1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: January 01, 2022, 03:14:40 PM
Is there a good linux mining distro for the AM client?
Been running AM for years on my windows rigs, and using the external miner support to monitor t-rex running on hiveOS on my Linux Octominer systems. However, I’d like to get my linux systems profit switching. Is there a linux distro that will still handle the gpu driver/firmware updates and integrate with Octominer fan control/temp monitoring like HiveOS but let me run the Linux Awesome Miner client instead?
Thanks!

I have one of these MI25 cards and want to experiment before I go looking for more. Does anyone have a link to the new vbios for them?
Thanks!
3  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: February 16, 2021, 07:36:01 PM
What kind of performance can I reasonably expect on S9 and S9i, assuming I set powerlimit to 1500. For some reason autotuning is giving me 16+th on one..and only 14th on the other, even though both have all chips active? I’ve heard of people getting as high as 18th+?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [1080 | 1080TI] ETHlargement - The Hashrate Hardener on: June 26, 2018, 02:12:31 AM
Which eth miner is everyone having the best success with? Claymore 11.8 seems to be very flaky...

Anyone else stuck on syncing at "13 days behind" after installing the 3.0.1 update?
I tried editing the .conf file per above, but no difference

Any idea why masternode isn't working? followed instructions for local setup guide on windows, but it doesn't like the "masternode start" command. if I try "masternode start all" I get this:

{
  "overall": "Successfully started 0 masternodes, failed to start 0, total 0",
  "detail": {
  }
}

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: March 23, 2018, 01:52:42 AM
Sp-mod nist5 isn’t free? It’s packaged with a guiminer, and it’s also on a bunch of forums.

Best Algo/hashrate:Nist5 92hasharte on 100% power ( 96.3 on 120%)

The nist5 sp-mod Does 92 MHASH @ 80% power

Sorry, we use free software. Move on.

Is SHA256T broken? showing nothing but "ninja" which I assume is some orphan/fake thing? Also shows a ridiculously high comp rate for instant and 24hr

read FAQ, question 11

Thanks. I think I figured out why Awesomeminer was showing insane profits. It was defaulting to mbtc/MH/day through the API, but looks like this SHA256T is actually mbtc/GH/Day

Sigh..I had hope!

Thanks. I don’t seem to have the custom service option. Is this a beta feature? I’m running GA 4.5

How can I add blazepool as a profit switching pool like zergpool, etc?

just tried this today myself, step to take is as follows:

1. Options -> Online services -> Add... (User defined online services)
2. Service: Custom (Yiimp compatible)
Algorithm: (respective algo you wish to setup on the pool)
Algorithm API identifier: algoname specified by the pool API (eg, bitcore, blake2s....etc, as per pool API...each pool can and likely be different...for blazepool, refer to http://api.blazepool.com/status)
Profit factor: leave at 1 for starters and change later as you see fit
Password(optional): c=BTC (required for blazepool I believe, else just the usual you'd use with most Yiimp based pools)
Include in Managed Profit Switcher (checked)
Pool Name: A name easy for you to identify and manage
API URL: http://api.blazepool.com/status (for blazepool)
Pool URL: stratum+tcp://<ALGO>.mine.blazepool.com:<PORT>
Bitcoin Address: <Your Bitcoin Address> (really is the -u <WALLET> for the Yiimp based pools, so if on a pool that supports altcoin payouts, you are free to put address of the payout coin here)

3. After setting them up, just refresh Online Services tab and its view filters and see if your new service is setup properly, and stats pulled matches the pool or if needed to adjust profit factor

hope it helps.

How do I specify to use different miners? Neoscrypt for example defaults to KlausT, but Excavator gives 30% better performance. Same with RavenEnemy vs Raven225 build here
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: March 18, 2018, 03:34:25 AM
Kayden, do you have performance for P102-100 in Skein, X17, Lyra2z, Lyra2v2, EQHash and Phi? Eth isn't profitable anymore...
Thanks!

P102 eth performance from my factory source. $700 usd, but have to pre-order now and receive in early May.

...

