21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: May 14, 2017, 11:42:47 PM
Hi guys!

I synced the wallet, I try to login, already the whole day but it says: Unlocking your wallet, this may take a while (up to several minutes)...

and then siad stops and I have to restart the process again.

Anyone can assist in this?

Thanks!
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Epic Monster Moon on: May 13, 2017, 11:35:58 PM
Yeah good points. Stellar was just an example of inorganic price pumps, which isn't uncommon in crypto.

Here's my case for Sia being a winner this year.

1. Market cap of Sia growing with Altcoin market growth.  Siacoin's market cap in March 2016 was $1 million.  On January 1st, 2017, it was $5 million.   Today, it's about $60 million.  That's 12x growth in five months.  Similarly, the altcoin market has also grown explosively. Take Poloniex for example. Literally two weeks ago I saw that it's market cap overall was $250 million.  Today, just two weeks later, it's almost $1 billion.  Think about the amount of time it took from to go from zero to $250 million.  Poloniex has been out for years now.  To think, it's more than tripled in size in just two weeks.  This is good news for Sia.  There are a lot of eyes watching the altcoin space as BTC dominance declines.  Sia is a truly good project and clearly undervalued.  Look at how much crap is out there that is currently more expensive.

2.  The community, technical product, use case, cost, and roadmap.  These are all things in Sia's favor.  Decentralized cloud storage is a compelling use case.  Additionally, Sia claims their product will be 1/10th the cost of Amazon cloud, a nod to bottom line oriented business customers.  Further, Sia is really a backend platform providing the infrastructure that other platforms can build upon and focus their tech on the front end user.  Things like the future Netflix cloud or Dropbox can run on Sia's infrastructure.

It's just a no-brainer to get involved in this one.  A lot of investors are very touchy when their portfolios don't look pretty. Personally, I love it when Sia falls in price because I can buy even more for cheaper.  I think the June meeting comes at a great time in the altcoin market.  The technical achievements Sia will produce this year comes at a time when a lot of eyes are watching.  The confidence will be reflected in the rising value of Siacoin.

Can you or somebody else tell a bit about the JUNE release/news?

What will be released?

thanks!
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: May 13, 2017, 01:17:17 AM
I'd be happy to contribute a BTC or so to the foundation funds, although I do not believe twistelaar is capable of properly managing the funds (or the community, for that matter).

@EK I think you're obviously the most trusted and capable person who can pull this - are you up for that extra workload?

Based on what do you think I can not properly manage the project in the right direction?

EK said it already 10 times, he just loves to create the platform and doesn't want to manage the business side of the project. He already asked several times if the community want to step forward and take the leadership so we can move forward.

I offer to do this, because nobody else yet offered to take leadership and manage the project in the right direction, if somebody else thinks he can do this in a great way, PLEASE step forward and do it.

Beside that we all have to look how we can contribute to add value to the project.

@twistelaar, What experience do you have in managing a project of this caliber and will you bring other trusted people on board? I was trying to find the thread where you stated something about it, but couldn't find it.

I have previously managed QORA coin. I was the community manager and my tasks where mainly organising and giving instructions, so finding new devs, designers, website builders, setting up marketing campaigns(more then 2k followers on twitter), giving updates to the community, managing social media, making sure everybody did their tasks on time and so on.

In real life I have a mining start up.
I have a pretty big network in crypto around the world. I'm in several private groups and I can always find the right people to push the project forward.

My skills are mainly in organising, structuring, managing, communication and the business side of the project.

I'm happy to contribute with my skills. I offer to do this, because nobody else offers it, I want to see this project to succeed, just like anybody else in the community.

But again, if anybody else has more experience in managing a big project and feels confident of doing this, please step forward.

Your resume sound impeccable, but what happened with the funds over at Qora that a user here is mentioning? I just want to get the facts right.

Thanks! we just had a discussion here that was not adding anything to this thread, so we agreed to delete those posts. Regarding to the funds, I was paid 50% of the amount agreed on initially by the qora dev for my work and the other 50% he didnt paid, because he left the project and disappeared. At the moment I left the project after accomplished many tasks successfully I compensated my self for all the efforts I did for the project(this amount was way less then the other 50% which the dev didnt pay), I did this with approval of the other main leader of the project and we where fully transparent about this to the community. Above user was at that time following the project as well and didn't agree with that decision.

