341  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: July 05, 2015, 09:10:50 PM
for an arbitrary altcoin, how do i determine the -X value (address family, eg: dogecoin is value 30)
to use in vanitygen ?
is there a standard place in the coin's source code?
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NDL - The coin for Pastafarians - Flying Spaghetti Monster Cryptocurrency! on: July 05, 2015, 07:50:37 PM
okay, i have one running Smiley
 addnode=dognose.com
use domain names rather than ip#s since, even though my ip#s are fairly stable, they are not true
static ip#s and do occasionally change.

simple NDL resource webpage at http://dognose.com/ndl

my linux wallet and my private windows32 wallet use each other as nodes, but of course
neither of them has found any external nodes yet Sad i still have my blockchain data from
when i stopped about 48 weeks ago.

i suggest the following in the noodlyappendagecoin.conf file:

server=1
daemon=1
addnode=dognose.com  # dognose's daemon1 up 24/7
addnode=dognose.ca  # dognose's win32 QT wallet up when at home
addnose=dognose.com:60021   # dognose's daemon2 up 24/7

i wont start mining until i have external connections, dont want to waste time on creating forks.

i'm an old crusty C programmer and will 'get into' the wallet code sometime in the future when real spare time actually presents itself Smiley or urgent situations :0

i could run a full node, where do i find the most recent source of ndldeamon ? any weird configuration sequence/dance i need to do, or will a simple Make do the right thing?
i should have various dependency libs already installed from compiling another coin's wallet.

and for mining, without a pool, do i just point my tiny little 1.4mh 'fury' scrypt miner at the ndldeamon i'm running?

i could host a temporary website/webpage of ndl 'resources' at my personal domain too.

is there a generic/free block explorer source code i could compile, configure, and run on my linux?

so, mr HG reappears after a day of no-show and suddenly is all contrite and apologetic about "how he screwed up" and how he has no more funds, and no job, oh he's so sorry...

and admitted the "sustain" fund doesnt exist any more, and that screen shot he posted here yesterday was a total fake.

and suddenly everyone in his chatroom are eating it all up! they are so desparately greedy and money hungry they'll believe anything
and are encourage him to restart. omfg.

so sad to watch the disaster continue to get bigger.

shaking my head...

@Hellsgremlin what a good actor,,,

not really, that's why i was discouraging investors early yesterday.
his absolute refusal to put up any notices on his website about what is going on was a serious warning sign.

346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XPYPONZI.COM 100% TRANSPARENT PONZI 75% Money Back Gurantee on: January 15, 2015, 10:59:13 PM

...and i'll report back here when he fails on the 48hour/75% guarantee.

I Feel you are going to be Dissapointed... Considering The sustain fund has Secured 238.8735
More Then required to pay all Users Owed 100% ( Yeah... Over Delivering )

well now, you have not dissapointed me.
its been a little about 62 hours since i invested. your website still claims you do payout runs every 4 hours. so that means you've had 3 payout opportunities to make good on your 48hour/75% 'guarantee.'

you have not. and from the looks of the chatbox on your website, nobody has seen any sign of money all day.

such guarantee. much money. so reliable. wow
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XPYPONZI.COM 100% TRANSPARENT PONZI 75% Money Back Gurantee on: January 15, 2015, 07:13:34 PM
When is the next payout? I heard it was 5 PM eastern. Can anybody confirm that?

the webpage still says every 4 hours.
that's all anyone can know -- what they says on the website.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XPYPONZI.COM 100% TRANSPARENT PONZI 75% Money Back Gurantee on: January 15, 2015, 12:12:05 PM

Its a scammer.
There was no plan for a return.

he posted a pretty picture showing a balance of a few hundred coins.
isn't that proof of integrity? don't get distracted by lack of actual performance.

he screwed up handling a simple first-in/first-out queue (he made out-of-sequence payouts) and is now talking about relaunching an expanded site with more features, little games or something. how in the hell does he think he's going to manage that if he cant manage a simple queue?

also the first 'feature' boasted on the web page is "full transparency."
however he wont post a clear/concise update on the webpage as to the current status of the operation because he tells me that would look like a  'big red flag.'
ahhh, so full transparency means only when it doesn't look bad.