Seems less efficient in terms of hash/watt compared to P104 which can do 37mh/s at 120w.

This is tempting, but I'm holding off expansion till end of GTC. Next gen just around the corner.

whats the minimum qty for pre-order?

I asked pricing for 80pcs and was quoted $700. It should get slightly cheaper (expensive) if the quantity increases (decreases). Didn't ask for the minimum qty though.

It's good density, but 2x 580s is a better deal imo. It needs to be $600 or lower,  unless resale value is no issue for you then it can be seen as a msrp 1080ti with better eth performance.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer B8PLUS 8 PCIe Slot Mining Board (Motherboard, integrated CPU) on: March 14, 2018, 01:32:11 PM
I got news for you buddy. First, HPE is far from the most reliable server manufacturer. IBM/Lenovo and Cisco run rings around them. Second, who do you think designs and manufacturers all those server power supplies for tier1 OEMs like HPE?  Grin

My experience:

However - server PSUs have been nothing short of a nightmare. First PSU flashed a bright white on startup and didn't turn on again. Second PSU worked and I managed to mine equihash on HiveOS. But then I heard a loud SNAP, and found the PSU dead smelling of burnt plastic and hot to the touch. Tried the third PSU after, but it never even turned on. There is nothing abnormal about my house and I already had two rigs going.

There is a reason proper/real/genuine server psu`s have two letters on them - HP Smiley Do not buy Chinese junk. They are not real server psu`s, Chinese clones of HP products. Only buy real HP stuff, which will last you years to come and won`t risk your expensive gpu`s.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Octominer B8PLUS 8 PCIe Slot Mining Board (Motherboard, integrated CPU) on: March 14, 2018, 01:26:40 PM
Thanks, and you are right. The dimensions are clearly listed, I just assumed rack mount. So far, everything works quite well, and the motherboard was easy to use with Win 10. Do you know when the molex fan controller will be available? Also, are you planning an nvidia version of the prebuilt version?

Well, I got my Octominer case in, and I found a huge problem. Its supposedly a 4u rack mount case, but it doesn't fit in a standard 19" rack!..its over 22" wide! Oops.
So its useless for hosting in any datacenter, unless its a mickey mouse one that just uses shelves, vs proper enterprise racks.
Also has some very nice Delta PWM fans, unfortunately the PWM and sense leads are literally snipped off, so fan speeds are not controllable. Grrrr

Hey!
The 4U is for the height of the case. We had the dimensions listed under the product descriptions also.
Sorry to hear that you did not notice it during checkout.
Regarding the PWM  wires. Some batches of fans had them snipped off, all the fans work fine though and this will not be an issue. This was due to our case supplier using fans they had in stock, otherwise it would have made the production times longer. Currently there is also a shortage of high quality fans in the market in China due to all the mining activity. Smiley
We also have a fan speed controller coming out soon that can be used with those fans without the need for the PWM wires. Will be plug and play.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

Is there a way to get Awesomeminer to display total per day in BTC or LTC, vs just a fiat currency? It'll make things a lot less depressing Smiley
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 16 gpu industrial style miner review. Will post details soon__updated on: March 11, 2018, 06:23:35 AM
Your problem is you are crippling your cards running them at 75% power on Equihash. Underpowering cards is fine for mem intensive algorithms like cryptonight or eth, but it directly reduces core clock speed. With an FTW3 hybrid card, 120+ power and +80 core, +400 mem should get you over 780 easily. Use DSTM or Excavator for best results.

How do you get 760 from a ftw hybrid? I'm stable at 75% pl, +100 core, +150 mem. This gets me 725-730 sols, not 760?
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New 16 gpu industrial style miner review. Will post details soon__updated on: March 09, 2018, 04:04:04 AM
I just don’t get the lots of small cards approach. A 7 gpu 1080ti rig will outperform this on most algorithms, at significantly lower cost.
7x1080ti gets you 5400+ sols, 266phi, 140 x16r, and 14k neoscrypt.
Pretty sure 16x 1060 equivalent cards can’t touch that..