Anyways, we all want this project to succeed and I will help where I can help.

voting, lite wallet, mainnet, full functionality launch or a simple logo. We want to just best and we are discussing how can do this. Everyone says own ideas. This is good things.
Everyone want to best for Elastic with no doubt. We can discuss anything with respect and we need to be open minded for any possibilities, don't be upset or angry for that.

I have technically skills. If you want I can make a new website (on my free time), I can publish a lot of nodes (mainnet or testnet whatever), I can test to hardening. But I cant develop with EK our Elastic Code because I Dont know Java PL. I don't have good English writing or speaking. I can't write our technically document, I cant write blog post. But somebody can do.
But all of this about best for elastic.

I dont like a lot of talk, I just tried to work / contribute to Community. (elastic.pw,wallet.elastic.pw,node2.elastic.pw,some blog posts, and a lot of time etc.Ty for bought domain @cyberhacker)

I don't want to be rude but I need to say.
Talk is cheap guys, Just do it for Community.

If you want to see wallet.elastic.pw with testnet, I will. I can transfer domains and some accounts (Elastic.pw, Elastic-Coin twitter, Elastic Community Github ) to who want to. pm me.
I don't want to post anymore about anything, if you need something I can help with around of my abilities,  pm me.
Thanks, Community. I know we are the best Community.

Hi By Rallier!

Can you please start working on creating a website for Elastic?

Im sure you will be compensated for you work sooner or later.

Please let me know if and when you start and would be great if you post your progress so we can give some feedback.

Can another community member start helping By Rallier with the content of the website? As far I understand he needs help with the content writing. The person who can do this, please PM By Rallier and start working on the website, once the foundation is created we will compensate you. The foundation will come, the question is only when.

So any volunteers for the content writing for now?

Thanks!

I support the foundation idea by twistelaar. I'm researching what it takes to register/run a foundation for my own project and was going to offer to work on this together. I think the 200 BTC was just as a suggestion, not a required target. I'd be willing to donate a good % of XEL to a foundation to spur and reward innovation accordingly.

So to summarize: I think foundation will create a lot of good value for this project.

I see two options:

1. Accept BTC to fund and reward a solid launch with working MVP

2. Release light client and accept XEL to fund and reward a solid fork with working MVP

In fact these two options would be good candidates for a vote, assuming that community agrees on getting a foundation setup.

I think the best is that we just start to vote which option the majority of the community desires.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: May 11, 2017, 09:02:47 PM
professionals always getting paid for their work. therefore we really need some kind of fund or foundation. 200BTC is a good start.
This could be done by a multisig address by twistelaar and other big community members.

But a requirement for this is a light wallet release because people could donate XEL or BTC gainings to the foundation/fund. I think without any release not many people would donate their BTC.
This approach would be similar to IOTA. They also had the problem that there was no premine for devs and development.

Yes, I think we should really take an example of how IOTA brought the community together, raised A LOT of money to build a very strong foundation. They are more alive then ever and it is one of the most promising projects. After the first raising there was another crowd raising from the community which was HUGE and just recently another $ 2 million was raised.

Lets take an example from this and start contributing instead of complaining. Together we have the power to create something great. I think each community member should AT LEAST GIVE 10% of their XEL to the foundation or contribute in BTC.

I'm ready to assist where I can assist.

Number 1 goal for now is to start raising funds for the foundation.

I'm patient enough to wait for the full release, so I would suggest to create the foundation in BTC.
However there are people in the community who prefer to donate in XEL.  This is something we have to discuss further, if we create an asset for example or an lite client.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: May 11, 2017, 11:41:40 AM

Firstly I will setup a crowd fund raising; Where we at least have to bring in 200 BTC with the community so we establish a strong foundation to pay devs, pr, website and other costs.

Are you joking ? 200 BTC ( $360,000 ) to get a nice website ??! Don't you see everyone working here as a volunteer ? We , as a community, might seem divided but in reality we all care for this project and are well united to do the right thing and we don't need a $360,000 website. Meantime, you're welcome to join our team as a volunteer .

