So as you can see, there is a notification at Kraken main site.

The service is under heavy load and performance is degraded. Upgrades coming soon. Read more.
https://www.kraken.com/

Kraken is now so down, that even trying to click and read that note is difficult.

Now when there is no xmr deposit addresses on my Kraken account, do you think they will claim that I have sent the xmr to an address which is not valid? Well that is not anyway true, I have been very careful about this issue, and checked that the deposit address is not even expiring, that it is valid for sure. Like it has. I have even the screenshot of it.

I recommend now everybody to be very careful with Kraken. I want my monero back.

The amount of xmr is not much in compared to my total xmr so I do not has to go too wild, but anyway it is a quite a lot in fiat, and will be even more in future. So this not really a funny situation.

This is going even more weird. Now to Monero deposit addresses vanished from Kraken. There has been nothing "expiring" status at these addresses, like there should be for many days before an address vanishes. The addresses just were gone. Before I found out that the addresses were gone there was some text someting like "Tier 3 is not eneough for these funds". But now the addresses are just gone.

Luckily I took a screenshot where is current time and valid address, so I can proof that I have sent the xmr to address wich have been valid at the time of transaction.

But this is truly getting me nervous.

They still have not answered anything.

This is the message from Kraken to its customers 28.12.2017

Quote
This message is regarding the schedule for fiat deposit and withdrawal processing around the New Year’s holiday.

Please note that for clients who use SMBC to fund their accounts, fiat deposits and withdrawals to and from your Kraken account will be impacted by the the New Year’s holiday as described below. We recommend that you plan your fiat funding activities accordingly. Cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals will not be affected.

All dates/times mentioned below are Japan Standard Time (JST).

New Year’s holiday fiat deposits:

The deadline for receiving fiat deposits is Thursday, December 28th 2017 at 11:59PM (JST). Deposits not received by this time will not be received until after Thursday, January 4th. Please note that we cannot guarantee that deposits sent before this day will be received by the cut-off time.

New Year’s holiday fiat withdrawals:

The deadline for sending fiat withdrawals is no later than Thursday, December 28th 2017 at 3 PM (JST). Withdrawal requests made after this cutoff time will not be processed until January 4th.

Any deposits and withdrawals made after the above dates will not be processed until on or after January 4th, 2018. Also, please note that if there are issues with your deposits or withdrawals, such as missing reference codes or account name mismatches your funding request may be delayed until January 4th.

Finally, we are anticipating a surge in the number of deposit/withdrawal applications on January 4th, so please be aware that it may take slightly longer than usual for some funding applications to be processed.

Thank you for your understanding.

The Kraken Team

So as far as I understand it is just about fiat and about that specific japanese bank. Not to do anything with crypto.

Kraken is anyway quite laggy. I hope once it is fine again I see my xmr there.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 31, 2017, 02:24:28 PM
The deposits are still not visible on Kraken. They have not answered. Anybody else have these issues?
Never had issues depositing. Are you seeing the TX coming is as unconfirmed in the Kraken frontend?
Support has a lot to do, they will answer you.

I do not see anywhere any of incoming transactions. By that "frontend", do you mean the "account" view on Kraken? The deposits made earlier are visible and status is success. But these two what I made yesterday and this one that I made today, nothing.

Here
https://xmrchain.net/
I can see my transactions are confirmed for hundreds of times. And they have gone to right and valid address on Kraken.

If anyone would like to test and send like 0.1 xmr to Kraken.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 31, 2017, 02:05:26 PM
I just made two xmr deposits to Kraken, but after 30 confirmations they are not visible there. Have you experienced this kind of delay? How long will it take? The xmr deposit address is definitely valid.

Usually xmr has been visible after 15 confirmations.

Hello! Never had such problems, always brought everything through the monero and very quickly pass the transaction, most likely the problem with Kraken. Contact technical support.

It seems to me that it's too early to contact technical support. Maybe you need to wait. I also transferred these coins and I had to wait a few hours while they were credited to my deposit.

I contacted support right away. They have not answered yet. Coins can not be seen either yet on Kraken.

With https://xmrchain.net/ I can prove I have made the deposit. Transaction can be detected by using both standard address and Krakens integrated address.

I just made a third small xmr deposit to Kraken. After about 20 confirmations it is not visible on Kraken site. Could somebody else make a small xmr deposit on Kraken to test what happens?

The GUI could be updated the way, that is will show on transaction history details also the integrated address, if such is used when sending. Now when using integrated address the GUI creates a standard address and shows only it on the transaction details.

Its a double edge sword that we keep track so well against BTC.

I think its cos most people cant adjust well to changing prices of the underlying BTC and kind of baselined on their entry point.

Thats right. Every alt is still connected to BTC. People are mostly quite stupid and act that way, despite what ever you tell them. But what can you do. I hope the decouple will slowly finally happen anyway.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 26, 2017, 08:10:06 PM
I will give out  a total of 10 XMR to the person(s) that have correct or closest guess when Monero hits 777 USD

Well my predict is February 14. 2018.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 26, 2017, 07:21:17 PM
They were talking about BTC and tulips and having a good laugh.

