361  Economy / Speculation / Re: Consolidating Trend -- A Page From Arepo's Notes on: January 07, 2014, 07:41:08 AM
Thank you for your work, even more insightful than it usually is.
362  Economy / Speculation / Re: 5 January - Upper breakout has happened on: January 06, 2014, 02:33:36 PM

A bit early...but solid read to 960.

960 target done  Smiley

I meant a bit early in the next 6-9 days to 960...only took 1-2 days. Wink

But honestly, I hope the reads are for BTC or Stamp.  Those are the "real" prices of Bitcoin.  Basically no one can withdrawal anything without a 2 month wait on Gox so does that really count?

He's at BTC-E.

I know that this might draw a number of derisive replies, but has anyone considered that we might actually be in the final and most pronounced dead cat bounce?

I did. Good thing I bought today at the top.
364  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2014, 11:29:50 AM
This can't be right! You are predicting $1mil by the end of 2014!

To the moon or?
365  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 05, 2014, 03:04:18 PM
i think many guys here are really calm holding bulls because they bought under 10 USD...so it is little bit more easy to hodl i think...

It's irrelevant at what price you bought for deciding whether or not to hold an investment.

It depends on the person. I have more money than I have ever had in my life invested in Bitcoin. Had I earned that money through a regular job, there is no way I would consider putting it all into Bitcoin. But since it came so easy, it wouldn't hurt so much if I lost it all.

Probably how I would feel too. It's not rational however Smiley

It's not rational at all, but I feel the same way. I've been trying to ask myself if I had all my bitcoin-value in FIAT... would I buy as many bitcoins as I own now? Answer is usually: no, not even close, I wouldn't.

Then why am I not selling? Well, I actually am, but I can't bring myself to sell even close to the required amount. Why? Well, I guess I probably learned by pain through past experience that selling Bitcoin is not a good idea.

Selling precious coins when you're a bull is extremely hard. Harder than "not buying" even though you're bullish, I guess.

It is really really hard for me NOT to buy now. But I cant go against my instinct.
366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: January 04, 2014, 07:29:36 PM
This is some serious business. Even though the positive trend looks compelling, I still don't think we're out of the woods. Not until the China situation is either resolved or cooling down. I know I am taking a big chance, but I just can't go against my gut feeling that another drop is imminent.
367  Economy / Speculation / Re: Losing all hope on: January 03, 2014, 04:58:23 PM
Why would you not want to work? Working, and having your own business especially, is great.
Great for the fortunate few who enjoy it. But there is a difference between a hobby you get paid for and a chore you get paid for.

Get involved in working in an area that you enjoy. And if you can't, first work anywhere you can find, while also keeping an interest in the field you like. And then you'll surely find a job in that specific field.

I think one needs to find a purpose before one can be happy. No matter how many millions a bitcoin is worth.

370  Local / Romānă (Romanian) / Re: ATM bitcoin in Romania? on: January 01, 2014, 04:39:28 PM
Din cate stiu eu, in acest moment, doar 2 ATM-uri sunt functionale in lume, unul in Canada si celalalt... poate tot in Canada?

We'd have a mid-sixties gramma whale lurking the bitcoin seas!

Showing Loaded how it's done! Would be something!

Happy New Year you alls!

How I rue the warm autumn day in 2009 when my mom emailed me a note on bitcoin from some obscure "New Age" website and I was too arrogant to even read it.

lol! Your mum got in before you! That's rich!  Grin

It's quite sad actually.  She wanted to get $100 worth.  IIRC MtGox wasn't even around at that time, but I think there was some other way to buy some.  I had it in my head that it was just some stupid video game money so I didn't put forth than 20 min of effort it would have taken to help her.

Dont worry, I'm sure 10k BTC would've troubled her now. As I'm sure your stack will be enough to care for your needs.
373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 31, 2013, 05:19:22 PM
All my alarms just went off.

Did someone just dump a fortune?

~500 coins at Gox. Nobody gave a fuck.

Please remember to draw bitcoin going off the chart.  Lips sealed
375  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 29, 2013, 09:50:12 AM
edit: In seriousness though, congrats on managing to break through whatever triggered your 300k delusion back in the day.

Which one of us is being fooled now?  Roll Eyes No matter what I say, there is a great crowd of followers big and small. Of course I benefit from being a public figure, but what exactly do you gain from trying to "expose" me with screencaps taken from our very own commercial?  Cheesy

I don't think there is a great crowd of anybody(s) following you anywhere. In your mind maybe.

You might be surprised.  Bitcointalk.org is ranked #1426 by Alexa in the USA and #952 in Canada, for unique vistors per day.

Quickly calculating the ratio of "views / posts" over a random sampling of forum threads suggests a 40 : 1 lurker-to-poster ratio.  There are at least 50 posters here that follow Risto's posts.  Multiplying that by the lurker-multiplier factor of 40, suggests that approximately 2,000 individuals across the globe are paying attention to what he says.

WTF are you talking about? Please list the 50 posters here that "follow" Risto's posts. If there are 50 people on here who trade based solely on what ANY poster says then there are 50 STUPID people on here. And if that crazy calculation you just pulled out of your ass based on Alexa, probably the MOST inaccurate web traffic tool on the internet, is actually true, then there are at least 2000 STUPID people reading these posts.

Which, now that I think about it is probably true.

But there is not a lot of money following Risto or anyone else (maybe MasterLuc). Because people with a lot of money are smart enough not to "follow" anybody's particular posts.

Usually, I quite enjoy your posts, but this crusade of yours agaisnt RP is getting very tiring for the readers. How about you just ignore him and, do all of us, you included, a big favour.

377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reggie Middleton uses car analogy to explain that Bitcoin is not a bubble on: December 27, 2013, 11:08:01 AM
Reggie was also correct on the housing bubble.

interesting car analogy.

yeah, fuck lamborghinis, I want the bitcoin car that comes with it's own toll-free roads to everywhere in the world.

Well, he could've also mentioned that it travels ~10 times faster. That would've been appealing.

Just itching to buy back in... this is torture!

I have sold at 670, two days ago. Since then, the price went up to 720, went down to 550 and kept fluctuating so I can say that I do know the feeling, even though I'm in this thing for only 2-3 weeks now. Now, the itch and anxiety have faded, and I'm just watching and waiting for the perfect moment to jump back in, but not before we get to another low. Be patient and have some sort of a plan, any plan; that will help drive the anxiety away.

In it for 2-3 weeks.. Does that mean you bought in at +$1000?

No. I'm in this for 2-3 weeks but bought at an average of 585, although both my reasoning and my gut feeling were telling me that the price would go lower. I bought impulsively and impaciently, even before reading the China news. Lesson learned, patience activated.
