341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wepower. Sell or hold in wallet? on: April 03, 2018, 08:54:55 AM
As a result of participating in the bounty program, I received tokens from the project Wepower. What will be better in your opinion? Sell or hold in wallet?
Wepower is a green energy project and i think that is a very good project as it helps mother earth in return. If you don't need the money now it would be better to hodl that coin of yours because it has a big chance that it will go to the moon.
342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I earn Merit? on: April 02, 2018, 12:46:23 PM
Any tips on how to earn Merit? Is it P2P based or is it more systematic than that?

Thx
My tip is work for it and don't ask for it. Post informative and useful things to this forum. Others earn merit by reporting to DT the so-called merit abuse by others but don't follow them.  Grin

343  Other / Meta / Re: [April fools] New new rank requirements on: April 02, 2018, 07:53:19 AM
This is an april fools joke.

While merit improved things a lot, clearly more adjustments were necessary. Therefore, some new rank requirements have been added in addition to the old requirements.

The new rank components are:

Activity & Merit
As before.

Politeness
How polite you have been in your posts, using language such as "please" and "sir". Politeness is after all the cornerstone of any good community.

fMerit
An obvious extension on top of Merit, sMerit, and source merit. It is calculated using this simple formula:
Code:
min((1103515245*(uid+activity)+12345) % (1<<10),(1103515245*posts+12345) % (1<<10), (1103515245*merit+12345) % (1<<10))

Imagination
Bitcoin would not even exist without Satoshi's impressive imagination, so I've decided to take this into account on the forum. Imaginative people are those who have posted many images.

Virtue
This is an upright, God-fearing community which will suffer no witchcraft or other heresy. This stat measures your moral virtue. Warning: those with low virtue may be visited by the holy inquisition.

Coins
How many different coins you have invested in. A good Bitcointalker will maintain a reasonable balance between conservative (100% yearly return) and aggressive (7% weekly return) tokens/coins.

Karma
This is how many non-scammer trust ratings you have both sent and received. Due to our strict moderation of the trust system, this is sure to be a highly reliable measure of your reliability vis-à-vis the trust system.

Previously a lot of people were posting questions about the ranking system, so I decided to simplify it. Just put the highest-order 10 bits of each number into a grid in this configuration:

Then run Conway's Game of Life on the cells. If the cells never stop moving even after infinite steps, then you advance to the next rank.

For example, consider someone with these stats:
Quote
Merit: 40
Activity: 56
Politeness: 36
fMerit: 56
Imagination: 36
Virtue: 40
Coins: 56
Karma: 40
This gives you a grid like:

This never ends, so the person will advance in rank.

Rank adjustments happen every week on Tuesday, and you can only go up 1 rank per week.

Hopefully this easy-to-understand, graphical ranking system will put to rest many users' questions and concerns once and for all.
You got me Theymos.  Grin Grin

The merit sources are working and some of us just don't know who are they. Try to roam around the forum and you can see who they are.

349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin just a big bubble that is ready to burst anytime soon? on: March 31, 2018, 10:15:42 AM
When there is a dip we always said that bitcoin is a bubble but it is not. It is just a part of the cycle that bitcoin's price will go up and down.

351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO]🔥 BITCOINUS - Ecommerce payment processor🔥 on: March 30, 2018, 10:50:13 AM
In my opinion Bitcoinus is a good project because many investors are lured into it. They sold 80% plus of their token in ICO so that is already a positive thing that happens to their project considering the bearish market now.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford Vs Horn on: March 30, 2018, 09:57:42 AM
There's news that Terrence Crawford and Jeff Horn clash will push through.

If you guys remember, Horn defeated Manny Pacquiao (controversial) fight to take the WBO belt. He wants to proved that he winning the fight is no fluke that's why he is taking a big risk against the also undefeated Crawford.

I have nothing against Horn, but I don't think that he can beat Crawford. Terrence is the heir apparent and the next cash cow for Bob Arum, since Manny is already on the downside of his career.

There are also reports that Manny didn't approved of him fighting in this undercard vs Mike Alvarado. But instead will be going against hard hitting Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia.

In the undercard in another Filipino rising star Jerwin Ancajas who will defend his IBF Super Flyweight against Jonas Sultan.

Crawford will win this fight easily against Horn.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 30, 2018, 02:34:12 AM
Did you guys saw that video of LeBron James saying that he'd vote for himself as MVP. He is definitely having one of the best seasons of his career despite being 33, but James Harden for me personally is the MVP this season. I kinda felt a disrespect towards Harden from James. They are both outstanding players but Harden is leading the NBA in scoring and has never had a bad streak like James' in the month of January. This is just my personal opinion don't get offended if you're a LeBron James fanboy. Let's have a discussion about this.
Lebron James is just an over confident dude. That is what i don't like about him. He chooses his team mate so he can go to the final because he can't do it alone. Unlike Michael Jordan who is humble and worked with whomever the front office threw at him. He does not choose his team mates.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 29, 2018, 02:12:53 PM
Karl-Anthony Towns is a beast today against Atlanta Hawks he scored 56 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. At only 22 years old he broke the franchise record for the highest points scored in a single game for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Also this is a needed win as they are barely hanging a play off spot in the Western Conference. The best thing about his performance is I barely even notice that he scored 56 points, meaning he was not a ball hog and he only has the ball when needed. He is truly a team player.
With the addition of Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves, they are a team to beat come playoff times.
355  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Quit Facebook on: March 29, 2018, 10:30:31 AM

356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If gambling is illegal in your country, would you still gamble? on: March 29, 2018, 08:14:12 AM

I think i will not gamble anymore if it is illegal.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does positive thinking affect your edge in gambling on: March 29, 2018, 02:55:19 AM
Some people think that strong feeling affect the outcome of your bet. But for me its all about luck., what do you think guys.
It help sometimes but it is always luck that make you win in gambling.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: March 29, 2018, 02:27:32 AM
houston rocket or boston celtics will win the nba finals 2018.
Why you can't see Raptors? They are the top notch on the Eastern Conference while Boston Celtics is only on the #2 spot.

im a cavs fan but cavs defense as of now is not that efficient
I think that losing Kyrie Irving is one of their mistake. Irving does plays well during his time with the team but now looks like he's a boost to the Celtics. Lebron can't carry their team anymore, a team that depends on one man is hard to win.
That is the disadvantage of losing a player to injury, your hope of going to the finals vanished instantly. Without Irving, the Celts will not go through the first round of the playoffs. Huh
359  Economy / Gambling / Re: CHANGE YOUR LIFE on: March 28, 2018, 08:59:55 AM
So you expect me to gamble my money and lose all my savings...
It is gambling and the chance for you to lose all your savings is high while the chance of winning is very slim. Grin Grin
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin used by criminals ? on: March 28, 2018, 08:30:38 AM
I once read an article that says bitcoin is used as a payment transaction for terrorists and hackers. And maybe you guys in this forum also already know it. But here i want to convey my personal opinion in that matter. I think that internet and bitcoin interrelated. Many terrorists and criminals use internet .so also with bitcoin which used perpetrator However, despite all these issues, do people make concrete efforts to ban the internet? No. Not because removing and banning Bitcoin is difficult, but because the internet offers more positive than negative. For the same reason, we have to be more careful about our mindset for Bitcoin, because much evidence has shown that Bitcoin brings many positive, if not more, effects than the internet. Internet and Bitcoin are just devices that 'bad guys' and 'good people'. Fortunately, the world is filled with more people in the 'good people' category.
Public blockchain is traceable so it would be and idiotic move for a terrorist to use this.
