It works!!! Donation sent. Thanks!

Thanks.

I just tried to make some transactions to satoshidice but it doesn't work any more.
It says that transactions are done, but they don't appear anywhere.

Did you double spend the tx? http://blockchain.info/tx-index/4635936/1dd3742a30f08a2afd5a39660fe17b2687e5078c8b842e8bfc96f6bd00d7c1a0

Yes. A lot of transactions seem to be going to http://blockchain.info/address/1dice8EMZmqKvrGE4Qc9bUFf9PX3xaYDp but that doesn't account for the entire increase.

Somewhere along the line I broke M-of-N support. Serves me right for not writing unit tests.

Such error logs / stack traces should not be viewable on a production website even if it crashes / gets into an error state.
You should configure a cleaner error page that doesn't reveal info, perhaps using a frontend server (Apache?)

Yes your right. Stacktraces are now hidden https://blockchain.info/sdfsdf

The Blockchain app for iPhone uses this format "bitcoin://...." when presenting a barcode for requestion payment. I am considering to let BitcoinSpinner accept it, but I'd prefer if we can just use the standard.

I used bitcoin:// because some social media bookmarking services (I think Facebook & G+) would not accept a bitcoin: link. Most APIs that handle this let you register the prefix (e.g. bitcoin) and handle both : and ://

I was wondering if anyone uses the wallet as their "main" wallet to hold more than smaller amounts, and do away with a traditional wallet.

It's not possible for me to see the balance of blockchain.info wallets but there have been some transactions of $30,000 +. Security is pretty tight, if there wasn't so many hoops to just through I would have been able to fix the recent downtime in a few minutes.

If possible,  please add Chinese RMB to the list of currencies available in the Blockchain iphone and android app.
Done.

Just to let you know, visiting blockchain.info or the wallet app on my phone now says that the server certificate is not trusted since the certificate has expired?
Cert should be fixed now. Red was correct, an intermediate was missing.

Go Daddy? Eww.
Yeah I know but you can't argue with their prices.

I did make some changes to the SSL earlier but it does validate for me:

What browser/os are you using?

I can't connect at all through the mobile app. Seems iPhone and Android are down.

Are you receiving any error? Donation address is listed on the homepage. Thanks

Should be Back up now. Got a lot of emails to sift through, I'll reply to everybody later - its been long flight and right now I need some sleep.
725  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 30, 2012, 08:54:24 PM
So the enginneer restarted tomcat but the frontend still isn't responding. Couldn't have happened at a worse time as weve just had our YC interview and wanted to demo the Site.

I need to diagnose the problem but can't do it from here due to firewall restrictions so unfortunately the site won't be back up for another 48 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience if I could fix it any faster I would.

The multibit client (http://multibit.org/) can import blockchain.info backups easily.
726  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 30, 2012, 01:49:30 PM
Site seems to be having a bit of trouble. Im still away from home and cant administer it from here
but an engineer at the datacenter should be restarting the web server shortly.

If it doesnt come back online straight away you can import wallet backups into multibit.

Ok, interesting. Very interesting for the advertisement this is doing but on the fact that you don't need an intermediary ... how is blockchain.info not an intermediary? Yes, with bitcoin, you can run your own top level (in the sense that there is no higher authority) piece of banking infrastructure on your phone as you can both run a full client (schildbach) and even mine on mobile devices (although I don't know if phones reach kH/s) but this is not what this app does. Welcome, blockchain.info is your bank.

Blockchain.info is an intermediary but the User is not dependant on it. You remain the only person who can access your wallet and as long as you keep a backup are free to move your keys to a different client at anytime.

It's a centralised interface for convenience with the ability to fall back to the decentralised network if need be.
728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Access blockchain.info wallet without password, two factor, or e-mail on: April 25, 2012, 11:20:24 PM
Oh okay. So if the secret phrase is set, an IP and such will not be enough? I'm happy with that.

Yes if the secret phrase is set I will not disable two-factor authentication.

Without the secret phase all I have to go with is the ip, email and some other basic questions.
729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Access blockchain.info wallet without password, two factor, or e-mail on: April 25, 2012, 10:50:50 PM
Set the secret phrase.

How do you verify the identity of an anonymous person whose entire digital presence may have been compromised? I'm open to suggestions.

On my android the camera is broken; is there any way to pair the device with my wallet without scanning the QR code?

