunflares.
677  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-12] Cryptsy’s Paul Vernon Started An Exchange In China on: April 12, 2016, 04:59:32 PM
Instead of empty keyboard-warrior threats, it would be more productive to get together and not support his schemes. Get some chinese users to create local translations of what this guy has done, and why people shouldn't trust his latest business venture. But there I go, getting all logical and all...
678  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-11] ShapeShift Decides to Rebuild Service Following Cyber-Attack on: April 11, 2016, 04:04:02 PM
I find it interesting that following the "Panama Papers" leak, detailing panama as a haven for creating shell companies for tax evasion, that you have a panamanian based CEO's company getting hacked - which just happens to deal with crypto-currencies. Makes you wonder if the noose is tightening on certain dealings regarding finances, regardless of where the servers are physically located.
679  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-06] Bitcoin in need of restructuring, say Cornell researchers on: April 07, 2016, 05:59:42 PM
I don't know how to say this delicately, but, um, Dr. Juels is arguably the inventor of Proof of Work and is VERY well qualified to comment on crypto issues.

"The term "Proof of Work" or POW was first coined and formalized in a 1999 paper by Markus Jakobsson and Ari Juels."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof-of-work_system

His present agenda is a separate issue (I don't know what it is), but he is no amateur observer when it comes to BTC.

But as you said in another prior post here, he could have an agenda that clouds his "recommendation". Even if he knows crypto backwards and forwards, being an authority on a subject doesn't mean you have some unique gift to predict future evolution of the Bitcoin ecosystem. We have plenty of "experts" that have declared Bitcoin "dead" a few times, too. I'm not exactly holding my breath for what this guy has to say.

I'm wary of self-appointed experts in general, especially this late in the game. Where were they when the whole enterprise was just getting started? Too deep into their own pet projects to contribute? The timing seems a bit suspicious to me.
680  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-Craig Steven Wright may out himself as Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 07, 2016, 05:55:16 PM
Clickbait bullshit article, as usual.

I'll believe it when I see two things - a signed message from one of the oldest addresses known, and a move of 100 BTC from said address to another that has a signed message as well. But we know the odds of that are nearly zero, don't we.