200 BTC is not for JUST a website. read it again. forget it, let me bullet point it for you. it is to

* Pay Devs (current and future Devs we might need to help EK)
* PR campaign (publish articles, twitter campaign, BTC sig campaign etc)
* Website (to build professional elastic website, to run elastic forum, elastic reddit & elastic slack)
* Other (Pay listing fees to exchanges like bittrex)

So what I see from several community member is a NO, but not coming with an alternative solution. Guys if we want this project to succeed we really have to start adding value to it. By skills, knowledge and funds.

This 200 BTC will be indeed used for many things such as stated above. And there will be a lot of costs which are unseen at the moment but where we need funds for. 200BTC is still not that much, its an start of creating a strong foundation from where we can start building the project.
The funds can be held by several trusted members in the community.

Another sure thing is that we need an manager who will steer the ship. It can be me or someone else who think he can do the job in a great way. And for this task I think its very appropriate the person get something in return for his efforts. Just like it is appropriate that the people who will build the website, write content, do marketing and the devs all get something in return for their efforts. By creating the foundation, we can pay everybody for all their hard work. I think this is more then normal.

Looking forward to the reply's and hope we can make this happen, I think it will boost the project in an very positive way to the right direction.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XEL] Elastic Project - The Decentralized Supercomputer on: May 10, 2017, 11:17:56 PM
Hi all,

It would be nice if the impatient people please get a life or start contributing in a way which excites the devs and also the community.
EK said it already a few times that he doesn't like the way some community members are behaving, please respect him, EK is putting his heart and soul in this project, for the love of in something he believes in, and not to make some impatient people rich.

What is very important at the moment, and that is also what EK is saying, is that Elastic needs professional help. Every project got at least one or more managers and a strong foundation with plenty of funds for development, bounty's, website, logo and so on.

I have offered this earlier, but nobody responded back then, so I will do it again;

I offer to become the manager of XEL;

Firstly I will setup a crowd fund raising; Where we at least have to bring in 200 BTC with the community so we establish a strong foundation to pay devs, pr, website and other costs.

My tasks will be;

-Creating a core team
-Marketing(twitter campaigns, articles)
-Make sure we have a good looking website/content/logo
-That people will start writing content
-Just managing the project business wise in the direction we all want to see it; top 5 in coinmarketcap.

My skills are: organising, bringing the right people together, communication, business skills.

I have done this also for the QORA project a few years ago.

I'm pretty sure I can do this next to my crypto start up I have in real life.

@EK, let me know what you think of this and of course other community members. I think we all agree every project needs an manager who is leading the project into the right direction.

The exchanges where HEAT is traded currently, are very unknown and nobody uses them almost.

Thank you.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic (XEL) Price Speculation 1 XEL=1 USD on: April 28, 2017, 11:42:06 PM
XEL will EASILY hit 1$ per coin, thats an mcap of 100million. This will be the short term price. Looking to the tech it really has much more potential. I think with good management and so on, XEL can reach a $1 billion marketcap in a few years and even more than that.

Patience is a virtue  Wink

I like the above logo, since it has not that many dots as the first version, however I think the green should be really changed to warm orange.

Can you please change all the green colours in the logo to warm orange and post it again here?

I think it will look great Smiley

You can find orange examples here:
https://talk.elasticexplorer.org/t/logos-for-elastic/54/8

Thanks the orange one looks great! I also really like the old logo, why dont we just use that one?

With a lot of coding stuff beneath it.

Anyone know what to do, so the wallet can start up?

Thanks!

Can anybody write in detail what will the earnings be if you stake HEAT?

And please, only post an detailed and clear picture of this. I might attract some new people that want to get on board.

I do think this should also be on the website, to see investors the nice returns HEAT can give with staking.

Visit this site https://heatbrowser.com/report.html and you will see live data from nodes that contribute by forging. Once the rewards are enabled and more nodes are present the data will be more precise. But in average there has been a 7-8% profit/month. Which is a lot.

Thanks! is the staking already working? cause there where some problem before.

What are the plans to hit some major exchanges like Bittrex/Poloniex?

We really need that to start having mass adoption.
