Looking at the BTC.com page and the CKPool stats, one has to smile  Grin

A trend is developing......

Not unless you want to differentiate from each worker. Might be good for troubleshooting or clocking.

No T9 or s9i at these prices huh?

Picked up a factory sealed V9 for $105 US delivered ..... seems their being dumped by some suppliers up here

They must know something, shakeup coming?

it is a loser unless your power cost is close to zero

if you have 0-4 cents a kwatt it makes profit.

at 5 cent power it loses   20 cents a month
at 4 cent power it earns $4.43 a month
at 3 cent power it earns $9.07 a month
at 2 cent  ................... $13.71
at 1 cent  ................... $18.34
at 0 cent .................... $22.98

so it should pay off in 5 months if your power is free

of course if you need a space heater and would use one anyway it has more value.
at 0 cent

it is not about better gear right now

the game is cheap power as gear has flooded the market.

Understood

6 cents..... these are short term o/c

Part of the learning curve for this tech before investing in faster down the road

Plus my location / power supply is limited

Clocking?

So mixing different speeds is a no-no?

2nd V9 added to my farm today (don't laugh please)

Previously only one V9 and the GekkoScience pods & USB miners

Never used a worker name for either

Is it necessary to add work names with the two V9's?

Does the pool prefer the assignment of the difficulty to different workers and would they conflict otherwise?

Sorry for all the newbie questions. TIA  Smiley

Just my 0.02 cents
My original R808 has been running 24/7 for months now @ 150mhz solid
Reading and following the advice on this board:
Replaced both fans with 50 x 50 x 20 units from Amazon
Both original fans were starting to fail, slowing and chattering but they served their time well up to this point
Original M3 screws were replace with M3 x 50mm. Heatsink was drill & tapped perfectly so replacement was easy
R808 is now running @ 175mhz comfortably
The only downside is louder fans, to be expected tho.
Also changed power supply from the 6A brick to a Corsair Gold PS and using the 6 pin connector
I know it's my imagination but the R808 seems to start faster and run better with the 6 pin connection
Overall, the R808 design was extremely well designed   Cheesy

Would love to add a s9i but they auto-tune from what I've read, little user control
My V9 is most likely a rebranded S7 and more expensive to run
However, I've under clocked it down to 300mhz and it runs 8 ~ 10 C cooler in the garage (2T/hs)
Crazy but I'm going with a second one to add to the cKpool
Prefer to be in control even with the higher operating cost  Wink

So when an orphan block happens, shares are reset or lost?  Huh
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer V9 4TH on: July 06, 2018, 05:49:30 PM
I thought so also

At 600mhz the KillAWatt meter showed almost 1200W at the wall

The APW3++ is only rated for 1200W max for 120V

At 450mhz I'm pulling 891W which is approx. 80% of the supply's capability at 120V

I don't want to supplement with a PC power supply also

71  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer V9 4TH on: July 06, 2018, 05:00:23 PM
Question for the experts:

Antminer V9 running at 450mhz and an APW3++ pulling 891W at the wall at 120V (80% rule for the PS)

If I add another AP3W3++ and hook it up to two hash boards and use the original for the other hash board & controller will this be OK?

I understand that the PS with the two hash boards would have to be turned on first, followed by the other PS with the hash board & controller

I don't have an option to run 220V in the garage

The garage circuit is on a ground fault circuit  breaker in the panel and the only other load is the 8W LED post light along with the outside plugs which are not used.

Safety first o/c  Smiley

Seems tens of thousands if miners destroyed in China due to flooding

They say it has affected the hashing

I'm not posting a link but easy to find

Record heat today here in Kanata at 35C/47C with humidity  Tongue

Gekko indoor gear will suffice on the pool for now......

Happy upcoming 4th to all south of the border!  Cheesy

Understood and Thanks!

I've been switching around between the two pools up to this point.....
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 25, 2018, 11:27:56 AM
Very small outfit here, newbie
Mining with an Antminer V9 running at 3T/hs because I'm on 110v (891w)
I run this between 7pm and 7am because the electricity rate is less than half (6.5 cents)
Between 7am and 7pm I run my Gekkoscience gear at 88G/hs
The purpose being to maintain but not add to the value of previous work done
I have noticed herp starts running down.
Is there a minimum hash rate in order to maintain my standing until the Antminer is turned back on at 7pm?
Thanks in advance  Cheesy
77  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [220PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 22, 2018, 12:34:36 PM
Pool latency question
Pool latency for me is around 60ms which accounts for higher rejected shares
I'm north of the border also
Any easy solution to this?

My V9 does exactly the same  Huh

CKpool & CKSolo with the same results with a lot of rejected shares, about 33% to be exact, and no Best Share shown

Stats on the CK pools show that I'm producing however

Other pools can have next to no rejected shares, but still no Best Share

My miner in in the garage connected to an Amped wireless extender but I tried it indoors directly connected yo the router with the same results

I'm assuming the V9 has some quirks esp. at the price point

The V9 also came with the latest firmware from the factory

I'll stick with the CK pools however  Cheesy