The tulips people.

These type of people, who are arrogant and mocking toward cryptos, exist all around the planet. They defend the fiat controlled by the TPTB, thinking, that they are on the winners side of it. While they are not, only maybe half a percent of the people are.

These narcissistic idiots are unable to understand, that the benefit of the whole society would also be the benefit of themselves. But while they are unable to apprehend it, they lose a hell of a junk of a money. And that is just right for them.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 19, 2017, 07:18:02 PM
Now I am able to log in Kraken. On xmr deposit there is no transaction ID. Have I just missed it, or there really is no? Do they create individual address for each customer?
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 16, 2017, 08:18:50 AM
This is something that bears watching, IMO:
http ://redditmetrics.com/r/Monero

Out of 1.2 million /r/,  Monero is:

No. 104   Fastest growing yesterday
No. 117   Fastest growing last 7 days
No. 201   Fastest growing last 30 days
No. 427   Fastest growing last 90 days

Over 1000 new subscribers per day, and accelerating.  Sure, all of crypto is expanding, but to me this indicates that Monero is receiving its share of attention, and more.  Ranked  near top 0.1% (for # subscribers on that site) and exploding upward.  This is visibility, adoption, exposure, whatever you want to call it.  Here it comes.

Looks like Moneros hairy balls are finally gaining more attention than Amandas shiny tits.

And we can boost this up even more. Monero community is wealthy enough to fund an produce, lets say a two minute commercial on youtube. Two minutes is enough to handle scalability, security, untreacibility, fungibility, and the most essential, the privacy by defaul vs. optional privacy.

Lets run this on youtube as commercial and boom.

You do know about bulletproofs cutting tx fees by 80% in the next few months, right?

All of the alts are actively working on ways (or already have) to reduce fees and increase scaling. The only crypto that isn't doing anything about it is BTC.

I actually had not thought that bulletproof will decrease the fees also. Will it? But significant is, that it will decrease the transaction size. That is really something.

Probably bulletproof will happen at autumn 2018.

Has anybody any news about multisig? Something more than soon.
https://themerkle.com/moneros-multisignature-implementation-officially-enters-testing-phase/
What do you think, will coinbase adopt monero in few days or few months after multisig implementation.

Does bitstamp.net have any withdrawal limits on fiat or krypto?  I Did not find  any.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 13, 2017, 09:02:50 PM
Has bitcointalk been affected by the kraken virus? Because it's abysmally slow today.

Used xmr.to and was very pleased with it. Until kraken gets its act together (if ever) this is the way forward for me. Thanks to all.

I knew Kraken was laggy and all but never had issues with my transactions. Usually when I cashed fiat out it took maximum of 2 days to get my money (I think even next day mostly). Wonder why the differences?

The problem lies not so much in the transfer, rather than them being able to link my bank account. Apparently the software they use to upload and verify ID's isn't working. Believe it or not.

I was just about to exchange some krypto to 30.000€. But could not log in. How fast Euro transfers to Europe have usually been on Kraken?

When I was logged in to Kraken a few days ago, I was wondering at withdrawal page a text something like this "name of a bank account has to be equivalent of the name of your bank account".

I did not understand what that meant? Do you or anybody else? Could that some how relate to your bank account linking problem?
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 07, 2017, 09:26:28 PM
This is not related xmr, but for security and privacy for sure, so I dare to ask here.

How likely is it that an infecdet android phone behaves as a keylogger when it is connected via wifi to a laptop?

So the laptop is connected via wifi to the android phone and the android phone is connected to the internet. Is it even possible anyhow to phone log the pressed keys of the laptop when the connection between the laptop and the phone is made by the wifi?

I think it is almoust impossible, or else we would have huge keylogger problem since wifi is widely used not just privatly but also on many other public premises.

I am worried about that any kryptos seed could be stolen this way.

So what do you think?
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: December 03, 2017, 09:32:29 PM
Monero GUI has a box for the amount to be send. Right side of that box is a button "All". That button is better to be removed, so that no one will accidentally send all xmr.

That button is quite intuitive in my opinion. Furthermore, there is a confirmation window thereafter that'll show the amount.

It is intuitive, but the accidents do not ask a license when they happen. Only useful need for the button is to empty the wallet fast with no need to do the calculation to reduce the fee from the total sum. So I think the "All" button is almost useless.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2017-10-07: update to 0.9.14.0] on: December 03, 2017, 09:06:07 PM
Is there any checksum to verify here
https://github.com/aeonix/aeon
that I have downloaded the secure version of AEON source code?

If you are cloning the repo then git does its own hashing. Check the hash with git log and compare with the GitHub site.

If you mean the binaries, then no I don't think so, but we can start doing that.

I do not know what is "cloning the repo". I just clicked the green tab with whit white text written "Clone or download" and then clicked the "Download ZIP".

Also I do not know how to check the hash with git log and how to compare it with the GitHub site.

This is what I usually do.

But in this case I do not know where to compare that checksum.