Not at the moment sorry.

I'd like to try it on my HTC Desire, but I get an error on start up:

The app need android 2.3 or higher (currently set on google play to 2.2 which is wrong).

Balance shown in BlockChain.info Android app is different from that shown on web wallet, by 0.00813745.

Yes this is a known bug. The balance on the iPhone/Android shows Active and archived addresses. The balance on the web wallet shows only active addresses. Edit: Sorry read the whole post, seems like a different issue - I've noted it down.

Off to the States on the 26th, will probably not have time to fix any of these bugs until I get back on the 1st.

congra, will be Blockchain HD iPad IOS app with full wallet functionality to? thx

Yes, this is planned/

piuk, did you receive a crash report this time?

Yep I got the exact same report as last time but I am unable to find the issue. Do you have any kind of Cydia special theme / visual mods installed?

733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are my bitcoins done for?! on: April 23, 2012, 10:12:52 AM
Haha what can I say? I have a way with f*cking things up.

I hope this works!

The reason why your transaction did not get confirmed is due to the very small 0.0005 BTC change output. There was a bit of a bug in My Wallet where it was not checking the change output when calculating the fees, this has now been fixed.

Also your BTC would never be lost due to this. After 24 hours pending it would be "returned" to you and you would be able to spend the funds again.
734  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 23, 2012, 10:08:31 AM
EDIT: Btw I have a question. Since you don't charge any fees for your My wallet service I was wondering how are you able to monetize your site in order to pay for it's costs? Are you planing to introduce fees later on? Maybe some other type of a payment plan?

Sponsorship from cryptoxchange (Please support them) pays for hosting and SMS Desposits provides a little extra for my time. Transactions will always be free - I don't think they are a profitable business model a) there just isn't enough bitcoin transactions at the moment b) you have to compete with free clients.

Ben plans on running off with everyone's money. Not to worry, just the cost of doing business.

yes and this.
735  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 23, 2012, 10:01:25 AM
so now i've also tried (with no luck):

it's confirmations= (but only works with /q not with /multiaddr). Multiaddr is always 0 confirmations.
736  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 21, 2012, 01:03:01 PM
sorry one more question if you don't mind... how many confirmations does the 'total_received' amount relate to? is it 1+ and is there a way to get the 0 conf amount?

It is 0 confirmations. Btw if total_received is the only thing you need your better off calling /q/getreceivedbyaddress with multiple addresses e.g.

http://blockchain.info/q/getreceivedbyaddress/14Dj368DZyFPDbSbERf53wcGLWefsZUamn|1HLFLgrwQRuFVu1dhjjPLWqY314DsMjRco|19Wv538dbmoMTtoGPxwqD8N6ZYzFyMBL2U

Default is also 0 confirmations, but you can pass a confirmations parameter if you want something different.
737  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 21, 2012, 12:43:08 PM
so, am i to assume that the limit on the number of addresses queried is related to the GET specification?

400 is the limit for active addresses, i'd split it into multiple calls if you need more.
738  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: April 21, 2012, 12:34:35 PM
apologies for the ignorance, but could someone give an example of how to call multiaddr?

the documentation under /api is a bit (a lot) vague.

thanks.

The usage has changed a bit recently. There is now few parameters:

Mandatory:
- "active" - addresses which you want included in the final balance.

Optional:
- "archived" - addresses which you want included the results calculations but don't want included in the final balance.
- "offset" - skip the first n results
- "filter" - show only transactions of a specific type: sent = 1, received = 2, moved = 3, escrow = 4;

Separate multiple addresses with | e.g.

http://blockchain.info/multiaddr?active=1Cp3FEaXFkSutXGYHKuNkkeYog6bsHpk7a|1HLFLgrwQRuFVu1dhjjPLWqY314DsMjRco|19Wv538dbmoMTtoGPxwqD8N6ZYzFyMBL2U&archived=14Dj368DZyFPDbSbERf53wcGLWefsZUamn

* Full iPhone app now available in the app store

* Multibit can now import blockchain.info wallet files (using the latest git).

Select your encrypted wallet.aes.json or unencrypted wallet.json

Enter your password and second password then press the import private keys button.

This is now the recommended way to restore wallet backups in case anything happens to blockchain.info (and the web interface isn't in your browsers cache). Thank you to Jim618 for merging the changes.

Also thank you to the recent donators.