people are making excuses for him/her, that he's tired -- he's been up all day the last couple days, etc...
well, pretty much proof he's in way over his head.

apparently he claims to have hired 'professionals' to develop his planned site relaunch. oh great, now he thinks they're capable of managing people too.

and those of us who were skipped in his payout screwup, those of us who would have got a full investment return, i'm sure will be expected to show gratitude if he actually manages to pay us 75% of our investment back. oh look! they honoured his guarantee!! woo hoo! (but wait, i should have had a full investment payout...)

sure 75%, later than promised, is better than nothing. but i really hope there is no expectation of gratitude.

he's actually a bigger menace than a real scam. people will keep giving them the benefit of doubt and people will keep losing.
but then, probably is a real scam.

350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XPYPONZI.COM 100% TRANSPARENT PONZI 75% Money Back Gurantee on: January 14, 2015, 08:17:23 PM
so he's blaming another ponzi for his own ponzi's failure?

awesome.

and i'll report back here when he fails on the 48hour/75% guarantee.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XPYPONZI.COM 100% TRANSPARENT PONZI 75% Money Back Gurantee on: January 14, 2015, 06:44:59 PM
so apparently this dude running xpyponzi was doing 'manual payouts' yesterday.
and apparently had no procedures in place to do it right. no checks, no balances.
and now claims to have overlooked/skipped a block or more of transactions. people got paid
out of order -- and the skipped ones are still waiting for more funding.

okay, mistakes happen.

but, he's refusing to communicate this openly with any sort of notice on his website.
he prefers people sit wondering wtf happened, or hunt him down in a chatbox to get answers.
i had to ask several times before he would even answer what time periods the skipped blocks covered.

when pressed why he does not post a public notice, he said he prefers a 'personal touch.'
immedately following that with personally confusing one of his chatroom investors with someone else and accusing them of trying to pull some sort of payout fraud against him. good personal touch there!

he's convinced proper communication/site-notice is a 'big red flag'.
i'm convincned incompetent communication is far worse and just indicitive of his general lack of business sense.

no, he's not a scam.
he's incompetent.
too incompetent to manage payouts, too incompetent to communicate, and certainly his shiney new automated payout script will more than likely blow up.

nope. dont need a scam to lose money, just incompetence.

when i told him i've mentally wrote-off my minor investment, he said he will remember that when he does any catch up payments. cool. vindictive site manager too.

not a scam, just too dangerous to be allowed to deal with anything with more than 2 transactions.
i'd avoid him folks even if it means he will never be able to fund my payouts.

Josh doesn't have enough confidence in his own scam abilities anymore... He's hired a professional to represent him...

well not everyone can have the same luxury as you having a mother upstairs taking care of your shit for free.

INCOMING! HT airdrop!

You guys are funny. If you don't like this the worst thing you can do is keep bumping this thread with personal attacks against the OP. Despite what you've been told by your great leader, this will NOT make XPY look any better. But don't let me get in your way. Carry on.

riiigggght discourage those personal attacks... yup, you are really convincing there.

Hey guys,

Cyrus Farivar here. I'm a reporter with Ars Technica working on a story about GAW and Garza. I spoke with him by phone yesterday and would love to speak with anyone that has had direct dealings with the company and/or has direct knowledge of financials of similar companies. He made some claims that sound wild to me, but I want to check.

My previous work: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/04/digging-for-answers-the-strong-smell-of-fraud-from-one-bitcoin-miner-maker/

wow, the fact that you are here trying to only look for bad stories on GAW shows how much integrity you have. You call yourself a Journalist?.

Sad

yup, it's telling he tweeted a request for negative comments, and not asked for positive ones, or "any" comments. he only wants the one side for his foxnews like reporting.
356  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think you were scammed by GAW? Tell Ars Technica on: January 13, 2015, 10:49:04 PM
so, why does a reporter on cryptocurrency only JUST created a bitcointalk account?
guess he's so up on cryptos he's never needed to be here before.

What that he called people with legitimate concerns witch hunters?  I agree that's not cool.

no, he didnt call them witch hunters, he said they were acting LIKE witch hunters.
perhaps too subtle for you to comprehend.

if this coin is already launched why is there still an f'n password on the wallet .rar download?

what a way to get rapid adoption...
