521  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [HELP] BlockChain.info RECEIVE MONEY API does not execute the callback on: October 11, 2012, 08:38:17 AM
....and everythings works fine except one thing: the http callback is not executed for real transactions. Everythings goes fine, the money flows from one address to another but the callback is not executed. The test callback works fine.

Was the callback should not called once? What is the URL in question I will check the logs?

I can confirm there was an issue with the callback not being retried every block until the "*ok*" is given which should be fixed now.

522  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 10, 2012, 08:19:20 PM
every time i login into my online wallet, Local Currency keeps resetting from Euro to U.S. Dollar.

In Account settings it is correctly set to Euro.

However, if i click the "refresh button" (next to logout button), Local Currency is then changed back to Eur.

The users currency is cached on the login page using the HTML5 app cache. This could probably get out of sync if the currency is changed again after being cached. I have added the currency code to the manifest file, which should cause the cache to be refreshed when the currency changes.

So please try refreshing the page once or twice and I think the problem should be fix.

like I said in an earlier post..  even if we choose different filtering options.. as soon as we change "pages" that filter gets reset to default

This should be fixed now.

Sorry if it I miss suggestions or feature requests. It was up to me I would spend 100% on development, but lately more time is being taken up by Admin tasks/support requests etc.

PingIt limit increase to £75. BTC reserves are still low but will hopefully be full stocked by tomorrow.
523  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 10, 2012, 05:52:28 PM
There is now a filter on address pages to show confirmed transactions only (Including filtering orphans)

524  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 10, 2012, 05:20:32 PM
Is there a way to make blockchain.info not show orphan's in the Final Balance (like when viewing by address)? This is the only thing keeping me away from blockchain.info.

I'm not getting an answer. Looks like the people in charge of blockchain.info only care about the profitability and not making it better.

On normal address pages, no. The API & wallet will not show orphans.
525  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: October 10, 2012, 02:42:49 PM
Not to be a PIA, but I am having trouble accessing the JSON RPC from the Ruby example code on the wiki.  I keep getting a Connection reset by peer (Errno::ECONNRESET) error, although using CURL and bitcoind itself works.  I looked at the internals and a curl trace and it all appears fine.

How can I debug this? or..
Under what conditions will the server just close the connection?  or..
Has anyone else ran across this?

Thanks!

Does this happen for all calls or a particular method? What is the ruby library you are using?

Is there something wrong with the two factors sms authentication. I don't get a sms when I try to open my wallet?

Are you outside the US? Our previous SMS provider only has patchy support for international SMS (http://www.tropo.com/). I have switched to twilio.com which should be more reliable.

526  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Be careful using Blockchain as your wallet... on: October 10, 2012, 07:41:50 AM
I am aware that Blockchain does not store your password locally so I wrote my password down on paper and put it in my safe.

Try opening notepad or another simple text editor and writing the password in plaintext exactly how you think it should appear. Then copy and paste it into the password field.

Keeping you own paper backup or .aes.json backup is the always recommended. Then you can restore the wallet using a desktop client if need be.
527  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How does mtgox compare to bank conversion? on: October 09, 2012, 03:19:45 PM
I'm not sure why I would want mtgox in the equation at that point. I could do USD->mtgox myself.

Ok sorry I meant paying directly in Mt.Gox's account, if you have a USD account also then everything will work fine.
528  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How does mtgox compare to bank conversion? on: October 09, 2012, 02:59:52 PM
Is that a technical thing? Cause my personal name would be the same on all sides of the transaction(s)

It due to AML I think. Transferwise receive money from your account, convert to to EUR/USD and then forward it from their bank account to Mt.Gox. Because it comes from their bank account Mt.Gox will reject it.
529  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How does mtgox compare to bank conversion? on: October 09, 2012, 01:45:54 PM
If you simply want to go from GBP to USD, there are other services that might do that more efficiently for now:

 - http://www.TransferWise.com  <-- Not USD yet, but to EUR, etc.

To avoid others making the same mistake as me:

CurrencyFair & Transferwise cannot be used to fund a Mt.Gox account as the senders bank name will be different from the name associated with the Mt.Gox account.
530  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Bitcoin client for the common users (friendly and instant) on: October 08, 2012, 06:33:40 PM
Any chance someone could take a look this pull request https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum-server/pull/5

I would like to add an electrum fallback to blockchain.info but cannot currently due to CORS.
531  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: lost blockchain.info wallet identifier on: October 08, 2012, 12:38:29 PM
Should info on a transaction theoretically be enough for piuk to identify the wallet and supply the ID?

Julz,

No unfortunately as we cannot look at the transactions or addresses in a wallet this will not help.

We can lookup a wallet by:

- ip address
- email
- skype username
- yubikey
- Password (by testing it against all wallets)

If you have any of these then i'm sure it can be found, knowing the approximate time and date the wallet was created also helps.
532  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTB] BTC for UK Bank transfer on: October 06, 2012, 03:56:37 PM
Looking to buy 100-1000 BTC amounts for a UK GBP Bank transfer. Negotiable rate.

