I don't think the win 32 version of the wallet has been updated.

I just discovered CPU mining at the beginning of March and that made me want to learn about coin mining in general, and then this stuff happens.
What a bad first impression I'm getting from crypto. This is complete bullshit.

Surely, this hack will soon make the coin worthless and dead.

I haven't found an understandable answer for me yet on POS.
If I leave my wallet open for staking during the day, but close it at night when I turn off my PC, am I just wasting my time? Does the staking reset to zero and I am starting over when I reopen in the morning?
Better keep the wallet online, unfortunately coin age is not stopping to count when you turn off your pc, but I think it could be good feature. But as you see the dev is sleeping or smth. Well, I'm willing to keep my wallet open to support the network while my computer is normally on, but I won't do it at night when it is normally turned off just to make next to nothing in xmg through staking. Maybe a dev could comment on this? You can buy cheap SoC and stake with it (they usually have no fans, means no noise, and consuming few watts), just good idea to move filesystem to some external HDD, because microsd cards don't like many rewrites. You can buy Orange pi set on aliexpress for ~15€. I have Orange pi pc, great thing to watch movies in HD format, or even 4k. Ok, I think I will try a Raspberry Pi wallet. But to answer my original question, am I completely wasting my time with an open wallet not 24 hrs per day? Do I lose all my accumulated staking time every night my PC is off?

sorry i just dont see a increase since this morning i had .5387400 Unconfirmed which had gotten orphaned and i had .47887009 confirmed when i left this morning for work i just got back from work and seen i had .5879021 confirmed which i dont see it is worth it at all. I am leaving xmg coin mining alone till everything is fixed and im going to mine another cpu coin.
What is another good cpu coin?

And Orphans are back Yes, he is back. My workers are all turned off. Good bye.

More coins has not been the case in my pool.
Besides that, this whole situation is a joke. Welcome to Shitcoinville.

Orphan time begins!
Is AEON a good coin to support?
Any other suggestions for CPU?

Ok then, this "complete newbie" is now looking for a different coin to mine.

Orphans starting on Trasmamod, more hashing in a vacuum.
You not hashing into a vacum, when I finish my so called attack, you will get much bigger rewards due to POW block rewards stay big. This is complete BS. Something is very broken. And I know others have said this, but I also don't believe that in the short term, everyone gets more coins because of this.

they aren't listening or talking about the situation, theres no communication, theres no reinsurance. its all hush hush we have something big happening. Instead of focusing on the problem instead of telling the community they are working on a solution. Actions speak 5 times more then words and so far we are seeing nothing.
almost 4 months of no actions. i'm a software developer if i had my community/clients complaining about an issues i would of dam fixed it already. That way i know they would have faith in me and my software.

I checked the Stat pages from some pools around the block 1774146 Orphans starts , difficulty is under 1 and Rewards are around 40. except on m-hash they have the past 2days almost only orphans. (I wonder why the miners stay there) I think many pools are suffering, the attacker seems to be rotating the pools. Man why do hackers and scammer have to destroy everything new and fun. Since there seems to be no consensus around here, or any feedback from a dev, is there any point in continuing to mine XMG? I can't help the situation with development because I have zero training or experience. But I am supporting XMG right now by consuming and paying for electricity by mining, so I think that it's reasonable for me to expect at least some kind of answer back from a developer as to whether or not there is a solution being worked on for these attacks. Is there another coin you would recommend that can be mined with reasonable results by cpu? Like I said in my prior posts, I don't expect to have any net income from this, but it seems pointless to continue mining XMG with questionable results, unless as you've been investigating, we are farther ahead even with all of the problems.

I started mining magi to learn about cryptocurrencies, and it was nice to find what was supposed to be a cpu only mineable currency.
I never expected to make money at this, but now it's ridiculous with all the orphan blocks.
I don't exactly understand what is going on, but what I have learned from this experience is that it looks like the cryptocurrency world is a bit of a bad joke.
And I don't see where anyone in charge is commenting or actually reacting to this.
I think it's time to stop making cpu heat for absolutely no apparent reason.
I started for the same reason, AND I understand completely, BUT noticed that in the "orphan-blocks-period", I'm not generating/receiving any coins, nevertheless after the "bot-net"/or what ever SPAM, the difficulty is pretty LOW and the rewards are "higher" again, so that in the time until the next "ATTACK", the gained rewards surpass the gains you would have normally made, even accounting for the orphan-time. I known this is not ideal, but until its fixed / blocked / stopped it is a silver lining. btw.: if there are some dev's out there maybe we/they could create a pull request with a fix to help out the team, just in the spirit of other opensource projects. Are you sure about this, that we still come out ahead regardless of the theft? Is this true for all mining pools?

The cryptocurrency world is rather vast. XMG is, no matter what you think of it, not representative of the whole, it's a small project with a specific aim. Not saying you should keep going or not, but to assume the entire landscape looks like this is like being cheated on by a woman and assuming all women are untrustworthy... Fair comment. I intend on continuing to play with this, mostly because it continues to be a learning experience, and it is also giving me an excuse to play with my raspberry pi's. Do you have any suggestions for other coins that would produce at least some results with CPU only? I live in a country with relatively high energy rates, and I pay for my electricity, so ASIC or gpu mining is out of the question.

Fork the coin else this project is dead. Simple as. It's not an easy decision to make and some people might lose out on it, but they stand to lose everything if this keeps up.
Has anyone been able to traceroute the attacker's IP? If it's a VPN maybe contact them and tell them that their network/service is being abused or call their local serious crime agency. This is theft at the end of the day, and with over $2m market cap it's not a small sum to go missing.
So if there's a fork, what happens to the coins I have earned? Do I lose them?
