Unfortunately, there has been another report from a user (a few hours ago) about a bug in the client which affected users cannot unlock their encrypted client with the correct passphrase. Since the first report from our user, I have been debugging and researching on the issue. What disturb me the most is that there are also at least two xCash users reported the same issue in their thread ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=765360.msg9934379#msg9934379) and the fact that vTorrent is largely based on xCash led to possible conclusion that both currency is affected by the same bug and not specific to our client. As of now, I still cannot duplicate the issue myself and I am still unsure if this reported issue is a vaid bug, but so far there are 3 vTorrent users contacted me with the same similair issue. For now, I would recommend all vTorrent users to not only have their wallet.dat backup but also to export a private key and keep in a safe place, in case that the bug is valid users will be able to regain access to their coins by importing exported private key. Also, it might be best for all users to migrate to unencrypted client for now at least until I can find out more about the issue. Sadly I am the third unlucky person in this event. Not sure why or how the passphrase got changed as it is now showing invalid passphrase when I try to unlock the wallet with the same password I have been using. I have been using the wallet normally for a few week, then I created and send my funds to a new wallet address. I used that new address for my mining income. Nothing I have tried works and there is nothing I can do to fix the problem. nothing to do with the fact your heavily involved in Torrent coin. Its called competition - This is how the real world works. And all Crypto is gambling regardless of coin or dev. It's true that I am supporting vTorrent and I agree that competition is good, but I would probably also support and invest in Magnetz too if they are not a scammer group as it turns out. Can't you really see that Magnetz is nothing but a shame money grab ICO? They just clone the dead old coin and try to resell it again with a nice packaging. I seriously cannot understand how can people be so blind to support a team or a coin like that. |

That simply looks amazing I have to share that with all my twitter people and I think you should do the same if vTorrent has a twitter profile  Nothing new. Lot of devs can programming an inside trading for about 0.2 BTC since cloakcoin... And there is a lot of coin that have this feature yet. I've tried both just now. Cloakcoin's trading stuff isn't even remotely comparable to this mate. All of those coin with advertised 'trading' feature is pretty much 'gimmick' (I can't imagine anyone trading with that thing anyway). Cheers! |

POW ends at 97k block or 97k POW block? Because there are suppose to be 20mln coins total. Now we are at 36k block and only 4,2+mln coins exists. So with current tandencies at 97k block only around 10mln coins will be created. Am I understending it correct?
I would think you are right, vTorrent is hybrid PoW/PoS and we can find number of last block in main.h static const int LAST_POW_BLOCK = 97000; 20mil is simply maximum possible supply, we will most likely end PoW with supply much lower than that, and being investor I have no problem with that  Cheers! |

@vTorrent knowing 99% of cryptos are just flat out scams, what can you do to prove to investors this coin is legit? Can you release something big, proof of developer, any other things to build trust for community to rally behind?

There will be no POD since I choose to remains anonymous with the project, and I fail to see why real legit coin would need a 'PoD'. No need for me to repeat all of the example from the project with a perfect score on 'PoD' but still is a perfect scam. Is there anything NOT legit about vTorrent? It is a fair mining coin since started, and honestly I don't even have the miner myself. There is no Pump and Dump group behind this coin and I am working hard to make vTorrent the best coin out there. In my opinion PoD is nothing but a useless tools for scammer to use and try to make their project 'looks legit' and make a quick buck. I am here because of the 'proof of work' from the developer like you. I will not invest a single dime in a project that need to hire everything just to get anything started with nice marketing and 'dev team' behind it. Why ICO before you even have a single line of code of your own?When I said codebase in the previous code I was referring to cloning. That's what 90% of the coins do when they start. People seem to take it less seriously when it's a PoS clone but we have no idea why. About coding and the ICO. The coin code is final, we are not thinking about hardforking magnetz anytime soon and that's why we choose torrentcoin to start with. Because it already has what we needed (blockchain code-wise) built -in and that way we could focus on building the most important thing of the ecosystem which is the blockchain torrent search engine. That's what the team as been working on and that's where most of the ICO funds will go, we have the code 70% ready to be deployed in an alpha phase but the graphics look horrible (very TPB like) and we need to hire someone to do that job, we also need to pay the guys already working on it. But every little thing I'm describing here is already stated on the roadmap. We were careful enough to prepare the timeline for development so investors didn't have any doubts on what they are investing in. It is very hard (almost impossible) to believe that you and your 'dev team' have any capabilities to achieve just half of what you are promising based on the lack of work and quality on the wallet itself. (complete clone from dead scam coin) One would expect much more with the wallet (since it is the only thing you have available to show) from a team of developer asking 55btc up front for their work. If you really have 70% of the code ready to be deployed in an alpha phase as you said (even with horrible graphics) why don't you just show us any part of the work to proof that there is any truth in what you are claiming at all. And please explain how your currency MGT will be related to 'the blockchain torrent search engine' and why it should be priced at 733 satoshi and not 20 satoshi. Lastly, why ICO especially with nothing ready and why not just started the project with some premine for development funds (if you are confident of your project). In my opinion, your plan with this ICO is already a success with 7btc, the amount you received is already more than what you should have got from just cloning of old dead scam coin. |

I've looked for shills, there are no shills. It's 2 persons, maximum. One is the graphic designer, the other one is the PR/marketing guy. First thing I noticed is that it's similar to STB as well. They just took VTR's idea and trying to make a buck based on it. Keep fighting the scammers. Interesting, i've compared the source with vTorrent, not with TorrentCoin thats why I did not see any problems at first, but it seems like it's really just a clone You should re-post this in Magnetz thread again so people will know that it is just a clone and (possible) scam. |

Some update on this scam project. Please try to not FUD the project and the space where community members discuss about magnetz.
We can confirm that our basecode is indeed the same as torrentcoin's. What some bitcointalk members need to understand is that every blockchain based project uses another coin's code as it's basedcose. There are lots of projects loved and strongly supported by the community that started with basecodes previously used by other coins.
What the team is doing (as can be perceived by the roadmap and as will be stated in tomorrow's whitepaper) is start the coin with a certain basesource and then build services around it.
Every coin does it, build value around a blockchain, and that's what altcoins are all about. Build experimental services around the blockchain and push the limits of what it can do.
We won't delete the last posts because we feel this subject needed to be addressed but please try to keep the thread clean so the real discussion about magnetz can happen.

That looks pretty impressive Dev I would totally test it out if I had a Mac but unfortunately I am running a P.C so I can't partake with testing  But if there is anything that I can do just let me know Beta version for other operating system will follow soon. You are aware decentralized databases are required to be a currency right? This seems like a good idea with an unnecessary currency system thrown in.
+1 but adding a currency system on it could be interesting too. e.g: if you found an interesting torrent you were looking for, you can donate some MGT to the uploader, don't you think so? I don't know which system they're going to implement with everything but could be interesting to open a "donations" section on every address on the blockchain-site.  Hey! Further details will be given in the whitepaper but basically you will need to spend magnetz in order to "post" a magnet link in the blockchain. Nice!  Exactly, people have to spend 1 (or the amount stipulated), that's why a donation system or a remark in the MGT address can make others donate for their input to the community sharing torrents. In my case if I found a torrent that I like and it's on the blockchain, maybe I'm going to donate to the account that shares it with us, like small tips or microdonations I don't know but this is looking more and more similar to vTorrent https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=889481.280Why should I (or anybody) invest in this ICO since VTR is already there and cheaper than your ICO price. |
