141  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: September 20, 2018, 10:07:16 AM
emmm when i did mine were running at 4600 when my auto machines were at 6000 hence why i said they run hotter. so i wonder why they go to crazy temps when clocked?...

Yeah, thats why I am asking. In the meanwhile I also have units, that show normal temps when using fixed freq. fw. So its a bit strange. Thats why I thought of maybe wrong readings.
What do I check in the kernel log?
142  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: September 20, 2018, 09:12:37 AM
The fans run slower RPM's check it out.

Just checked. In fact, the autotune miners run the fans at slower speeds.
143  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: September 20, 2018, 08:03:50 AM
If the readings are right, can someone explain this:
On autotune FW @14TH I get 90°C. Same miner with 650FW and stock settings @14TH shows 110°C. Power consumption is the same. So why get the chips hotter?
144  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~Time to Max Out Your Bitmain PSU~ on: September 19, 2018, 02:53:15 PM
Hi again,

I tried the 880 on a S9 14TH that worked with the fixed FW 650.
Can you explain please what the differences are between 650 fixed FW and 880 and 870 FW? With 880 I dont see a big difference. But I used the mod on a machine that already did not show temps over 100° with fixed fw. So I am just cuious. Since I have a 1600W PSU, I dont want to overextent. It runs @ 16TH @ 1690W

Hi,
is it correct, that stock voltage of fixed frequency firmware is 940?
146  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 FW with voltage/fan/frequency control on: September 18, 2018, 09:48:04 PM
Can somebody please tell me if I get this right:
The difference between the fixed frequenc firmwares is the voltage, right? So If I load the 650M firmware on a S9 with stock 14TH, it will assume it has good chips and give them LOWER voltage than the 600M firmware, right?

So could i just load the 650M firmware on my S9 and check what frequency it accepts?
Problem is that as soon as I load the fixed frequency firmware, the temps show above 100°C. But i think the readings are not right...

Any advice?
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon A9 Zmaster Scam on: September 17, 2018, 01:41:42 PM
I can just warn everybody from doing business with innosillicon. I Ordered 2 A9 Zmaster for 7000$ on August 22nd and paid directly with BTC. Since then the Orderstatus sais "Processing" but hasnt changed since August 24th. Multiple Questions to the support regarding my order dont get answered at all. Stay away. I will just continue doing business with Bitmain at least they are professional when it comes to buying and delivering.

...

If i dont get any reply or the miners during the next days i will take legal action against this company and inform as many others i can about my horrible experience with Innosillicon.

I completely agree with you that Innosilicon is an absolute joke of a company both in regard to the product and to the customer service facility.

They happily sell garbage and then just ignore you once they have your money.  What's worse is when you finally get their attention but the same people just ask you for the same thing over and over and over as if just stalling for...  what?  more time?  To do what?

Our group purchased a quantity of these and while they were delivered on time, 3/4 (three quarters!!) of the delivered units had performance FAR BELOW that advertised (28-39KSols as opposed to the advertised 50KSols).

Innosilicon Simply Does Not Care.

Six remote logins to our administrative computers, four useless firmware upgrades and innumerable screenshots later and they just stall and stall and couldn't give a damn.

Bitmain Exists Only To Plunder The Mining Community

With that in mind, please do reconsider your choice of BITMAIN which has amply proven themselves predatory in too many different ways, most egregiously with secret pre-mining:

https://medium.com/@salva.enkidu_89587/how-bitmain-indeed-mines-coins-in-secret-2ea179e7ab75

The existence of a company such as BITMAIN has historically already caused more contention and waste of human and natural resources than even other eminently criminal organizations such as Micro$oft, Adobe and Apple.

So, please Do Not resort to Bitmain.

Thank you for your order in Innosilicon.

Could you please give your order ID or email address to me? We can check and contact you asap. And we want to help you to solve the problem.

Hey Innosilicon! Pmease give us a proper overclocking option. The given options dont work properly.

Anyone else trying 9/11 firmware?
Same slow ramping up like the other one.

3 chains gone here as well.

Followed all instructions provided by the Bitmain Support page to upgrade to latest firmware with SD flashing, but i wasn't able to flash the E3 somehow even i made it step by step as suggested.

Can someone that managed the flashing through SD card make a guide/tutorial step by step? Pretty sure the Bitmain guide misses something or it would have worked out, not?

Thx in advance.

It just does not work. Even Bitmain said, it does not work. The E3 was the worst miner so far.

Guys, depending on what you want to achieve, you could just buy the coins instead of buying an asic to mine them. In both cases, you can hold to make more profit. An ASIC ROI can not be calculated that easy.
Just one aspect: if you get 10$ from mining and pay 9$ for electricity, you make 1$ profit. If the device costs 1000$, its 1000 days roi.
If you bet on rising prices, you could also just buy coins for 1000$ and have the effects of rising crypto immedeately. You also decrease  your investment risk. Otherwise you invest 1000$ for the ASIC and 9000$ for electricity to get 1000$ worth of coins. If you dont change to fiat every day thats a pending risk of 10.000$. of course its just example. But think of it.

So they started connecting.... See the profits diminish...

who is connecting ? hash rates seem the same
All equihash miners that are delivered now. Check asicminervalue.

Did somebody manage to overclock and run stable? And how high? Is there a legit way to do it?

Yes, Manufacturer does not seem responsive.  I am still waiting their respond on PSU spec for 2 days.
I do not feel confidence enough dealing with Cryptodrilling.com because they are using different entity name in Hong Kong.  Anyway, let us know how you goes.

They only answer when you buy something. Thats my personal experience.

Think it is worth it to buy this so late for 3450 USD? Batch 12 - 20 september.
Depends on your strategy. Since so many Equihash ASICs are incoming this month, maybe you should just buy the coin you want to mine for that money.

...
I put on a July firmware. Which firmware to you like? I have multiple with July dates.
I am using b29+_20180706_042116.swu. The other one that came out later is the same. It just had another filename due to some technical reason regarding Innosilicon.

Now that I am thinking of it: Maybe the reason why the August fr ran cooler is, that the mining process did not work properly. If it crashes often, chips are cooler.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Innosilicon releases A9 Zmaster 50ksol/s Equihash miner at 620W on: September 05, 2018, 08:41:44 AM
After comparing for some time, I went back to July firmware. I can not proof it 100%, but the newer firmwares seem to cause short hashrate drops. It can be seen in a drop of power consumption for some moments. Also the new firmware caused several crashes I did not notice.

Be careful: When you downgrade from August to July firmware, it might mess up the miner! It did for every miner I downgraded. I reflashed and applied factory settings. Because the miner kept crashing, you need to try several times until successfully applied.

Until now, the miners seem to crash after downgrade. Resetting did not help.
So be careful!

Edit: some resets, power offs and setting performance profiles later, they work now again normally with the July firmware.

After 38-44h all machines restarted because the memory was full. For the first time actually one froze. It had the July FW. Otherwise all back to normal. I restarted all at the same time again to compare another round.