Pingit deposits have been much more popular than I was expecting. They are fully automated however I am unable to process refunds or deal with problematic orders (e.g. mistyped references or incorrect amount paid) remotely. I will be back in the UK in approx 12hrs. So anyone waiting for a refund or missing a payment please sit tight until tomorrow and all issues will be sorted ASAP. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Just a quick note to remind everyone that I am currently on holiday. Data roaming in Kenya costs a small fortune so I will address all posts & PM's when I get back on the 5th.
535  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to buy bitcoins on: September 22, 2012, 04:36:42 PM
took 7 hours to hit my BlockChain.Info wallet and that was with doing the PingIt at 5am on a Saturday morning.

Thank you for trying our service. Payments no longer require manual approval and are now full automated. So now, no matter what time you order, the delay for receiving the coins should be only a few minutes (possibly as little as 30 seconds).

0% Fee will be available until the 24th, after which the fee will be set at the same rate as Mt. Gox (0.6%).

The president of U-kash spoke at the london bitcoin conference and stated that they will not allow bitcoin exchanges to accept U-kash. However they might instead be opening their own exchange.
536  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Blockchain Wallet on: September 21, 2012, 01:44:53 PM
I think this is due to a bug in the IOS 6 safari browser.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12506897/ios6-safari-caching-ajax-results

please clear safari's cache and try again.

Sorry for this issue. Please try this transaction again now.

This really is awesome!  Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up at the BTC conference, it would have been good to thank you personally for the great service you provide to the bitcoin community.

There is always the next year Smiley

How do we invest in your web site?
I think you are the next google/facebook/twitter/bigboobasianladyboys.com

Thank you for the complement, I think:) Investment is not need currently as the site is sufficiently funded for it's current goal. Which is to be a profitable, sustainable business within the current bitcoin economy - "Bitcoin wallet for bitcoiners". Maybe in future we will be looking for more funding for marketing etc, but that is way off yet.

The service is actually pretty good, and I encourage you to at least take a deeper look.  It took me about 15 mins to integrate it the first time I did.  Start here http://boxcar.io/help/api/providers

Since the API is really simple to implement I have added it. I'm not sure if the My Wallet app needs approval by the boxcar.io admins but it seems to work for me.

Something is wrong with the window called about. The window is moving, being hard to users read. I think the problem is because the window latest transaction is ajax.

I'm not sure what window you mean? A popup dialog?

Block updating has stopped. Something is wrong with your site, piuk.

Thanks for letting me know, I have added some extra checks to hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Piuk,

I really think you should change the top bar to something like the one of www.bitcoincharts.com

1- Change the buttons home, charts, stats, api to below the blockchain name/logo
2- In the place of buttons specified above, you could add the informations like: blocks, total of btc, difficulty, ... like how bitcoincharts show.
3- I think the wallet button should be located separated of other buttons and with a better design and bigger size.
4- I think you should remove at least the 3 last lines of the window most recently mined blocks in the bitcoin block chain. I think 10 lines is much.

I think your right about number 4. If the header was going to be re-designed it would be at the point when the entire Site was re-designed professionally (ditching bootstrap), for the moment I think it is ok.

My apologies, I did not see the answer. Is this something we can add? It could be as simple as recording the total number of coins per day, or per week. I'd like to know what the demand is for coin mixing.

As far as i'm concerned the less logs the better, even if it's only a counter. I would say that demand is moderate, the reason TorWallet turned rogue may have been that demand for mixing wasn't high enough.
540  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: September 19, 2012, 12:06:24 PM
Can you please add a graph showing the total number of anonymized coins over time?

I did answer this previously. There are no logs of this, so no.

Another feature request (as if you didn't have enough to do right?)  Add Boxcar (http://boxcar.io) as a notification option?

It is free and it rocks.  I use it on several of my projects and love it.

The app has a lot of one star reviews which puts me off a but. I think rather than using a 3rd party for push notifications it would be better to support push notifications within the iphone app itself.

1- Add on My transactions window a column showing what was the usd value of 1 bitcoin in the exact time someone sent me the coins (for received transaction) and the exact price at time I sent (for sent transactions)
2- On account settings I could choose the data of what exchange will be used and the currency.

I could see this being useful. Certainly BTC-e & Bitstamp can be added.

2. In your "My Wallet Confirmation code" emails, please send the IP which initiated the login attempt.

The requesters ip will now be shown in the email.

I've been trying to make a paper wallet according to this tutorial, but I don't see an offline mode button on the login page. Is there a new way of doing this? I've never made a paper wallet before. Tongue

The Offline checkbox was removed, the documentation needs updating. To use offline mode now just disconnect your internet and refresh the login page. Be sure to clear the browsers cache before connecting to the internet again.

Hey piuk I have a question.. Can the backup that was sent to my email be decrypted by simply using my password only even if I have sms two factor authentication enabled?

Yes, Two factor authentication does not affect wallet encryption. Only the password (and second password) is needed.

The wallet javascript verifier tell me not to log in now...

bootstrap-popover.js & bootstrap-twipsy.js were removed a while ago. Everything is ok server side so your browser probably has an old version of the page cached. Could you try clearing your browsers cache and logging in again http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache.

Whoever has this chrome extension installed: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/plfhcjljnfjpfcbjpgnflfofmahljkjj it is pinging the wallet servlet with incorrect parameters. If you find you get "IP Temporarily banned" errors this is the reason why.
